10 months to go and 60 pounds to loose.Update 1/2/11 Page 38

I just wanted to say how great it is that you've lost sooo much weight in such a short period of time. Don't worry about the setbacks, you'll get back on track. I am like you, trying to loose weight for our trip in Sept. The last time we went in 2008, we spent a lot of time at the water parks. What a nightmare that was having to walk up an endless number of stairs knowing people were walking up behind me with a hideous view :scared1: I really love the water parks, but I'd like them better if I could be covered fully from the hips down. Anyway, we are going again for two weeks, and again a lot of waterpark visits are planned. I desperately want to loose 30 pounds by our leaving date Sept 8th. Today was the day I officially lost 10 pounds. Like you though, I get close to my goal and start loosing motivation. I am running out of time and have to get serious about the next 20. Your accomplishments prove to me it's possible :goodvibes I'll be following your updates to give me some extra motivation and pixie dust so I don't scare any little children walking up the stairs behind me at the water slides this year :lmao:

Thanks!! How has the walking been going?! That is great!! I think any exercise is great.

It's going pretty well. I'm sticking to the treadmill inside because of the heat, but I'm still walking! :thumbsup2

Hope you're having a fantastic time at the Cape!

Hey! I almost missed your update! It looks like you had a great weekend at the Cape. We got back from the cabin last night and are just lazing around today. I really slacked on everything at the cabin and only did Wk5d1 twice..I need to get back on the ball!

Your day 4 looks fun! I agree with you on the character interaction at TH. They dash from table to table. We also always seem to wait a loooong time beyond our ressie time to actually be seated. Do you find that, too? We had a good CS meal at Yak and Yeti in 2008. Honey Chicken, I think... ?? We have yet to make the Nemo show. I don't know why..I hear it is great!

Have a good week:)

We loved Teppan Edo! We did it for the first time in February and it was a hit with everyone. I think it will be a blast for your group.

I've never done the breakfast at Tusker House. I hope your character experience is better this time around.

In 2004 we had dinner at 'Ohana's and got to experience the fireworks. It was magical. We should have had the same experience in February, but. . . (you'll have to wait for that update).

Have a great 4th! You're plans look great!:thumbsup2

Oh that is all great to hear!!! I am getting really excited to try Teppan Edo!!

Happy 4th of July! Enjoy your trip to the Cape!

Don't worry about the weight so much! You are doing a great job getting your body healthier. The weight will come off eventually, I know it!!:cheer2:

Day 4 looks fun! We like Teppen Edo, we haven't eat there in quite a few years because we eat at Benihana a few times a year, but Emily loves watching the chef cook in front of us! I think it will be a great dinner for your family and the boys will love it! :goodvibes

You're rockin the C25K, keep up the great work!!:thumbsup2

Thank you my biggest fan!!! Happy 6 months to Eva by the way!! I cant believe when you started your pre trip report she wasnt even here yet and now she is 6 months! Did u find out about free dining for your trip?

Your post CRACKED me up!!! I just keep picturing myself climbing those stairs!:scared1: and scaing the kids behind me!:rotfl2: So you lost 10 pounds!!!! That is so great!! :thumbsup2 Why when we get so close do we loose the motivation!?? I ran yesterday 20 minutes on the treadmill and today I did pretty good. I think that I am back on track. I am heading to the Cape for our summer vacation the last week in July and I REALLY REALLY NEED to loose 6 pounds to have met that first BIG HUGE GOAL!!!! It would just be amazing. So come back often and keep reminding me please would ya!! :goodvibes

It's going pretty well. I'm sticking to the treadmill inside because of the heat, but I'm still walking! :thumbsup2

Hope you're having a fantastic time at the Cape!

It was awesome!! I put some pics on facebook and I am going to put some on here too! It sounds like you are doing GREAT!!!! I had to run on the treadmill yesterday because of the heat. I really think running outside it so much easier and nicer!!!

Hey! I almost missed your update! It looks like you had a great weekend at the Cape. We got back from the cabin last night and are just lazing around today. I really slacked on everything at the cabin and only did Wk5d1 twice..I need to get back on the ball!

Have a good week:)

Never been to Nemo!? It was SOOOOO good. You have to go next time. We had such a nice weekend! Where is the cabin? Is it on a lake?? It sounds like a place that maybe you want to just forget about running and being healthy and all that stuff and just relax!
Why is TH characters so rushed? YES we always have a 8 ADR and always have to wait forever to sit and have that pic taken and wait in that long line for that too!!!

Ok so we really need to figure out when we will both be in Disney!? Or maybe your hubby would like coming to the Cape or Boston for a family trip!!??? Then Wayne and I and the kids can have dinner and hang out with you all!!

