My mom and dad have DSL. They live a mile away. They told me that they do not yet have the capabilities to run on fiber optic lines (in our area) they can only run on copper lines. My parents have a 30 some year old house with copper lines. We have a new (6 year old) house with fiber optic lines. They said that the next wave of upgrades will include fiber optic lines. It can't come soon enough for me!

Whoa! DrHug just said DD told him her friend has concord grapes if we want them for wine. YES!! That is what we used year before last and I really like the finished product. Not high class, but mighty tasty! Think I'll go pick grapes tomorrow and get a 10 gal crock going of those. Yummy. Speaking of which, I'm heading off to get a bottle of that opened right now.

In September, Dina had to take in something blue for show and tell. She took in a blue Little People. Last month she had to take in something black or orange and she took in a stuffed tiger. Today it was something square. She took in a block , but "lost" it in the car on the way over. DH took her to school today...

i took a dead mouse we caught in a trap to show n tell once. (It was in a coffee can).. They boys loved it..The girls thought it was gross.

No cable, dsl or anything here but dial-up either. We have satellite for TV.

DD had a wonderful concert tonight. it was a "Diva" concert just with the women's chorus. they started the concert with "warrior" by the weir sisters. I had never heard it but it sent shivers up and down my spine. DD is an alto and you could tell that she just loves to sing. some of the girls up on stage were in my girl scout troop until 5th grade. they sure have grown up fast. the concert lasted about 45minutes and was just amazing. I remember being in chorus and feeling so full of life when I sang. I am so glad to see that DD enjoys it just as much. seeing a stage full of teenagers who really enjoy what they are doing is so great. I really needed a night like tonight. I missed GA and I missed survivor but the show that I saw was better than any of them. I guess we really should look into a DVR.

It's moments like this that those of us with younger children can look forward to.

No No NO! Concords are my favourite eating grape, we can only get them during September and I had 6 baskets over 4 weeks, .

mmmm sounds like BS to me.... Our neighorborhood is all newer homes. No problems getting DSL here.... In MD some of the more rural areas without the upgraded fibre optic lines do not get DSL...

If fibreoptics were the problem...no one in MD could get DSL... Most of our neighborhoods have been built in the last 5-10 years...

Our DSL is crazy here also. Some areas get it, some don't. And I'm talking about by street. We are one of the ones who don't. Our main lines need to be upgraded first.

BTW - speaking of WDW restaurants, Sophia will NOT EVER again enter the 50's Prime Time Cafe . . .

All the acting like your mom and clean your plate stuff she took as real, and she did NOT like it . . . She wanted us out of there ASAP!

She does not like to be fussed over at a restaurant. When her aunt had them sing HB to her at Olive Garden, she hid under the table!

I am so furious right now I could just scream

My MIL heard my DH and I talking last night about having our heater guy come back out today b/c it was supposed to be warm...yadda yadda yadda. I stressed to him several times that we needed to leave the front door open.

This AM - with her in the room - I again said to them both - Be sure to leave the front door open for the heater guys.

GUESS WHO LOCKED MY FRONT DOOR?!!!!!

Now I have to take time off work to run out there and let them in...

Karen, that totally stinks! My MIL has the opposite problem, she does not know how to shut anything. When she has been here you can tell because the garage door is wide open, the bread package is wide open in the cupboard, hot dog packages left wide open in the fridge. I asked my dh if they ever had any fresh food at all in their house or did they just eat everything stale??

I was just wondering how other schools grade. Our High School and Jr HS use this:

A+ = 98 - 100
A = 96 - 97
A- = 93 - 95

B+ = 90 - 92
B = 88 - 89
B- = 85 - 87

C+ = 82 - 84
C = 80 - 81
C- = 76 - 79

D+ = 74 - 75
D = 72 - 73
D- = 70-71

We always had the A = 93-100 etc, but I just don't get the +s and -s.
