12/04/08 3 night on the wonder: My Wedding Cruise!

I'm so jealous! I only get to do DCL once every two to three years and you are dissappointed that you only get to go twice this year! :upsidedow

I'm glad your planning cruise was good. You'll be so busy planning your wedding between now and December, the time should go by fast for you and your wedding cruise will be here before you know it. :cutie:
SOrry, didn't mean to make you jealous. It's easier to do when you're a Cast Member. In fact, as a CM, it's one of the least expensive vacations we can take! That or Hilton Head (which we loooooooove as well)

That's ok! I was just kidding! I knew you were a CM...you posted that in an earlier post. I always feel like I'm rubbing it in when I tell people I've been on five DCL cruises...now I (kind of) know how they feel. :lmao: I say "kind of" because if you've never been on a DCL cruise, you really have NO idea what exactly you're missing.

It's funny, though, every time DH and I are at WDW, we talk about quitting our jobs here and moving to FL and working for Disney! He would get a job working for the public works/street department (that's what he does here) and I would get a job for DVC doing loans (that's what I do here). See, we have it all planned out! But, in all honesty, the only thing that stops me from doing that is the fact that my entire family lives here. I just can't move away and take my kids away from their grandparents! So, I'll just have to appreciate my short (un-frequent) visits to WDW and DCL. :cutie:

 We DO have a Disney Store here (as far as I know it's staying open). Do the employees there count as CM's that would get these awesome deals too?

Hi,

I know what you mean Luckymom. As you know I'm up in Eastern Canada and we have thought the same thing at times. I even applied once when I was about 16. Got this great letter thanking me for my interest but obviously I was too young. Now, like you, I have a family and we're pretty rooted in our community. But, you never know. Maybe some day.:)

I too, have ALWAYS wanted to work at Disney - ever since I was a young child. Now my kids talk about the same thing!:)
Now wouldn't that be fun? (when they're much older, of course!):thumbsup2

DS is only 8 and we already tell him that when he goes to college he needs to get into some kind of program that has intern opportunities at WDW or DCL. :thumbsup2 We figure we've paid all this money to take him there as a child...that's the least he could do to return the favor! DD just turned 5, so we'll start drilling that idea into her head next year when she starts kindergarten! :rotfl:

I know most of us on this thread are also spending some time at WDW Resort before or after our cruise. So I just wanted to make sure you are all aware of the delay in published Operating Hours that has been occurring over the past couple of months.....

If you're a "planner" like me and staying on-property, you're looking forward to "scheduling" your days in the Parks and making your ADRs at the 180-day mark. Based on how November is going, December's Park Hours will probably not be available on June 3rd (my 180-day call date). :sad2:

Just A Reminder...if You Want To Participate In The Fish Extender Exchange, Pm Me With Your Family's Info And Your Email Address So I Can Add You To Our Spreadsheet And Email A Copy To You. :goodvibes

Info Needed: Family Last Name, First Names, Ages (so Kids Get Age Appropriate Goodies In The Fish Extenders) And Indicate If You're Interested In Joining In On The Dis Meet At Wdw Prior To The Cruise And A Dis Meet On The Ship.

How do the goodies with the fish extender work? Do all that participate bring something to contribute to a "pot" and then someone delivers? Or do we all get the list and go around and share whatever goodies we bring? :confused3

We all get the list and go around and share whatever goodies we each bring. I have read threads where people have actually picked up little goodies from the ports of call to leave in other peoples' fish extenders. I've never participated in a Fish Extender Exchange before, I'm really looking forward to this!!!

Is it too late to get in?? We are doing the land and sea November 30-December 4. This will be our very first cruise and only our second trip to the World. My DDs are 8 & 9 and we are all very excited! Passports came in the mail yesterday and we have our ADRs picked out for when we can call next week. I can't wait to see WDW and the ship all done up for Christmas! :santa: What an amazing way to get in the holiday spirit!! :cloud9:

Hi everyone my Wife and I will be joining all the Disers on the 3 Day Cruise as well. We are taking a little R and R before we do our 7 Day in WDW at Animal Kingdom Lodge. :cool1:

HI Everyone,

Just a reminder that we're quickly approaching the date where we can make ADR's for our pre-cruise stay! YAY!!

:welcome: Nah, you're not too late! I'm sure I speak for everyone else on the thread, we're glad to have you join us! This will be our sixth DCL cruise, but the excitement of getting on the ship NEVER fades!! :hyper:

P.S. - I'm a lucky mom of two as well!! :thumbsup2

My DS is 8 now, and will be 9 by the time vacation comes. My DD just turned 5. Sometimes I feel cursed instead of lucky...my kids can be the sweetest children ever and then they can turn into little devils! But, I still love them both with all my heart!

:welcome: Glad to have you joining us, as well!!! Have you stayed at AKL before? We visited there in Sept. (We stayed at SSR), and AKL is just AMAZING!!!

HI Everyone,

Just a reminder that we're quickly approaching the date where we can make ADR's for our pre-cruise stay! YAY!!

:dance3: Yep...I can make mine on 6/2!!! We only have a few to make, and we're flexible, but I'm still so excited, this will be the first time we've done any ADR's.

Ahoy mateys! DH and I just signed up for our first Disney Cruise. :woohoo:We've visited the parks lots and thought it was time to expand our horizons. We plan on crusing first, then visit family for a few days, then on the the parks. We would love to meet up with other DISers.
:disrocks:

Is November 30 your first day? I thought that my date for ADR's was 6/3 but maybe it's 6/2. :cool1: Can't wait!!!

If your Disney stay begins 11/30, then 6/3 is correct for your ADRs. :thumbsup2

Good Luck to all, seeing as it is highly unlikely that we will know the Park Hours when we call to make ADRs.
I'm trying to get a late-ish dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern, but from what I've read on the NOV Late Hours thread, the latest ressie available at MK has been 5:45pm.
