When we lived in OKC we still drove. There it was almost 24 hours. We used to drive it straight but the last couple of years we stopped about 3/4 through.

I've sworn that we will never drive that far.....(DM used to drive us down every year as kids and i know that the ride got longer and longer)

We ususally don't have that extra 3-4 days for travel time either..

Brack - I would love to drive straight through, but last time it was me and the 3 DDs and DH kept calling to see if we stopped yet. By 11 pm I told a little fib and said we were coming to a hotel, but I kept driving til 1 am. The girls were sound asleep and I still had a few hours in me.

It's close - the one I saw was like a pencil sketch or something just black and the numbers didn't link together - the 'head' was under the oo's and the 00's were the same size as the 2 and6 - but this will work, too....it's prettier!

It is hard with kids to go far by car but just the two of us can make at least 14 hours.

I meant the salmon trip! But Utah to Florida would be WOW!! I would have contimplated driving out to California next summer if my BF was still going to be there and we didn't have plans already. I would LOVE to drive across country!!

We drive for a lot of trips, but since this one is during school, there's no time for the drive. As it is we're cheating with pulling them out early for the flight on Friday (they're only allowed 5 days--assuming you get prior approval-- for trips).

In two weeks we'll be headed to visit family in SC, so that's about 10-11 hours depending on stops and traffic.

It is hard with kids to go far by car but just the two of us can make at least 14 hours.

The girls have always been very good on long drives. We have driven to Cape Cod many times. Me, my friend and 6 kids! Always took us about 8 - 9 hours with a stop at a really cool McDonalds that had a playland. Kids looked forward to it.

We drive for a lot of trips, but since this one is during school, there's no time for the drive. As it is we're cheating with pulling them out early for the flight on Friday (they're only allowed 5 days--assuming you get prior approval-- for trips).

Same for my DD. She'll miss Friday. 5 days the next week and then monday.

Hopefully i can get teachers on board this year to give her her work assignments.

Well that and i'm taking most of the trip unpaid. No vacation time till January 10.

I would LOVE to drive across country!!

We haven't made the cross country at one time but when we lived in Oklahoma City we have driven to Disneyland and WDW. That's cross country in a round about way.
