I was wondering how people tip when they book an empty room. :confused3 Of course you could always start a thread on the main board asking others what they've done. :stir: popcorn::

And no one here will chime in right??? :rolleyes1

OK, who's staying sober on the jeep tour to make sure all of the DISers return to the ship?!! Lisa's not there to keep track of you; she has a date with the pool.

So do half the kids there... stop fretting so much about DD she will be fine. It is a Disney ship and the crew is used to having children on board.
And I want to know why those folks over on the "Pet Peeves" thread don't understand that. More than 2 had said "kids running and screaming in the halls." For Pete's sake it's a Disney Cruise, they are excited, they are children. Excited little children streaking the halls and squealing with joy should not be an irritant!

we should start getting documents soon shouldn't we? We are almost at three weeks out!
I can't wait...I can't wait...I can't wait!!!!

I say we're trying to defeat all of the germs now so that by cruise day, all is well.

Got to go to bed. Don't tell John but Sophia is still up and it is a school night. Is 11:00 too late for a 6 year old???? I am a bad mommy!!!

oh well she is Star of the Week and tomorrow is favorite toy and she is taking her "real" baby doll so I know she will want to go to school to show off Matilda, yes.. that is what she named her???

Should we all go add to the pet peeves..."The cruise was fine, but I wish DCL would start making children wear clothing on Deck 6..."

I got an email from my Dsis today......

Her and her DH are both in Air Force Reserves. My BIL (also an Andy. HA, HA) got back from a year of active duty about 18 months ago. He was in Kuwait for awhile, then back here in Dover, then at Ramstine in Germany.
Dsis was a wreck during that time with a 1 yr old and such.... (Which is how my 16 mo Dnephew ended up on the Sept 04 Wonder trip with us)

Now my Dsis is working full time for about the last year and her DH is being called up again. They say it's only for 6 months though... But the sad part is that this time they are required to take their weapons with them.

Guess where .....

Afghanistan.... They won't have any kind of cushy jobs either. It's kinda a guard the plane while we fix it or load stuff and don't get shot at or your head blown off.....

He leaves Jan 15th..... My Dsis's b-day is the 16th (There's a present)

To top matters off...Her base is closing and their unit is being relocated and they want her in a unit that travels to FL for duty weekends....Like yah with a 3 yo..... I wish i lived closer so i could help her out...She's in NE Philly.
That is such a tough situation. Prayers for you DSis and her family.

Ditto to William, but I am guessing he is in bed by now.

(if you are annoyed with my catching up and posting - just pm me - I will stop posting - of course, this adds to the count)

My mom has been watching the kids for me today. I am scrapbooking 10 cookbooks and 5 calanders for chirstmas gifts. My grandmother passed away 2 weeks after my DS was born. I am taking 22 of her best recipes and making them...along with some of her pics. It is turning out really well...but it is hard for me (emotionally.) She was the first person to pass that was someone really important to me. She and my Grandfather were the farmers and they gave land to each of their kids..so we all lived on the farm. She had 4 children and 6 grandchildren. I am making a cookbook for each. I will give them out at our family Christmas party. We are having it really early this year because my immediate family will be in Disney. I must have them complete by the first Sunday in December. The only people who know about the cookbook other than my DH are one of my aunts (she had access to the recipes) and my Grandfather (I didn't want to surprise him and upset him at the party.) My grandmother was a fabulous cook. In the winter she would bake about 500 pies plus cookies and cakes each week for market (they were produce farmers and this was their income when there were no crops.) In the spring she would continue with the pies and add candy for easter. I included a few pie and candy recipes. I also included the recipes for the dishes she would make for holidays. Anyway, I need to get back to that.

Brandi, that is about the sweetest thing I ever heard! My grandmother passed a few years back and she was the first really "close" person whom I had lost. My other grandparents were all gone by the ime I was 1. The worst part was, I was in Cape Cod at the time. My family decided not to let me know that she was in the hospital because she seemed to be doing good. The she passed during the night. They still didn't tell me because I would be driving home the next day and they didn't want me driving while that upset. I could tell something was up when my riend's DH called her on our drive home and she suddenly was more quiet. I came home to a house full of people, including my brother who lives over an hour away. I honestly thought they were just being nice... Until my dad came down the steps...

and I am sorry - but I don't like the implications that my posts are not significant.....I should have not gone over there...................
Now this is what got us into trouble before, but this time it seems like WE are not the competitive ones. We are just trying to plan our trip! ;)

HELLO!?!?!??!?! Who really cares guys??? What we have developed here is more important that any silly competition. Some of us have already met and in just three weeks more of us will start having mini meets in WDW. :) I honestly believe that the friendships we have formed will last long beyond 12/16/06. I can't picture not checking in with all of you to hear how the kids are doing or what your spouse has done now. ;) :lmao:

Yes, we will have fun trying to compete with each other trying to snag the pirates at the 1000 and 10000 marks but let's let it end there. :)
Ok, Lisa. Heard you. We will be good. :thumbsup2

What you have just been reading were quotes from our, shall we call them "friendly DIS rivals"

Amy . . .

This is your voice of reason chiming in from Columbus . . .

Remember how Jim Brown used to play football? When he scored a touchdown, he acted like he had BEEN there before, and expected to be back. No dancing, no shimmy, no in your face.

Quiet, confident and gracious victory means more than boastful victory, that is hollow when you try to tear down your opponent to build yourself up.

(Did they REALLY say Meaningless posts? How DARE they!)
