11 yo boy shoe size

My DS is 10 & he wears a size 5

My son is 11, 5'2", and wears a men's size 8 (which doesn't really fit him well because he is still so thin).

Kids overall have bigger feet today then they did when we were growing up. It was unusual to find a woman with shoes larger then size 9 or so, my DD11 is already in a 9 and she is pretty average for kids in her class. DS11 wears a men's 8 1/2, DS14 wears a men's 8. I wear a 9 but that has been since I had kids, I wore a 7 1/2 when we got married. DH wears a 10 1/2 and is 6' tall.

My son just turned 11 1/2. His shoe size is 12 extra wide. He is 5'8" and about 140lbs! Huge. He passed me in height several months ago and is about to pass DH in shoe size.

Here is an interesting link for you.

It is a height predictor. Takes into consideration parent height. I've been tracking my son with it for a few years and it always says he will be 6'5 at age 18. I hope he ends up a bit shorter than that. It is fun to look at anyway.

My son's age has matched his shoe size since he was 9. Even at 10 1/2 he wore a 10.5!

He's now 13 1/2 and wears a 13 1/2.... omgoodness... and I wear a woman's size 6 1/2!

Neat. It says my oldest son will be 5'10" at 18. Weird, that is how tall I am and DH is 6'2". I guess he got the recessive short gene. :p My younger one will be 6'1". Neither is the tallest in their class, but the younger one is definately one of the taller ones so that sounds about right.

DS 11 just started wearing a men's size 5. He's tallish, but not super tall yet. DH is 6'5".

ETA: DH just bought him a new pair of sneakers yesterday- he's not a 5, he's a 7 and a half.

MagicalMom --- I originally would have said, yes, your son's feet is big for an 11 year old, but I read every one of these posts and I guess my son has average feet (maybe small?). My DS10, who just turned 10, is a size 5.5. And he's one of the tallest in the class.

How tall is your son?

I remember reading an article about kids are getting bigger feet at an earlier age and the average show size is now getting larger.

It's interesting to see the differences in kids. DS #1 is 16, 6' tall, and wears a 12 1/2 or 13 shoe. DS #2 is 14, 6' tall and wears a 12EEEE shoe.

I think both of them still have some growing to do! :confused3

Meanwhile I just keep buying groceries!!!!

My DS11 wears a boys 5. However I am barely over 5 feet and wear size 5. My DH wears 9. My kids will not be tall. (DH is 5'9"). But my boys are very athletic - small feet or not. They are fast little things - I guess you need speed to play sports if you don't have tallness!

Side note - they did a study on athleticism. If your ring finger is bigger than your pointer finger, you should be athletic and fast. Don't know if it is true, but that is a study that one of the Universites spent money on!

My son, now fully grown, wears a size 14 shoe. Not an easy size to find.
He's 6'4". His Dad is also 6'4" and he only wears a size 12 1/2. :confused3
I had a difficult time finding him running shoes in his size when he started wearing a 14.

DS14 is 6'3" and wears a 13. Probably 14 by now :lmao:

I think at 11 he was wearing about a 10, but it's hard to remember. That kid was 23" long at birth and hasn't stopped growing yet. At school they call him Tiny.

DD9 (almost 10) has huge feet. She wears a womans 9.5. I really wish she'd stop. She's already 5'3" or 5'4".

My DS11(just turned 11 a few weeks ago) wears a size 9 mens shoe. His feet do look big to me. :)

My DS10 wears a size 8 mens and is 5' tall. His brother (now 16) wore a size smaller at that age and is now 6'2" and wears a 12-5 to 13 shoe.

DS wears an 8.5 or 9 by now but I'm not surprised. DH wears a 13. :) I'm the one having a hard time with him being able to see eye-to-eye with me & having a larger foot than mine! It's a good thing I mastered the "mom evil eye" a long time ago because otherwise I'd be doomed! :rotfl:

I have an 11 and 12 year old. They are about the same height - 5'3" and the 12 year old wears size men's 9.5 and the 11 year old wears a men's size 11. Go figure! Dad wears size 12 and he is just over 6 feet.
We just cruised and needed an extra suitcase for the three of them and the shoes. These big shoes take up a lot of space. 3pairs of men's dress shoes, three pairs of dock shoes three pairs of leather sandals, three pairs of swim shoes. They wore their sneakers! That is 24 big shoes. My three pairs of little sandals took no room at all. (But I beat them on clothes!)

My DS (11) is wearing a men's 9.5. He usually has a foot growth spurt this time of year, so we'll see if it holds true again this year (new shoes as Christmas presents :thumbsup2 ). He's about 5'2", that's how tall I am and we see eye to eye now. He is expected to be about 6'1 to 6'2". Dh had his growth spurt late, around 16 years old when he finally shot up, he's 6'. So I think it will be awhile before DS hits his full height.
