DS wants an iPod but not because of school but because he really loves mine. I sometimes let him listen to it with me. I have one earbud and he takes the other. He likes to listen to the cover Rascal Flatts did of Life Is A Highway for Cars.

I think we will get him a cheap MP3 player (not an iPod) for Christmas and pre-load it up with some of his favorite music.

Becka - Sophia has an ipod shuffle (which is cheap) and she never missed the screen. Big enough to hold all the music she likes, and I did not have to give up the integration with iTunes.

Since she had it before she could read - who needs the screen when you can't read - and she is still happy with it!

We don't have Thomas stuff but DS has a Geotrax set with a million pieces that also take up my whole living room! We had the same problem when Allie started crawling. She really liked the train set and Nathan did not want her near it. It still causes problems because Allie likes to tear up track he has put together, etc.. It is a real PITB!

LOL! Yes, my neat nick son who started lining up his cars at 6 months did not like DD ruining his work. When we took his cars away from him he started lining up whatever else he could get his hands on...crayons, board books...whatever. It must be the engineer in him.

Well, as much as I was looking forward to meeting all of you in person, we have cancelled this cruise and booked a 4-night cruise instead.

My family wants to go to MVMCP and the Candlelight Processional and spend a couple of days in the parks with all of the Christmas decorations. There was just no way to swing that and still go on a 7-night cruise.

Have a great time!! Maybe we'll meet up on another DCL cruise.

I am sorry that you will not be joining us but I am sure you will have a blast on the 4 night. It is hard to do a 7 night because you do have to give up WDW time. Have a great time!!!!

I had to leave last night because DD woke up and threw up. That was fun. We are hoping for a less eventful night tonight.

How is she doing today? You said that she didn't seem like she was feeling good even when she was sleeping. I remember that feeling...the night before we were leaving for the cruise last year.

ooh and can we please complain about doing payroll? I hate it. And more than that I hate paying the IRS. Yes I know it is the law and I know I should appreciate everything the government does. But, why can't people fill out time sheets correctly? Why do they have to change thier dependents every pay period? Why o Why do I have to do so many garnishments for child support services? Ok this is boring for those not in payroll. Sorry!

Yes, payroll and HR is Soooooo much fun! I FIRST had to take our antiquated time and attendance system to an automated digital one about ten years ago - and I had to FIGHT the payroll people to do it. THEN two years ago, I took us from a payroll service (ADP) to in-house payroll (something the payroll people swore they would rather be dead before they see)! Boy was that fun!

Of course you know, since I made the initiative (no matter it saved the company lots of $$$), I know have ownership of both initiatives, and I am NOT an IT person, but the next closest thing we have (other than our one IT person).

BTW - the actual people who DO the payroll were all open to it - it was the oversight of payroll that gave me all the grief.

And don't even get me started on all the garnishments, child support, taxes, and dumb things people do (like close their accounts without telling you)!

This is for my DS, Brandi's DS and Lisa's DS...

I will have to show them this one tomorrow. They use to name all the trains at BG and got so excited each time when they saw one coming down the track. Now they point out the "Cars" characters whereever we go. Does anyone else's kids do that?

Nope, I was looking at the WDW site and the BBB complaint. I am freaked now that she may have to wait for an hour even though we have reservations. I really really hope that was an anomoly because I only planned 1 hour and 45 minutes for that little event....
