I am tired again tonight. I have just felt run down. I hope I am not about to get sick.

Yes, payroll and HR is Soooooo much fun! I FIRST had to take our antiquated time and attendance system to an automated digital one about ten years ago - and I had to FIGHT the payroll people to do it. THEN two years ago, I took us from a payroll service (ADP) to in-house payroll (something the payroll people swore they would rather be dead before they see)! Boy was that fun!

Of course you know, since I made the initiative (no matter it saved the company lots of $$$), I know have ownership of both initiatives, and I am NOT an IT person, but the next closest thing we have (other than our one IT person).

BTW - the actual people who DO the payroll were all open to it - it was the oversight of payroll that gave me all the grief.

And don't even get me started on all the garnishments, child support, taxes, and dumb things people do (like close their accounts without telling you)!

I have to tell you the worst anger story. I was at one of my non profit meetings and they were having a dinner at the country club. Well, at the country club you cannot use a cell phone, so, of course we had major HR issues. I went to the parking lot and the club people yelled at me there so I had to go stand in the middle of the street dodging cars (and DH can verify this) for 45 minutes until I swear the veins on my head popped. When DH finally came looking for me and found me in the street i gave him the 5 minute signal. When I got back to the dinner table, and I swear this is true, he handed me a xanax. It's what the Dr gave me for airport security and he had one in his pocket in case I forgot mine. So here is my solemn vow to all of you. I promise to only laugh at payroll problems, and telephone companies, and insurance costs during the whole cruise! I won't care and because my family is with me, nothing else will matter.

Well, I just booked our air, and now I have to make some changes . . .

Air just went on sale today from Akron/Canton on Airtran - so I was glad I waited . . . The only problem was that our departure date and return date did NOT have any of the flights available to book with our rewards points (we have enough for two round trips) Why does that always happen?

So I had to bite the bullet and schedule a flight the night before into Orlando . . . we had wanted to leave early morning of the 6th - we are now leaving evening of the 5th (Amy has to work on the 5th). We now leave at 6:42 on the 5th, arriving 10:45 on that evening with a stop in Atlanta.

Now my only problem is that we don't have a room for the 5th . . . send my some pixie dust so that when I call MS tomorrow morning I can get us a room for the 5th SOMEWHERE in DVC!

If not, I guess we can sleep at the airport and Amy can help the homeless around the terminal . . .

NONE of that happened to us when we took Sophia. It was all right on time, and fun! Hopefully it IS just an anomoly!

My CPA and our Attorney are taking care of any phone call problems, so unless it is my parents, sister, or DH brother I should not have any calls. And if they call, it's really not good.... We will have internet stuff, but can work that around DD. We promised her we would not work this vacation unless she was sleeping. So that is what we are going to do. DH is a different story, but we are working on him next.
