I meant the salmon trip! :) But Utah to Florida would be WOW!! I would have contimplated driving out to California next summer if my BF was still going to be there and we didn't have plans already. I would LOVE to drive across country!!
That is our retirement plan! Driving across the country. All our kids and GKs are good roadtrip travelers too because we have taken them so much. It is WAY easier for little ones now that DVDs are available.

My only problem is DH. He is a "get there ASAP" kind of guy! :rotfl: He doesn't see the sense of driving there when you could be somewhere a lot faster in a plane!

I used the lenses from my EOS1 with my Rebel. My DW wants my Rebel and has said that I can get the 5D or EOS 1D. :woohoo:
DrHug will be very jealous! ;)

Caroline,
I'm a Canon fan too. So that should narrow your search down, since it's endorsed by PJ, Brack and me!

The S2 IS and S3 IS both look good. I'll pull out my Consumer Reports info to give you some other options.
This is also a Canon household. DrHug loves ALL of his Canon cameras, and he has a bunch going back to the late 1970's. I think he should open a museum someday! :teeth:

Is anyone else thinking of doing the Eco Tour on CC? I will be one of those in the "back of the pack" I am sure, so if anyone else out there would be too, we should go together so we don't look so bad. :rotfl:
Not us. We do plan alot of hammock time though! Have to get off the ship early though. :lmao:

Oh Angie, she is trying so hard to be a good DIL! She is only 21 and has had quite a rough life. She doesn't even talk with her own mother much! The biggest problem is the guilt trips her MIL lays on her. My niece is here for at least 8 months. Luckily my parents have a little apartment that she can stay at. Well, while she is here she is trying to LIVE here, not look at it as a visit. KWIM? Her MIL keeps saying that my niece's family will see the baby more than her, yada, yada, yada. She even invaded my poor niece right after the baby was born for a week trying to tell her what she is doing wrong instead of just helping. :sad2:
:grouphug: for your niece. It is hard enough being separated from her husband and worrying about him. Will keep her in our prayers.

Well, off to shower and get finish getting ready for DM's BD party. I wound up making a third apple pie last night because DrHug REALLY wanted a piece. The way to a man's heart.....

Unfortunately when you work getting there has to be priority. We cannot wait until we can retire (1 year, 7 months and 24 days - not that I'm counting) and spend some time actually seeing this amazing country we live in and visiting the many friends/family we have scattered from one coast to the other.

I think if you are a mom and your husband is in Iraq you should get to stay wherever you want.

Do you all know how far down this thread was. It was almost critical! It took me over 2 clicks to find it. Shameless. We are never going to meet Beckas goal this way... I have to go to church, need to pray for perfect weather in december, but I will be back...

Dh and DM and DD just left for the big fishing trip. DD is grief stricken. She is such a daddys girl. We are trying to think of fun things to do this week. If it gets bad enough, I am just going to hop on a plane and go to Disneyland.

Kim

Where is John when you need him? Just for your entertainment, we had massive winds again and we have french doors onto a porch in the master bedroom so when it gets really windy, the wind whistles through the doors. So, what we do is get out the duct tape and seal it. Had to do that last night. Good thing I have a sinus infection and can't smell anything....

Kim

OK, I tried to do this, but I can't think of that many things to say to myself. I am wearing shorts and a t-shirt, probably not appropriate church attire. Gotta go change... I am sure you are all thrilled.

BRACK !!!!

I wish I had a nice wife like that. Does that mean you won't be a Rebel anymore? Annette will then be a Rebel. Will she also be a 'cult' member?
The Rebel is an awesome camera. The 5D is spectacular. LOL. So, what are we all gonna do with our obsolete EOS-1 models????

Just made DD sign a contract regarding putting away her DVDs and CD's when she is finished with them. Hopefully that will work. I taped it up in front of her computer. Wish us luck.

I saw this great signature on a post:

Don't anthropomorphize computers.
They hate that.
