Thanks. I will be attending the memorial service tomorrow... it's being held at his high school (a private charter school). He had just graduated :( Apparently it was just a freak accident of sorts -- one of my coworkers lives in the area and drove by it. He was just practicing... doesn't sound like "intentional" speed was involved... he just didn't know how to control the bike.

What a tragedy Joy . . .

When we are young we tend to feel invincible, and take risks we never even consider when older. Our thoughts are with you and the family that I am sure is devastated . . .

I think I remember you doing this one year ago!

we did do it last year right after Slate was born...so it was about Oct. last year. My mom wanted to do it before I went back to school.

The kids were GREAT!!!! We got 2 different poses. Slate will be 1 in a few weeks and he had a confused look...it was so cute!

ok girls...I need advice...

I just had my eyebrows done at the salon. but they are not even. I did not notice until I was in my car. Now what do I do???? I think I look like a freak and my DH said you only notice if you are really looking. What would you do?

Go back and have them fix them. It happens and they should be very gracious about fixing it. If my hairdresser is not careful I wind up with a "little clump" of hair on my left side at the back hairline. It is not noticible for a couple of days. If she misses it I just call or stop by and she fixes it without any problem.

The same thing happened to me last time I went.... one was a bit longer than the other side... :( I won't be going to her anymore -- her work has gotten progressively sloppier.

It will grow out in a week or so, if it's not that bad... you could tweeze it even yourself, go back and ask for it to be fixed, or go to someone new to have them fix it for you.

And your DH is probably right -- you notice it more than anyone else... I had to point mine out to my DH and he only saw it after staring back and forth for a minute.

Oh believe me the "Sorry rules" discussion was very serious. The only people that were laughing were those of us in the other room. My mom is 74 and her sister is 84, my cousin's husband is in late 50's and we basically forced him in there to play with the two sisters, poor guy.

At one point my mom said oh wait the rules do say you can do that so here I go... now just about 5 minutes before that she told her sister she wasn't allowed to do the same thing??? Then my mom says on my next turn I will read the next rule! I thought we were going to die from laughing!!

Guess who won!!
LOL. I was laughing when I read this "Sorry rules" thing. I do not play any board games with Carl because there always is a "serious" rules discussion. My sister is the same. I needed to call another cousin re Candyland rules when she was playing once with my nephew and called to ask a question. She and Carl playing against each other gives me a stomache ache. They LOVE it and find it fun. Not me.

I loved my motorcycle. Sold it the year Alex was born. I have one positive thing I can think about with my son - Alex NEVER learned to ride a two-wheeler. I made several attempts with him, and he just lost interest. In the back of my mind has always been the bright side of that - he can't ride a motorcycle if he can't ride a two-wheeler.

Someday I hope to get one again, where if someone runs me down, at least my kids are raised. You are right Brandi, there is nothing like riding a motorcycle, but you realize just how STUPID and INATTENTIVE some drivers are.
My brother had a motorcycle - he had an accident caused by car cutting him off. Scary.

I must say the comment re 2 wheeler has me intrigued. Perhaps that will work for my daughter. I never knew there was another kid who lost interest. She has no interest in learning.

She's baaaaack. Good ol' Veruca Salt. I've ignored her thus far. She keeps telling me to look up the Apple Mac announcements today. I've been too busy at work. I figured new iMac's and iLife but other than that I just have been too busy to check. Just check she is whispering - yeah right Veruca - I hear that Willy Wonka song playing.

Oh MAN:confused3

I WANT a new toy, too. No, I don't need a new toy. No, DD does not need one of her very own.

Cracking me up!

Ohhhhhh . . . that new iMac is tempting indeed - and did you get the email about .Mac? Increasing online storage to 10gb! And, if you get iLife '08, you get some additional sharing features to eat up all that extra space!

Howdy my friends! :yay:

It's been a frustrating week! :confused3 I get home from a three week 4,000 mile trip and most of my electronics are down. I fix all of them except my high speed internet service. Comcast tells me it is either the modem or the line but they can not come out until tomorrow (almost a week! :headache: )

I do have my Sprint card but for some reason it is really slow here in my house. :surfweb:

I got rid of my motorcycle because of bad drivers too. A lady pulled out right in front of me and caused me to dump my bike. Then a week later the same thing almost got me again. The kids were still young and I decided it just wasn't worth it anymore. My younger brother was knocked off of his bike on the freeway. He slid about 160 feet into the center divider, from the center lane. Witnesses said his head was bouncing up and down on the pavement. He was face down. Luckily he had the face shield on, and it was raining, so the pavement was slick. When he came to he was okay, but cold, wet and sore. Nothing broken. He was doing about 60 when a lady changed lanes into him. His head hit the window of the car in the lane to his right. That when he was knocked out. He quit riding after that too. It was his main transportation. His bike was totaled. Insurance didn't cover full replacement cost, and even the lady's insurance didn't give him much. Since he wasn't hurt badly they just paid the hospital bills. I don't know why he didn't fight with them to get more so he could get a new vehicle. ???? He was too nice. :confused3

I would love to get a Fat Boy for the Fat Boy, but, aw, what the heck. I think the RV is more comfortable. :rotfl2:

Hi everyone! (I forgot, I was so excited to 'see' U all.

Just got home, shoveled down dinner. (Burp!). Long 10 hour day at a WalMart. Whew!