So before I start let me just tell you that I just typed up a WHOLE MINI TRIP REPORT on our weekend on the Cape and Owen just came by and pushed some button on my laptop and POOF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALL GONE! :scared1:

So, here I go AGAIN in less detail lol ....

Saturday July 3rd - We headed down to the Cape and made it to our friends house in Falmouth in 2 hours! Not bad for the Holiday weekend!! We got our stuff unpacked and decided to take the kids for a bike ride along the Cape Cod Canal. It was really fun... we rented a bike with a tag along (like a tandem) for Myles and he LOVED it. We ended up riding 8 miles!!

IMG_5113.jpg

IMG_5109.jpg

So with all that healthy exercise what better thing to do than to go get some fried seafood for lunch! We found this little place near the bike path and the kids got fish and chips, I got a clam strip roll and Wayne ended up with a fried oyster sandwich- all were delish!

IMG_5124.jpg

After lunch I wanted Owen to sleep so we decided to take a ride to the house that we rented for a week this summer.... it is located in Dennisport and it took us about 30 minutes or so to get there. The house looked great!! The neighborhood was SO beautiful. It is on a private beach, which Myles thought was the coolest thing!!
IMG_5127.jpg

It was within walking distance of tons of cute little seafood shacks and ice cream stores! We are SOOOOO excited now for our vacation! After checking the house out, we headed back to our friends and grilled and made smore's! YUM!! We put the kids to bed with a movie - hey, we are on vacation! and we stayed up and played cards. Just like the college days! We stayed up too late and I drank too much beer! At least I was the president for most of the game!;)

Sunday- July 4th!
IMG_5131.jpg

We woke up and Kristen and I went and got breakfast and coffee! They have a great sun porch so we all ate out on the sun porch and then got ready for the beach! It was a BEAUTIFUL DAY! There was a parade that came by and the
boys loved it.... and they LOVED the beach. Myles wouldn't get out of the water
IMG_5147.jpg

and Owen wouldn't get out of the sand!
IMG_5150.jpg

Around noon we walked back to the house for lunch and then we put the little ones in for a nap. Wayne and I went outside with Myles and we played Bocce, and then I was getting tired so I sat in the sun while the boys played some football!

IMG_5156.jpg

One of the things I LOVE about the Cape are outdoor showers and this house had one!! There is nothing better than being all sandy from the beach and hopping in your warm outdoor shower! So we all took an outdoor shower and got ready for dinner and fireworks on the beach!

The beach that the fireworks was at was about a 15 minute drive from the house. We needed dinner and the British Beer Co. was right across from the beach... so what better place to eat at on the 4th of July!? :rotfl2: It ended up being great. We got seated right away and the food was yummy. After dinner we were walking back to the car to get our beach chairs and cooler and we overheard a cop say to someone that all coolers were being checked on the beach! :scared1: Well, we had a nice cooler all packed with ice cold beers waiting for us.... so I did what any normal Mom would do and I took one of the kids big beach pails, and I put some beers and ice in it, and off we went to the beach!! :rotfl:

IMG_5188.jpg

IMG_5177.jpg

IMG_5175.jpg

Myles let me do a little photo shoot while we waited for the fireworks!

IMG_5207.jpg

IMG_5200.jpg

IMG_5196.jpg

IMG_5192.jpg

The fireworks were SO GOOD! They were set to music... Coming to America, Born in the USA, a song from Pirates, Proud to be an American... and some more that I am forgetting. They were really cool. I got teary. I am not sure if it was good as Wishes... maybe it was!? Did I just say that!!?? :scared1: I take it back!! I love Wishes!! But these were really good!

IMG_5223.jpg

IMG_5218.jpg

When they were over we waited a LONG time in traffic and Owen was SO tired. He cried the whole ride home until I started singing. I sang, and sang and sang and finally as we were about to get on the street of the cottage he fell asleep. It was a rough night. He wanted to sleep with me in my twin bed! There was a little space between the wall and the bed and in the middle of night I heard him crying...... well you can guess where he was! The room was so dark and I was so scared because I couldnt find him! He had fallen and was stuck between the bed and the wall! He was fine and went right back to sleep but I was up all night worried he would fall again!

The next morning we woke up and went out to breakfast. It was cute, Myles had colored a picture and the waitress asked for it an hung it up on the wall! He felt so important!! After breakfast we decided to do one more thing before hitting the road. A trip to the Cape would not be complete without Mini Golf! So we went mini golfing and then hit the road! Oh I forgot to say that Wayne had downloaded this top 100 songs from this Disney Podcast and we listened to it on the whole trip and had to sit in the driveway when we finally made it home to hear the number one song! Can anyone guess!??

