Well it's freeeezing here in Michigan today, but the sun is shining brightly::goodvibes . I think the kids finally have enough snow to sled. Not too much going on today, I need to get to the store. Tonight I have a parent meeting at the school.

Dawn-We will be in Florida on the 7-14. So I will just miss you. We are staying in Sarasota this time. I don't even know if we will try Disney. I know it will be packed that week.

Holly-I am glad you found this board. Everyone is chatty!!:chat: It is sometimes hard to keep up. It is a lot of fun.;) I find my self checking in and reading, but not always posting.

Kathy-Enjoy your visit with Catherine. I hope things continue to go well between her and your son:thumbsup2

Well I better go get some things done.

Lorna:banana:

   Good morning, Banana Heads

Well, Old Man Winter finally took aim at us, in the form of snow. We're only supposed to get 1-3", but it looks like we're way past that already today. It took me 1-3/4 hours to get to work this morning (a 25-mile drive!). But, this really is our first blast of winter, so we can't complain I guess. As long as someone clears the roads before I go home tonight!

WELCOME to all of our new people ... and a special WELCOME BACK to Jennifer and Bill#3 :rotfl: I'm starting to notice a trend of an awful lot of Michiganers coming on this trip ... and I see that the cruise will start only 1 week after the OSU/Michigan game! Hmmm ........ :scratchin

Anyhoo, yes, I will be working on the Cruisemate List sometime soon (Kathy loves giving me work because she assumes that I have nothing to do all day!) ... and yes, I still have the photos from our previous list so no need to send a new one Kathy.

Kathy, give me your phone number and I'll ask Peter about Catherine for you, k? :rotfl:

Better in Kalamazoo today COLD but, hey, the sun is shining and the sky is blue! :cool1:

Lorna, yes Disney will be busy during spring break but we been there so many times that we've learned our way around it. Have a good time in Sarasota. We have spent our share of time there also. My parents lived in Venice (my father still does). Are you staying on one of the Keys? One of the last times we were down there we ate dinner at all of the out-of-the-way places (like on the channels, etc) that was alot of fun and good!

Holly, we are just the opposite from each other. I grew up in Portland and therefore went to Lansing for everything. My first real job was at St. Lawrence Hospital. Moved to Plainwell, then Kalamazoo later.

If you guys will notice, I finally got a "little" research done on the Disney trips that my family have done. I know that there were more when my children were little but I'd have to do more digging for those!

I think that all of the original banana heads should use pictures from the 2006 cruise! So, I think you need new photos from all of us! I know of a GREAT picture of Kathy & Greg that was taken by your husband....;)

 We are sooooooooo excited about the upcoming cruise! We weren't even going to get off at Nassau on the other cruise. So, we couldn't justify spending so much money on the 4-Day(Christmas Cruise) when we could go on a 7-Day for about the same amount of money. Also, we are planning on staying at WDW a couple days longer before the cruise. It is a win-win situation for us. Yea!:cool1: Is DH (Bill) the third Bill on the cruise?:dance3: Good thing we call his jr Will or there would be four Bills. Is anyone else travelling with younger children? We will be cruising with Will (age 7 on the cruise), Emily (age 5 on the cruise) and Cole (age 2 on the cruise). Cole did great this past cruise and trip to FL from TX(we drove). I hope the terrible two's don't kick in for the trip:scared: Right now he is fascinated with phones and the tv remote control. I have tried to give him an old remote. Boy are little kids smart. He didn't fall for it and wanted the "real" remote.:happytv: Right now, Cole just took my mobile phone. I'd better go get it before he calls 911 (Will did that when he was younger and I hung up. About ten minutes later I had police banging on my door:rolleyes1). Have a great day y'all!::banana: -Jennifer:bride:

Hi Jennifer, we will be traveling with our two daughters. Elizabeth will have just turned 9 on this cruise and Emily will be 3 1/2.

Another Emily. . . Yea! :yay: Our Emily loves meeting new Emilys. Her middle name is Elizabeth. Great choice for names.:thumbsup2 Our children are VERY friendly. They had the best time in the Oceaneer's Club and Will was in the Lab half the time on our last cruise. They didn't want to leave the ship. That made it so much easier to re-book onboard. It was just as much a vacation for us from the kids as it was for the kids to have a vacation from us.:cool2:

 These next ten months are going to be a tease in anticipation for the cruise. I know y'all will make the time fly!

I was trying to be sneaky ...

Bob,
I was already living with the thought of Shell secretly posting that picture of us and sending it out with the cruise list:lmao:
At least if she does that we will look better in person when we meet the new people:rotfl2: who have never seen us.
At least I think we will, that is another years worth of grey hair showing up and possibly a few more wrinkles:rolleyes1

But that is ok, because I am keeping my camera with me all the time on this cruise, just so I can get even with Bill for taking that picture! ;) I know the opportunity will pop up to get a good picture of them too!!
I can be just as sneaky as Bill can!!!

Jennifer,
time will fly by when everyone posts often. Just having new posts to read each day really helps to pass the time. Even if we're not talking cruise talk sometimes.:scratchin

We did spend a weekend at Wilderness lodge about a year ago. it is beautiful there. It is great having a boat to zip over to MK instead of riding the bus. It is very quiet there and we like to hike the trail between there and the camp ground where you can go to the petting farm and see the stables where they keep all the horses that pull the wagons down main street.
I would recommend to to anyone.
If you go there, check out the stone wall behind the fireplace in the lobby. 3/4 of the way up, on the right side is a hidden Mickey which is hard to find, but easy once you know where to look.

