11/27/04 the sequel.....

Jesse, when's your birthday? My oldest DS, Andrew, will be celebrating his birthday onboard too (November 30!). If you let me know your birthday, I can add it to the list.

This is mine and Stephanie's first cruise! :teeth:

What are some of the activities you guys are looking forward to, on the ship or in the ports?

We are both going to do the Stem to Stern Wine Tasting and are looking forward to dinner at Palo as well.

I can't speak for Stephanie on everything, she can do her own post and tell ya'll what she's looking forward to! :p

On Board I'm excited about the Art of Entertainment series, Bingo, some of the shows. I know a lot of people on these boards don't like Hercules but I think it will probably be my favorite. I loved the movie and I thought the soundtrack was fabulous! I'm also REALLY looking forward to formal night (my birthday at that!) I can't wait to dress up like the Princess that I am. ;) I was thinking about checking out some of the dance lessons too. I think the Galley tour will be interesting. I'm also looking forward to getting 1 or 2 treatments at the spa. Have any of you ever done anything there? I was thinking about that seaweed wrap thing, sounded nice. ::yes::

As for in the Ports, we haven't done too much planning there yet. Especially for St. Maarten. I know we'll do the typical shopping. None of the excursions really did anything for us. We didn't want to be tied down to someone elses schedule for most of the day. In St. Thomas we know we want to do the Paradise Pointe Tramway and have lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe'.

So what are you guys looking forward to? :)

Hi everyone, I,m getting sooo excited now, we ordered our theme park tickets and over night airport hotel in London yesterday and i,ve just watched a video of the Disney Wishes fireworks-amazing!!
Dont know what i,m looking forward to first!!
Any info on ports of call?? I,ve spent the last 9 months researching Western cruise itenary to find out were on Eastern!
I feel like a 6 year old i,m so excited its great to be able to communicate with other fellow cruisers, see you all soon.:bounce:

This will be DCL cruise #8 for my wife and me, and # 5 for my two daughters going with us on this one. Second cruise for each of their mates. We are lucky to live near the port so we don't have the extra expenses most of you have to deal with, such as airfare, hotels, transportation, etc. We also try to take advantage of offseason florida resident rates. This is our third Eastern.

Last year we had a family reunion with all of our kids/grandkids on the same cruise as we are signed up for this year. It was a lot of fun - a once in a lifetime event - but we knew when we planned it we would be limited in what we could do because 4 of the 6 grandkids were under 3 years old. No shore excursions and a lot of time around the Mickey pool.

This time we will miss the grandkids and our other 5 kids, but we are looking forward to an all adult experience. As great as the Magic is with kids, it is even better without!!!

Haven't decided on excursions, but will probably do the Champaign Catamaran at St Thomas. It's a little pricey, but we did it before and it was really well done.

Since it will be my wife's BDay on board ( a big one - starting a new decade of life - I'm too smart to say which one!! Actually, I'm not that smart - I've finally realized there are some things that get me in big trouble!!) , I'm sure I will get the Romantic Escape at Sea package. Never considered it before until I read the thread about it on the boards the past few weeks.

We will definitely do the Rainforest and Brunch! Highly recommend the brunch for anyone who has never done it!!

I think someone asked about booking on board. We did it for this cruise, and I compared the rate we got on board with our Florida Resident Rate we got last year. On board they were offering a 10% discount plus $200 on board credit. room costs for last year versus this year, same category (6) were within a few dollars of each other, and the Florida Resident Rate did not include the $200 on board credit. I'm sure we will book one on board this time too.

Even with seven cruises behind us, we still look forward to the next with the same excitement as the first. Actually more, because on the first, we had no idea how great it was going to be!! This board makes it even more exciting (although my wife thinks I'm nuts spending so much time on it!!)

Bob and Mary

PS Just noticed as I was reviewing the post, tomorrow (Sunday) we will be at the 250 day mark!!! Seems like a long way away, but the days go by fast!!!

Thanks the the reminder, posting just to see my countdown clock!

Did anyone figure out when our 60 day mark is yet? Want to be up bright and early to make our excursion ressies.

In Cleveland, it is not Spring yet. As a matter of fact, it's snowing right now!

This is our first cruise, so I'm not sure what I'm looking most forward to. We are DVC members and have been to WDW the last two years in October. We went to MNSSHP both times and we all loved it. The weather was great in early to mid Oct. Hot enough to use the pools at night and water parks during the day. Last year the shows and Halloween parade were pretty much the same as the year before, so we thought we would try something new. We picked November so we could see the Xmas decorations and go to MVMCP this time around.

If we like MVMCP and the weather is ok, I think we will get on a schedule of alternating an Oct trip & cruise one year and a Nov or Dec trip and cruise the next. I'm pretty certain we will rebook on board.

I don't think I am up for WDW in the heat of the summer. Right now our kids are young enough that missing school is not a big deal (DD in Kindergarten this year and DS is in nursery school). When they're older I know we'll be subject to going on their vacations and dealing with the heat and/or the crowds.

I know that we'll book the Romantic Escape at Sea Pkg based on what I read about it on the boards. We'd like to do a brunch and dinner at Palo. I'm not sure which dinner to miss (any thoughts?????).

We'd like to do the wine tasting and maybe dance lessons (I did not know about those!). I think we'll do a couple excursions. I started looking in my Passporter about them. On CC I think we'll just hang out with the kids.

