11-7-10 Wonder cruise meet

Ditto that for us - we just aren't interested in doing any excursions or spending time in Nassau. We probably feel that way because its our first cruise and we're just excited to stay on the ship.

The last few months have been sheer crap at work, but fortunately evertything that is going on has a deadline of November 1st, so I know that: (1) I will be done before vacation, and (2) I will need a vacation!

DH talked to our girls' Principals this week about taking them out of school. We've done this every year, but DD14 is in high school now and I was a bit concerned (but I was also adamant that regardless, we were going to take our vacation). But it went really well, no problems, so that's one more thing taken care of.

Now to start packing...

Glad you got it worked out with the school and that the deadlines are before the cruise.

YEAH.....I got my FE in the mail today! It is beautiful!

Yay!!!:woohoo:

My 2 suitcases are out! starting to toss things in and now to figure out how to fit it all!

Will have to post photos when they are done tomorrow but we are tie dying shirts with Mickey Heads to wear when we get on board for our photo!

29 Days!!!! We are under the 30 day Mark people!!!!! WHOOOOHOOOO! :dance3: :cheer2:

Please keep us in your thoughts. My aunt Mary died tonight and we are really upset right now. She was really sick but it doesn't make it any easier.

We did finish our shirts but right now I don't even know how to look at them at this point.

Please hug and keep your family close and appreciate every minute you have with them.

Amy, I'm so sorry. Your family is in my prayers tonight.

Thanks we appreciate it. everything is just swirling right now trying to help notify people, and making sure to keep in touch with everyone to make sure they are doing ok.

So the funeral and wake went well, we will miss her for sure but we are getting through it.

We are packing for the cruise each day we pull out more things we think we need, then we will go through it all and take out half of it before we even put it all in the suitcases. I can't believe how slow time seems to be taking but I know once we hit teens then single digits time is going to fly by!

My father he lives 45 mins from us, got a temporary job Thursday night overnight! It was a one night job, it was unloading the Disney Magic after it arrived in port from its Dry Dock. They took off everything that they had removed, but wanted to keep as their property I guess. He said they had large cargo boxes on the top deck that they had to remove by a crane!!!

I was completely jealous but then I remember that we can rub it in his face that we are on the cruise in about 22 days!!! LOL So we got the better deal. A little funny ha ha moment, he put his lunch down on what was at the time an empty forklift, while he was talking to us, and he didn't notice someone get in it. They drove off with his lunch bag! ha ha....he got it back but he had to chase the guy down!

How is everyone else doing on preparations for the cruise?

You are inspiring me to get it in gear. I spent the morning getting suitcases out and ready, going over my (numerous!) checklists, and now I'm headed to WalMart for new socks for everyone  !

I need to sort things by time-of-use: one small suitcase is just for toiletries, one suitcase for 11/6 at CIS, cruise carry-ons, cruise checked luggage, and then WDW luggage (we're at the World for eight days after the cruise). It's a challenge even for someone a little OCD like me.

I'm trying to decide how much to put in carry-ons versus in checked luggage. I know to put anything we need the afternoon of 11/7 (meds, swimsuits, sunscreen, etc.) in our carry-on, as well as bottles of water (and any other liquids;)). Am I missing anything?

We are at the CI&S too!!!! we are planning on getting there around 3pm, we will go to Jetty Park watch the Magic sail out to sea and then Dinner at Rusty's down on the channel.

Sounds like you have it planned out and I don't see anything your missing.

:)

I have sent out the final list for the fish extender. Its getting closer to the cruise and if any rooms change please either let me know at the Meet the first day or go to our stateroom 6060 and in top pocket of our FE there will be a copy of the master list. Update the room and as people deliver check the list to make sure nothing has changed!

We got our FE gifts ready today. It was soo exciting that it is finally time to start actually getting ready to go. It is soo close, I wonder now how we are going to contain ourselves the last week before we go! We are spending a few days in Florida beforehand and visiting Magic Kingdom, so that should help. :cool1:

Awesome! Time at MK will make it go by quicker!!

We went to food and wine festival on Saturday and as we were driving home afterwards as we had left around 5pm we saw a few DCL buses go by and we were so excited!

Getting all the FE gifts ready and starting to gather up items to pack. We have a couple of days at the World first! Woo Hoo!! Looking forward to meeting you all at the meet. It is going to be a fantastic time. I can see us all now with a sailaway drink in hand and the horn blowing "when you wish upon a star." I can hardly stand the wait!!

I can't believe how close we are getting! I am so excited to get onboard, relax, and meet all you wonderful dis-ers :) I am feeling really lazy right now, haven't packed a thing! Good news is I took the 2 days off before the cruise so I will be able to knock it all out then.
