12/01/07 Western December 1, 2007 - Let's get the party started!

Wow! That is all great news! I am so happy for you all! We have a guarantee verandah. I guess i should check the web to see what we have assigned to us.

Does anyone know the nights for each show? or where I can find that information?

Thanks!

Shellie:hippie:

You can check out old navigators and menus on castawayclub. com

Don't put the spaces in between the . and the com. It will only do *** on my post if I do it all together.

It would be very nice to get an upgrade, but I don't know if we would since we booked rooms next to my parents (and requested specific staterooms) when we booked onboard the Magic in May 2006. A ton of our thread members on our Med cruise got upgrades, especially those that changed to a Category 12 to save major money. About a month before our cruise, DCL lowered the Category 12's drastically down to barely a couple of thousand for the 11 day Med cruise. Most of everyone got a category 9 or above. We knew if we risked it, we'd have been in a 12 since we have zero luck.

Congrats to everyone that was upgraded!

OMG! Can I just eat my words? I decided to check my cruise itinerary out of curiosity and what do you know? We were upgraded to 8504. I could hardly believe my eyes. The only other things I've ever won was a plant when I was in 1st grade and a ham when I was in college at a basketball game (I didn't have a refrigerator in my dorm room). I sure hope my parents got upgraded or I'll feel pretty bad. We wanted to be next to one another. Off to go see room reviews!

Hi, It has been so long since I have checked on this board that I will just start over from the beginning. My name is Lori and I will be sailing with my mom, Peggy and my daughters Kate (10) and Abby (10). I just caught up on my reading all the pages that I have missed and now I'm really getting excited. We just finished shopping for my daughters today, they have all the clothes they need to look beautiful but if I don't get busy I may have to show up for formal night in my pajamas. Oh, we also got an upgrade. We started off in a Category 3 because my dad was going and we knew he would spend a lot of time in the cabin. He backed out on us, so we downgraded to a category 6. I just checked and now we have a category 4. I don't really care where they put me as long as I'm on that ship. I really need a vacation and am looking forward to this and meeting everyone.

:happytv: :wave2: hello,
Check on the Disney cruise line site to see if they assigned you a cabin number yet that is/was how I found out it will be weeks before they tell you, if ever...
If you need any help with a door sign :disrocks: just let me know and I will make you a green Mickey one..
have a good geekend alsoooo.
gg

We would love a sign! Thanks a bunch.

Nope, still no room number yet. DD is crossing off a calendar we made for each day. She thinks its not fast enough so sometimes she crosses two of them...

My Bad. I just found it.

This is our first cruise ever. We only booked about a month ago and chose the Cat 12's because it was quite pricey for anything else, as compared to booking a year in advance. :thumbsup2 We'll try to book much earlier in advance next time!

We'll be in room 2026. Also at second dinner seating, since we eat pretty late on normal days anyways. popcorn::

Has anyone rented those Electric Cars in Key West? We can't find any DCL excursions that we were interested in but the Elec. Cars sound like a fun idea. Rent them and drive around. We have a GPS that we could use so as to not get lost too.:scared: I hope. I found a couple sites that rent them by the hours.

They also come pick you up and drop you off. Any comments=much appreciated popcorn::

Hi,

Thinking of joining this cruise (haven't decided wherther to go for this or 8th December - this cruise is the cheepest).

This will be our 4th cruise this year (I think I am addicted !!)

Now that's strange. I just looked at the room location and its not on the inside statesroom. Its actually on the outside. Did I get an upgrade too? I don't want to get my hopes up but it would be quite good news.

I guess it could be on the outside but with mirrors and no portholes...

It looks like it's a category 9 with a porthole window! Congratulations!

If you check out the link below, you can see what category it is in.

Sweet! Why/How did we get it (NOT complaining just curious!)?

We're new, no clubs or Disney Cards, etc.

On the other hand, this will definitely weigh in on who we cruise on next:teacher: ... Never mind, I think I answered my question!

I am trying to post some pics of our last cruise on the Wonder. I can't seem to figure it out! can someone help me to insert a pic into my post?

Thanks!
Shellie

I think newbies like us aren't allowed to post pics. I get errors when trying to do that or linking websites. ;)

Hello fellow cruisers...upgrades....oh....we wish we would get one....funny....the only time we got an upgrade was for the cruise that they cancelled due to the sickness.....we are now cruising to our 14th Disney cruise.....so if the pixie dust upgrade God's are listening....well take one and never complain.....seriously.....looking forward to this cruise...spending 3 nights in the Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas before we cruise....currently in stateroom 2577....but we did get the Florida resident rate since my MIL is cruising with us and she is a Florida resident.....so.....welcome aboard....looking to seeing you all!

Yeah, there is a minimum number of posts needed before being able to post pictures. I didn't even notice how many she has, and I'm not sure how many the minimum number is to post them. It's probably on the FAQ sticky on the website.

From what I understand after reading several threads on the probability of upgrades on DCL, they upgrade if spaces are available in higher categories so they have more openings for people to book at the "cheaper" categories.

Wow, I am impressed by everyone's upgrades!!
I am pretty positive those that booked with really good rates like Florida resident, CM and TA rates probably won't get upgraded...me (TA) last of all. They are probably thinking that we got a good enough deal, and that is fine with me! LOL

Congrats on the upgrades everyone!

Hanover, I know what you mean about being spoiled on a longer cruise. We just were on the 14 day Med repo cruise, and are thinking 7 days is just too short! :goodvibes

Congrats on the upgrades.... We got an upgrade on our very first cruise. We booked a Cat 9, and got Cat 6. It was a very nice surprise for us right before our wedding and honeymoon cruise. It really helped us releive a little worry and stress.

Of course the biggest surprise was on the end of the cruise when we won the jackpot bingo game. Oh yea...we were the single winners, and didn't have to split a penny of that $6200 jackpot with anyone, not even the U.S. Government !! Yes, I said 6 THOUSAND, 2 HUNDRED DOLLARS !!!

We just learned that we got upgraded from a category 9 to a 5. The ship seems relatively empty when compared to other cruises in the same timeframe.

Anyone from New Jersey/New York area?

Hi everyone,

We are now officially on this cruise!
Was able to book at cat6 at a great rate.
It will by myself, Gail and husband John. We are in room 6034 and have late seating.

Now I am in panic mode as this holiday is a few weeks/months earlier than planned, so need to let family know (gently) that we are going on this cruise, book leave, sort out flights, think what I need to buy etc.

Is there a DIS meet for this cruise - don't really have time to start reading all messages. Is anyone taking fish extenders, or stockings?

We were on the Sept '06 11 night cruise and both transatlantic cruises to/from the Med this summer - anyone else on those cruises?
