11 yo boy shoe size

I was going to reply but realized this thread was from Nov 2006 - Two months after I first joined the DISboards:eek:

ds wore a size 9 men's at 11. He is now in a men's 10 1/2 at 13. Dh wears the same size and is 6'2". Ds is 5'3" and is getting very frustrated about not having a growth spurt yet. He's been adding about 2 inches per year since he was small, but alot of the boys in his grade have shot up since last school year. Since I'm 5'9" and Dh is over 6', I keep telling him it's just a matter of time. His current goal in life is to be taller then me.

Ds was over 21" at birth and weighed 7' 12 oz. The nurses told me to be very happy that he came 3 weeks early! So far no signs of puberty.

I love zombie posts sometimes! That same son, whose goal in life at 13 was to be taller then me, will be 21 this year. He's now just over 6 ft. and wears a size 13 1/2 shoe. I'd say he met his goal lol. He never did have that big growth spurt he so badly wanted. On the other hand, he's thrilled that he has at least 2 inches on his older brother!

Seems like a lot of old threads are popping up today.

My 11 year old wears a mens size 7.5. My DD is 16 and wears a womens 10 (same size as me).

But none of the sizes surprise me as my father is 6'5" with size 15 feet. His shoes are usually custom ordered. My aunt (his sister) is almost 6 feet and wears womens 11.

We grow them tall with big feet in my family :rotfl2:

I am 11, and my shoe size is a 9, but for a 11 year old the average shoe size is 7. When you are 12 your size should be 8. So it should grow one size up everyyear.

My son just turned 11 1/2. His shoe size is 12 extra wide. He is 5'8" and about 140lbs! Huge. He passed me in height several months ago and is about to pass DH in shoe size.

Here is an interesting link for you.

http://parentcenter.babycenter.com/calculators/heightpredictor/?s_evar2=height predictor&s_prop2=height predictor

It is a height predictor. Takes into consideration parent height. I've been tracking my son with it for a few years and it always says he will be 6'5 at age 18. I hope he ends up a bit shorter than that. It is fun to look at anyway.

I used that calculator for fun on my "kids" who are now grown and mostly grown. It was several inches high at age 2 for all three of them. My older son who is now 25 was predicted to be 5'8" from age 4 on, and that is just about exact. My younger son is 16, so he may still grow. For the ages that I did between 4 and 10, it said 5'9" (about where he is). Based on his 15-year old height, though, it's saying 5'11"...we'll see. My 22-year old daughter's jumped around by a few inches but it pretty much landed her in the right vicinity.

Didn't realize that I got caught in an old one! And I don't see how to delete my post...

Pretty cool to see that old post! That kiddo that was 11 1/2 is now 20. The height predictor had him at 6'5....he's 6'4. Shoes are size 15W, usually.
DS 18 was predicted to be 6'1, he's 5'11. DS16 was predicted to be 6'3. He's 6'1....is probably not finished growing!

I was familiar with the double the height at age two method. That determined my daughter will be 6 feet 4 inches! She's 8 years old now and 5 feet 2 inches tall and wears a women's size 10 shoe. I can't get her interested in any sports!!!

My 11 year old wears a men's 9 1/2 or so. He's about 5'3 and 130#. My 8 year old wears a men's 7 1/2 and is just shy of 5 foot and about 105#. I grow them big...

My almost 13 year old wears a size 4.5 boys. But he's small in general, 4'5" tall and around 65 pounds. He keeps hoping one day he'll grow but I doubt it'll be as much as he wants to.

Wow, my 10 year old son is in a size 4. I have a size 5 shoe though, but my husband is an 11. Who knows!

This thread is interesting. My 8 year old daughter is wearing an adult woman's size 6! She is almost 5 five feet tall.

Not to judge :rolleyes1.....but I find it interesting that the first posts by these two posters are answering this question. Whatever floats your boat I guess!!! :flower1:

Welcome to the Dis, young man. I don't know many 11 year olds on this board.

DS is 10 & wears a size 6, so 11 wearing a size 8 doesn't seem too outrageous.
