We only knew of the british branch, who knew! All the good lines of chocolate have made in Britain on them, lol. FLAKE, SMARTIES, DOTS etc.

Pj

that's cuz you're Canadian - no one here would ever say that Britain was known for their chocolate. All our good chocolate comes from Switzerland or Belgium. Nestle actually owns Perugina which I much prefer to Godiva.

DOTS here are also dextrose based and no chocolate - they are like a gummy bear.

and we have Hershey's - calories better spent on a higher quality product. ;)

:lmao: You are really bringing back memories! I was 11 years old before I ever set foot in a restaurant! Then I went to a coffee shop with my dad when he took me to the doctor in the "big city" of Grand Junction, CO. Had a burger and was amazed at the ketchup in the squeeze bottle. :sad2: But when I reached my teenage years my sister, brother and myself did go to McDonald's in Downey, CA - the original one!- for lunch every Sunday after church. Our mom was working then also and both parents worked on Sunday, thus the "treat" of McDonalds. 5 Burgers for a dollar. My brother got 3 and my sister and I each had one. :lmao: :lmao:

that's a fun memory. I remember we only went out a few times a year - my father would always hear about some special restaurant - seafood, northern italian etc. that he wanted to go to. Unfortunately, my parents could not navigate themselves out of a paper bag and it would always be a misadventure in trying to find the way.

I remember friends going to work in McD's in high school - but I had never been in one because I did not like hamburgers. One of the gang bought a VW beetle from her earnings there and we all had transport then - zowie!!

:lmao: :lmao: She probably won't want the hash thrown on top of her spaghettios though! :rotfl:

the thought of mingling those 2 odors is just making me gag.

Anyone know that Martina McBride song about dreams and spaghettios - my kids get a kick out of that.

See, I knew it. :lmao: Yes, Sweet Man your omelets are yummy, however they take you a LONG time to make and you could not get them made, served to 3 kids and get you all out the door dressed appropriately in time for school and work.

I'm not sure if I can do this and I only have 2 kids. We have half day K and we are barely making the 12 noon bus - next year is going to be scary.

Ah, the old "You're not allowed to tell me I am wrong or you will hurt my feelings " deal! :rolleyes1 I would have just let him take them out that way (but put a sweatshirt or something in Nathan's bag for the teachers to put on). They know you aren't feeling well.

I do see your point very clearly about applying what he does for himself to the kids.

Brack is right that logic is going to fail here. Motivation is what Aaron needs - if he is properly motivated he will get it right. Sometimes the only motivation necessary is a sweet smile and sometimes you need more drastic measures. ;)

The ego is such that if you praise his efforts he will want to get it right the next time and make his wife happy. It's really just like the kids.

so you say - I really appreciate all the help you have been giving me while I have a broken rib and can barely move ;) but can I help you find a shorter shirt for Allie and a shirt with sleeves for Nathan. He'll never even know you were criticizing him. and the next time he may do a better job because he wants the reward.

Elaine, haven't found that one up here yet, will have to make a trip to the Beaches one of our two Ben and Jerry's. I have liked Chunky Monkey, banana ice cream, chocolate chunks and walnuts, for years, though.

Chubby Hubby is an old flavor - it was invented by a customer - stuff she put in ice cream for her hubby.

Ben and Jerry's has a nice website - games for the kids etc. They really love Halloween and always have neat stuff to play then.

If you ever get a chance to go to Vermont and go to the factory - it's really fun - if you like quirky road trips. Beautiful area too.

Becka....DH rarely gets the kids dressed and definitely not during the week as he is up and gone by 6am. He helps me on his day off but only after I pick the outfits out.

I do have to say he's got the good end of the deal...he only has to get himself up, dressed and off to work....I have three people to get ready before getting out the door and then a stop at daycare. But then he does agree to many Disney trips and lots of frivilous purchases.....

I like a man who agrees to frivolous purchases - right ladies?

Good morning everyone!

We are in store for lots of snow - 12-18 inches they are saying by noon tomorrow.

Schools are all closed, and it is coming down. What a day for Amy's first day back to work!

Flurries here for now. School's still on. The experts still can't agree on what will happen in this storm here... maybe heavier snow this afternoon, then sleet, then heavy rain, then sleet, finishing with snow around noon Wed.

Goodness! That's three days in the past month! :scared1: I am so glad that we haven't had to miss any days yet. It is terrible when the kids have to make them up on what was suppose to be a day off. :sad1:

Snow day here too! We decided to leave a little late to avoid some of the traffic but we didn't get more than 3 miles or so before we had to turn around. The main way out of this area has a big hill and it was completely blocked with numerous cars slid off in the ditch. When we turned around and came back there were 3 more cars that had slid off since we had just passed. :sad2: It is not worth getting in an accident for so we are back home for the day.

My rib is actually hurting more today after yesterday so maybe it is a good thing that I can stay home and rest some more.

safe driving everyone - we went out yesterday to get the grocery shopping done and the store was jam packed.

we are expecting about 10-15 inches total - our first real snowfall for this year.

I AM SO EXCITED!!!!

You all know the headaches the school has given me over the past 1 1/2 years. Well, we joined together and wrote letters to the superintendant over the past three weeks. They were turned in last Thursday. That same day trucks of sand were delivered to the school and a small plow was spreading them over the Kindergarten playground...which had been closed since the second week of school due to it being unsafe due to no ground cover and rocks present under the equipment. The kids can now play on their playground!!!! :cheer2: The teachers were given a follow up survey yesterday asking about their satisfaction and the level of respect that they receive from administration. They SLAMMED her!!!!! :cheer2: Last year when some people complained they were given a survey and the principal received a 65% DISAPPROVAL rating from them. :scared1: She was given a warning. Now we know that the other admin has been covering for her cleaning up the mess. She was so happy when I was in the office to take DD in late after her little incident yesterday morning. I think that the teachers are feeling empowered with so many parents backing them. I don't know how they could possibly allow her to stay. She may be on her way out the door very soon!!!!

Good morning everyone! Stay safe with all the cold weather out there... it did feel chillier here this morning too, but I'm sure nothing in comparison....

I took yesterday off work to watch DS who had no school....

Last night as DD was falling asleep, she complained that her stomach hurt. Woke up at 2 am to hear her coughing next to me... puking all over the bed. mmmmm yummy.

Wake up DH... he gets her in the shower to get the crud out of her hair while I start changing the sheets. Ick. At least it wasn't nearly as smelly as it could have been... I don't think she had any milk late last night. She was feeling much better after the shower and went right back to sleep, so I'm wondering if she just got a hold of something that upset her stomach. She had no temperature and was acting okay otherwise.... DH said he'd stay home with her today if needed -- they're about getting ready now so I suppose I'll find out soon if she's not well enough. Ugh - the only problem with DH being on commission is that there really isn't make-up or sick time for that!

Here is a slideshow of a birthday party that Sarah went to over the weekend. It's held at this place called Olivia's Dollhouse. The girls go in, get to pick out a princess dress, and then they do hair and makeup, have a fashion show, and then a tea party. It was waaaay too cute.

(sorry, it's about a 17 mb file so it might take awhile).