My DD who is in Oregon just told me they have sleet, freezing rain and snow all predicted for today. Schools are cancelled in anticipation of the storm. So you guys with all your snow are not alone!! Even Oregon is getting hit.

Kathy

Kathy, Thank you for the info on the WL. We are scheduled to stay there before the cruise. From everything we've read, it sounds great. But, it is nice to have a real person that has been there giving it a thumbs up:thumbsup2

Hi Everybody! I'm HOME. (Yuck! It's cold and then there's work. foul word)

Imagine my shock on discovering the 2006 Wild Turkey's had fallen to page 4 and then been TERMINATED! Kathy, honey you SHOULD have prepared me! I'm having palpitations.

Had a lovely note from Celine this morning. They survived Christmas - went to her parents home. HIS parents pulled the 'jerk' routine again - what do they have to gain from being cruel to their son's widow and child???

Had an in-box full of recipes waiting for me! I'll get started on the cookbook as soon as I get the laundry done, photos uploaded to snapfish, etc. If you're sending recipes - you have til February 1st.

The three day cruise is certainly remarkably SHORT! On the other hand, there aren't as many activities to feel guilty about missing. Thursday, we had lunch in Parrot Cay, boat drill in Annimators, saw Hercules (I laughted myself silly) and late dinner in Parrot Cay. (I HATE LATE seating but at least managed to stay awake for the shows albeit falling asleep in my soup.)

We expected to be seated with other cast members (my friend is cm) but the first n ight there were two empty seats and the other two folks turned out to be missionaries in Swaziland! (The book I'd chosen for the journey was Dark Star Safari, about a journey the length of Africa, so it seemed like they were meant to be at our table.)

The seas were quite lively in the gulf stream again, so we retired shortly after.

Friday was Nassau day. Had breakfast in Tritons. My friend got off right after breakfast and headed to collect all the freebies from the shopping map. I slept around - deck 7 aft (too windy) - by the quiet pool - too windy and the new wooden chaise are very hard, even with padding - and finally in the rain forest. She came back around lunch, so we ate, and then got off to go to the straw market. That was pretty fun - they thought we were mother & Daughter. I laughed like heck when I heard my friend say "oh, she's a little deaf, she probably didn't hear you" as I steamed ahead through the crowd. After that, I played the ditzy old lady to the hilt, and emerged practically scott free except for an extraordinary purple velvet h at.

Festival hall (on the dock) had some cool shops and the beginnings of a Junkanoo museum, live music and a limbo guy that was really good.

Friday night, the show was the golden Mickeys, again really good, and everyone was at dinner, which ran even later than ever. Have I mentioned h ow I hate that 8:30 seating?

Kathy, the music seemed quite good on the Wonder. The family dance party was very full and very loud - they really need a better sound barrier between the promenade and the internet cafe. Especially since there are only lap tops to rent at the Cove Cafe instead of real computers like on the Magic.

Saturday was Castaway Cay. My friend was off early to snorkle, but I was dragging. Finally wandered off about 10, made it about to the Headsup bar where I did, indeed, acquire a Konk Kooler. Rather than a comfy hammock, though, I drank it sitting under an umbrella by Cooky's and then wandered back to the ship for a nap by the pool. Then I had a nap in the rainforest, and one of those heavenly showers.

The show was Disney Dreams, and dinner was even later than ever. My friend went to the farewell show and then 80s night, but I went to bed.

We did go to breakfast in Animators, in hopes of seeing our friends one last time (we did) and lingered then, there was no hurry.

When I got home yesterday, a package from the Magic had come - not "my" map, but rather a roll of two genuine navigational charts, marked up and signed by the captain. I'll still hope for the safe return of the other, but one of these will be framed, I'm sure of that.

Sleep sweetly!

Linda,'
I am happy you made it back ok. I watched your ship pull out on the web cam. If you make it back to WDW again, be sure and let me know and we will try to catch up with you again!!!
I havnt had a chance ot start any of the books yet, but I will. Just too many things going on and I have a head cold and so my head hurts and doesnt feel much like reading much right now.

Sorry about the shock!!! But everyone decided 3 threads to post on was confusing, so we let 06 die out and everyone has been chatting on the 08 even if they arnt going and of course people pop up here all the time too.

It is much easier this way.

Kathy

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody!

Kathy: I'll make sure I get our info to Shell soon.

I look forward to getting to know everybody, since I've heard great things about many of you. :thumbsup2

Denise

Holly,
Yes, there will be shirts again this time. Bill (cruise mutt) is in charge of them this time.

Linda,
yep the 08 thread is now our live gossip thread for all the banana heads, but most people tend to check both threads, so post either place and word will get around to everyone where it's at.

Denise,
I just checked and so far they havnt posted the new cruise dates, but it is suppose to be today. It didnt say what time they would be posted, so I will check back after 8 a.m. . Then on and off all day until it is finally posted.
We ALL want to know the 08 date for sure!!

Kathy

Hey gang ... wdwinfo.com says Western for 11/29/08. But I can't tell if that's "official" or not. Nothing on the DCL site yet.

Hopefully DCL will post soon!!

A person could get grey hair waiting for them!:goodvibes

We will just have to keep checking back all day until they officially post!
