what exactly is a covered bridge festival?

I really have to go now before it is time for the girls to get home. Kristina, were you thinking of going to the festival?

Sorry answering as i go to keep up (and keep posts up)

There is a seperate part of the festival where you take trip to see the actual bridges (yeah right maybe someday)

I say Covered Bridge Festival but to me that means go to Knoebels park (free parking/no admission to park itself) let kid go wild on the rides (kids are pay as you go or by wristband for all you can ride for $20 or so).

In the meantime, i go through and look at the hundreds of craft vendor they have in the picnic pavillions. Oh, and definately get an apple dumpling this one group sells. People come from all over and by panfulls of them.

I can go Saturday.

Kim what genre of book do you read? On Vacation, I bring trashy romance novels, ya know those $5 ones . lol

I'll read almost anything except Westerns and Sci-Fi. I really like a good romance, but it has to have a plot and and a storyline. Anything I can buy at the airport I read. I LOVE LOVE LOVE stories like Endurance and the story of the indianapolis. I ADORE true life adventure stories! I have read almost everything on the top 10 paperbacks at any given time.

So once again this week, we will not be watching the same GA episode as you all. Since I saw both last week, I will skip this week. Will watch Survivor instead. Although not sure I will be able to stay awake, i am so ready for bed right now, and that is the main sign I am sick.

DD is still a bit croupy and I felt her glands this evening and they are swollen. Looks like we will be going to the doctors after all. She hardly coughs, but it sounds terrible when she does. And she sure has her dad wrapped around her little finger when it comes to bed time. I think he needs to go away for a few weeks so I can get her back on track!

Yesterday I went through the McD's drive through to grab some lunch for DS. He saw the promo sign for the Little Mermaid toys and said, "That's Little Mermaid. She has RED hair." Then he just smiled. (So of course he had to get the little Mermaid toy instead of the Bionicle one.)

So, another warning to the redheads. Walt is taking notice.

See how life has changed for redheads? At least little girls. Now they are all the rage... Mine wanted to dye her hair. We almost choked! You cannot dye your beautiful hair. Over my dead body. And I mean it on this one... ok at least as long as it's my money.

I want everyone to know that DH posted this and the next thing we know the DIS is GONE!!!! I blame DH and I think we might have to ban him for doing such a thing. I told him that he gave the DIS a virus by posting one!!!!

DD is in pre-alg. They are doing order of operation and adding and subtracting positive and negative integers. Her teacher writes out their problems something like this...

5+-9+6--5+-8--10.
Shouldn't it be;
5+(-9)+6-(-5)+(-8)-(-10)

I can't stand it without the parentheses!!

Actually, neither is right. the + and - together are silly, although I understand how she is trying to teach it, it just doesn't make sense.

DS has been having a really good week at school and I hope it continues today. This morning after I dropped him off I went outside in the hall and watched him through the window. DS and two other boys (Cory and Keegan) were standing there. DS had brought in two “home toys” a Spiderman action figure and his toy dragon. Cory had brought a yellow Power Ranger. Nathan had the Spiderman and the Power Ranger while Cory had the dragon. Keegan was kind of looking sad and I heard the teacher asks Keegan what he home toy was. Keegan said he didn’t want his toy so DS went over to him and offered him his Spiderman (“for the whole day”). Keegan said he didn’t want the Spiderman and I think he must have mentioned the dragon because I saw DS go over to Cory and trade him back the yellow Power Ranger for the dragon and then he gave the dragon to Keegan to play with. I was very proud of him because he was concerned enough to share and most especially since he actually was willing to trade a Power Ranger toy to do it. Sometimes you see stuff like that and it makes you think that maybe you are doing something right as a parent. I don’t feel like a good Mom very much so I have to take it when I can get it!

Awww, how sweet! I'm so glad things have been going well for him at school!

Not everyone will be drinking..at least not us. I wonder how much a private taxi tour would run? I like to drive around myself though, the whole "control" issue. I think we should all be safe being in a group.

I can picture everyone switching drivers with the non drinkers as the tour continues around the island.
