We had such a difficult time coming up with names for our kids that I thought they would never have names.

DH and I both like very different names. I prefer more traditional names and DH likes wierd ones with incorrect spellings.
With DS I wanted names like Andrew, Matthew, Joshua, Justin, etc.. DH couldn't really think of any but he jokingly referred to Cougar as a name. For a girl I liked all kinds of names like Abigail, Reagan, etc.. DH wanted Angel - that was it. Nathan was not even a name on my list but when we were driving back from his parents one day we were going through names like crazy and DH said Nathan and I immediately knew that was what his name would be if we had a boy. I immediately suggested Nathan Alexander but DH didn't like the middle name. He liked Nathan Cole. In the end I won because after what I went through to have DS I don't think DH could have done anything else. Before we knew we were having boy we had decided on Kimberly Grace if we have a girl but DH was wanting to spell her name Kymberleigh!
For DD we had a boys named picked out pretty easily this time. We thought Nicholas would be a good name to go with Nathan and we would call him Nick. We never got around to deciding on a middle name by the time we found out we were having a girl. The girl name was harder for some reason Kimberly no longer sounded right to me and I just didn't think it would be a good fit for her. DD still wanted Angel. We thought we had come up with a good name Annabelle Leigh but then we found out there was a creepy poem by Edgar Allen Poe with the title Annabelle Lee and we decided the name was a bad idea. We were back at square one and I was really convinced that we were never going to come up with something. Then one day I was talking to DH on the phone here at work when the subject of names came up and oddly enough we both came up with Allison at the same time. We both just knew that was it and that we would call her Allie. We then both suggested Nichole for a middle name. The spelling took a little longer to come up with. I liked Allison and if I remember correctly DH liked Alyson. I liked Nicole and he liked Nichole so we compromised with my spelling of Allison and his spelling of Nichole.