I'd like it if the kids could meet some others their age before the cruise or early on so that they will want to spend a little bit of time in the clubs. We are coming in early afternoon on Fri before the cruise. We are staying at the Ron Jon resort.

It would be nice to have some adult dinners or an evening or two. Our DD will have just turned 7 when we cruise and will be in first grade. She is a little shy. She loves to swim and stay busy. Our DS will be 5. He is very outgoing and friendly. Also a big fan of swimming.

My husband's parents George and Dolores are coming with us. They are our regular companions to WDW. They are fun and outgoing. Great travel companions.

Have a great day everyone!!!:wave2:

We're repeats, too. For me this will be DCL cruise #9 (I think #5 for Sheila) but my 17th cruise overall. I just got off a 10-day cruise to the Panama Canal a couple of days ago, and booked another 10-day for November 2005.

Since we've both done the Disney cruises a number of times we focus on relaxing and don't worry about the shows, excursions, etc. The cruise is simply a week away from work, being unreachable & just taking it easy! This is how we approached the western DCL itinerary last November, and the 3-day this past February, and it was wonderful!

We'll definitely have dinner in Palo one night, but beyond that have no plans ahead of time...we'll just go with the flow!

Whew! I am trying to get back into the flow of exercising and golly it is rough! LOL Remind me never to fall out of routine again! It is too hard to get back in it! I just got back from walking with a friend, we whipped out 3 miles. Last night I did 2 and boy was I sore this morning and all day at work!
I do not know what excursions we will be doing on this trip. I also have a 4 day Wonder cruise booked for just DH and I 2 months before the Magic sailing.
The weather is beautiful here. It was 80 deg here today! Gorgeous! How is everyone else doing?

:wave2:
Hi everyone, weather cold, wet and windy over here (as usual)
dzneprinscess have you got any good dieting/fitness tips I could really do with some! I wake up every morning and say today I,m gonna be good and guess what? I,ve been to the pub for lunch!!
fish and chips, I,m not gonna mention the curry and bar of chocolate I had last night!!:teeth:

Oh honey ! No you are asking the wrong girl! LOL I am fightin the same battle as you, for the most part I am on the Atkins diet, but then I have days like today, when I just wanted a sandwich and chips yaknow? I just remember when I started the WISH board back in July, I promised my self that I would keep drinking my water and keeo moving. SO I am trying to get back into moving. I just came back from a 2 mile walk with one of my boys. I would have gone more, but I had to go to the bathroom real hasty like! LOL :hyper:
I figure if I at least drink my water and move my bootie I may not be skinny but at least I will be healthier! LOL
eeyoreandpooh, I am not a diabetic, but being on the Atkins diet cuts out pretty much all sugar for me except on days I cheat, IE today! So I am pretty much like a diabetic when it comes to food. Why do you ask? Are you diabetic?
Whats everyone up to this weekend? We are just gonna laze at the house. My DH has to work a 6th day tommorow, so it will be me and all 4 hooligans!

This weekend friends from out of town are on their way to spend the night tonight. About 40 of us are surprising my boss tonight with a murder mystery dinner train ride to celebrate her retirement. The friends used to work with her at her previous job, so we all know each other. Should be a good time!

Other than that, I finished up taxes for a big client today, and should write another article for MousePlanet tomorrow, then it's back to work on Monday. Next weekend I'm in WDW, and from there go to Miami on business until Wednesday - then our minor league baseball season opens on Thursday, so life will be pretty busy!

Oh wow Sue! The murger mystery train ride sounds like a lot of fun! I have always wanted to do something like that! Be sure and let us know how it goes sounds like a great time!

Dito on the murder mystery train ride. That sounds great! What a fun idea for a party.

TraceyCooper- I'm with you on the weather and the diet motivation. Weather in northern Ohio is cold and rainy. Like you and Amanda, I'm trying to be motivated to move and watch what I eat. I have the best luck with the Atkins or South Beach diets. I don't feel hungry and when I stick to it for awhile and exercise, I do have more energy.

I started reading the book "Body for Life" and it is very motivating. I went to Target and bought free weights and some exercise tapes called "The Firm". They incorporate weights, step aerobics and floor work. I'll let you know if they work. I've done them about 10 times in the last two weeks.

Eeyoreandpooh, my mother in law is diabetic. Type 2, I think. She dosen't take shots but checks her sugar every day and watches her diet. This is her second cruise.

Have a great day everyone!!

:crazy2: Hi all, I,m nursing a little hangover DH & I went to see Robbie Williams last night - not the real one I,m afraid, a tribute band , they were really good it was great to let my hair down and
boogie, so thats my weekends exercise. I,m gonna try & do as dzneprincess and start to go for walks - if it ever stops raining!!
I,ll just keep dreaming about Castaway Cay and the adults only beach. Hope you,ve all had a great weekend

Tracey sounds like you had a blast! I am in a not so nice mood right now! I just spent all morning cloroxing some of the siding on the outside of my home,( it was really getting dirty) and got it nice and clean. I just stepped outside to admire my hard work, and I sat MUD splats ALL over the back of the house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My 2 oldest sons had themselves a mud slinging fight! GRRRRRRR I am very angry right now..vent vent vent...............Kids...........Is it cruise time yet????????????????????????
On the other hand I have been walking good. I walked 4 miles last night, I plan on going out this evening too. Especially to reduce som kid caused stress! LOL Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
