12/01/07 Western December 1, 2007 - Let's get the party started!

Hi there Gail! :wave2:
I am Jill and will be traveling with my 2 sons on the cruise with you. It will be our first and we are thrilled and anxiously awaiting. I can only speak for myself, but I haven't been posting a lot because it is a super busy time for me as I'm working tons of overtime for trip goodies and trying to get organized for the trip. Also Thanksgiving is coming up as well, so there is that to plan and my head is spinning at this point. :upsidedow

Hope to meet you abord! It won't be long now.
:hyper:

Hi Gail: Welcome, so glad you'll be traveling with us! My son & I also have late seating as well. I haven't had much of an opportunity to post as well, but at least I try to catch up on all the postings! I sure hope our group tries to organize a meet onboard. Would love to meet all of you!

Susan

The boys and I have late sitting also. I think they are looking forward to the food most of all. :)

Well, its off to work for me! Maybe I'll watch the Magic sailing today on the webcam. Soon it will be us. YIPPIE!:boat:

Wow.. now it's real!!! Our cruise docs came on Wednesday.. I have been dragging my feet about getting in here to share!!! No upgrade for us, I guess... got that SPR plus the FL resident discount... guess our deal is already TOO sweet!!!

Gotta start thinking about shopping for clothes...

My kids and I also have late seating. My parents will also be there. Last time we all went, we were placed with another family that had kids and a grandma along. Disney does a pretty good job of matching people for seating sometimes. My mom still keeps in touch with the other grandma she met. The dad was not so fun, but we had a good time anyway.

Are we meeting by the Mickey slide on the first afternoon? I'll have to look back and see if I can find where somebody mentioned that. I'll just put that on my list of things to do, right after laundry.

We are actually going to be in WDW starting on the 28th, so I am nearly in panic mode. Just bought a bunch of clearence clothes at Kohl's today, what a great sale! 80%off regular price, then another 30% off that. Found some great capris and skorts. Now I just have to pack.

Small world....my DW and I are also going to Disney World on the 28th...staying at the Animal Kingdom Villas....then on Friday we have to drive to New Port Richey to pick up dear MIL and drive to the port on Saturday....then drive her home the following Saturday....but some great times in between......
Three weeks....almost 20 days and counting.....
Tom:banana: :santa:

missmulan here checking in! we are still on....we booked thru DCL, cat. 10 and still no upgrade. that's okay, we have one of the secret porthole rooms.

we have not received our cruise docs yet. anyone received theirs??

Add the boys and I to the list! We're flying down on the 28th and staying at Coronado Springs. I've just been trying to figure out how to fit all the things we want to do into 2.5 days. I also want to relax at the pool, and check out all the Christmas decorations at the hotels etc, etc, etc. I think we'll be running through AK to get to Expedition Everest and I'll be literally dragging Ian and Devin by the ears to the Finding Nemo show with me.
We've never seen the Osborne Lights, so I'm planning that before going to MVMCP on the 29th. Hopefully we can get the attractions we want to do at MK all done that night because we'll be at Epcot (my favorite) all day on the 30th. (I've arranged a double secret event for Ian's 15th b'day at the Coral Reef - :ssst:

OMG I can't believe that all the planning and waiting and dreaming will be coming to an end soon and we'll be aboard the Magic.

I'll be the lady secretly bawling behind my sunglasses on the deck at the sail away party.

Look forward to meeting you all!
J

I have an Ian, too. But he is almost 9.

We are staying off property at Bonnet Creek. We have gotton so spoiled at having all that room, we just love our timeshares.

We are going back to Bonnet Creek after the cruise as well. We are doing th parks, but we are also going to do an airboat ride through the everglades.

I cannot wait!

Hey - great taste in names! :thumbsup2 Bonnet Creek really looks lovely and the airboat ride sounds like a blast.

Hi All,

We will be leaving around 10 PM on Thanksgiving Night to head to WDW. We are driving straight through, so we should arrive at WDW around 1 PM or so on Friday 11/23. We are staying at the Pop Century. We will be doing the 5PM Candlelight Processional on 11/25 and MVMCP on 11/27. It's great to see so many people get upgrades. We were so excited when we got ours. It looks like most people have late dinner seating, we have early dinner seating. It is easier for our DD to stay awake for a show or activity rather than at the dinner table. Well I gotta go get ready for the Steelers game.

MissMulan---yes, we got our docs a couple days ago... of course, I live 45 minutes from WDW!! It was mailed from Celebration with UPS 3-Day select. Guessing you should all be getting them soon!!! HOORAY for ALL of us!!!!

Someone has posted on the forum that DCL no longer give out the lanyards at the port - will have to remember now to pack someting to hold my KTW.

Trying to sort out date we are arriving in Orlando, accommodation and flights today. Hoping to get tickets to Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party the night before the cruise.
We need to return to UK on the Saturday the boat docks, so will have a long wait at the airport that day.

Have also read the ship will be decorated - is there any special activities on board?

Tried to book Palos - as usual no luck. Wanted to try to get a brunch again. A group of us "ladies" had the private room last cruise, which was fun. Wanted to get hubby involved this time as I think he would enjoy it.

Anyone know what the weather will be like in both Orlando and on the cruise - should I pack trousers and jumpers?

Gail....the weather in Orlando can be cool at this time of year at night and early in the morning. What We have experienced is you need a light jacket or sweatshirt in the evening.

The ship is always decorated for the holidays at this time of year. They have the Christmas tree lighting, have a special reading of the Night Before Christmas with Mrs. Claus and carolers performing holiday music. The characters are also dressing in the holiday theme for pictures.

Less than 3 weeks to go group!

Tom:banana: :santa:

Thanks Tom for the info on weather - must remember to pack something warm. Haven't done a cruise this late in the year before.

Hoping to arrive in Orlando on 27th or 28th and spend a few days meeting up with friends and shopping (can't forget to buy some water for the ship :rotfl: ).

Hi everyone,

We are now officially on this cruise!
Was able to book at cat6 at a great rate.
It will by myself, Gail and husband John. We are in room 6034 and have late seating.

Now I am in panic mode as this holiday is a few weeks/months earlier than planned, so need to let family know (gently) that we are going on this cruise, book leave, sort out flights, think what I need to buy etc.

Is there a DIS meet for this cruise - don't really have time to start reading all messages. Is anyone taking fish extenders, or stockings?

We were on the Sept '06 11 night cruise and both transatlantic cruises to/from the Med this summer - anyone else on those cruises?

Hi Gail,
I thought your name looked familiar. I was on the May transatlantic repo cruise....and I am trying to remember if I met you at any of the meets....

I am planning to take the fish extender a diser had so graciously given us because our son loved to see all the treats and surprises that were left for him each day. We will just get the goodies before we leave, and pop them in there ourselves. He loved that.

I will be at All-star Music for 2 nights before the cruise, and at All-star Movies for 2 nights after the cruise. My DS5 and I will be at WDW on Friday before the cruise, and DH, DS5 and I will be at WDW for 2 1/2 days after the cruise. Sorry if that is too much info...I am just excited to go back for a few days and see all of the Christmas decorations. I did not think that would happen again for a long time. :)