It was a great weekend and we are so excited to go back in a few weeks!!!
Thanks for reading along!!

I thought I'd add that thanks to you and your determination to stick with and improve your running, I've taken some extra baby steps and have been walking (pretty briskly) every morning for an hour since this weekend. I am thrilled to say an extra 3 1/2 pounds has come off. And as for loss of motivation.. I've been mulling that over on my long walks, and I've come up with this.

1. If the weight stops dropping each and every day, I start feeling like a cookie or two..or maybe seven :rolleyes1 wont make any difference. And then as soon as my body gets a taste for real sugar again...that's it...it bugs and bugs like my kids until it gets what it wants. So am considering banishing the scale for 2 or 3 weeks at a time. Then it'll seem like a much bigger weight jump each time I get on the scary little bugger :scared1:

2. When I have set a goal, I start to feel a little depressed as I come close to it because this accomplished new weight is actually a weight that at one time in my life would have been rediculously high. I then talk myself into a state of "don't think your thin, your still big compared to what you used to be" and then out come the 7 or 8 or possibly even 9 cookies again :guilty:

3. This I think is my biggest reason. I have this goal, and work sooo hard to accomplish it, and then when I get to it, all I have to look forward to is to do it all over again to the next goal. That get's irritating after a while. When I'm on the last 10 pounds it'll actually feel like an accomplishment because I'll know it's over.

I feel good about this time though. Only 6 1/2 pounds to the big 20 :cheer2: We can keep eachother motivated for these 6 pounds. Good luck

Sounds like you had a fantastic time at the Cape! Our family just loves the beach! Great family picture, too!

I agree with those two points!! I know when I eliminate ALL desserts eating healthy becomes so much easier.... but if I have dessert and then that sugar triggers stuff and I all of a sudden have NO WILLPOWER!!! How are you doing this week!!?

Sounds like you had a fantastic time at the Cape! Our family just loves the beach! Great family picture, too!

Thanks!! Yes it was great. Now we go back for our summer vacation next week. I am getting overwhelmed with all the packing I need to do.

Your boys are just adorable! :goodvibes

aww thanks Stephanie. They are great kids too. I am a lucky Mom!!:lovestruc

Hey hun - one more week and then we are on the Cape for a whole 8 (right?) days. Its gonna be monumental!

A whole week of beach, mini-golf, and shellfish of some sort or another. And no surveys...a whole week of no surveys. I can't wait!

Love you! xoxoxox

Hi DIS Friends!!!

I wanted to give a quick "Health Update" and then onto Trip news because there is some BIG news!

This week I have done better about making small changes and feeling good about them. I think feeling like I am in control of this thing helps because when I feel out of control I just eat and eat and eat and forget all about being healthy! I have 3 pounds to loose before our trip. That was the goal I had set back in April when I started this whole thing. I REALLY hope and am trying very hard this week to get there.

C25K - SIX WEEK BABY!!!! Wow! This thing is moving right along.... I am on week 6- but I have done day 1 twice and now today I will do day 2 again and then finish on Sunday with the BIG 25 minute run!! What do u think!?

Ok the other news that I wasnt quite sure I was going to write.... but this is a pre trip report and this will change the trip... in dramatic fashion!

a little background history... My brother in law has recently seperated from his wife. He was living with us since october and just moved in with his new girlfriend and her two boys (ages 10 and 17). When we first started planning this trip he asked if him and his two girls could come along with us. Well the girls have been SO excited about this special trip with their Dad.... BUT Yesterday I received a text message "would it be ok if I invited my girlfriend and her kids?" So my first thought was of course, your paying for it... and it is your trip. But then I got to thinking about my nieces.... they are going to be so upset. I wonder if the younger one will even want to go. So now as with ANY big family trip the DRAMA is coming in!!!!! I just hope it all works out. Who knows maybe this will bring them all closer - says the forever optimist that I am!!

Hey hun - one more week and then we are on the Cape for a whole 8 (right?) days. Its gonna be monumental!

A whole week of beach, mini-golf, and shellfish of some sort or another. And no surveys...a whole week of no surveys. I can't wait!

Love you! xoxoxox

Oh you came out of lurking!!!!!!!!!!!!! That means that the trip must be getting close!!:rotfl2:

I know- I am SOOOOOOOOOO excited for our vacation!!!! It is going to be so much fun :goodvibes

Love you too!!:lovestruc

Hey Nickie! You're doing awesome on the C25K plan!! I haven't been doing it because it has been so humid and hot, but I am having Mike bring our eliptical out of the basement this weekend so I can start on that and then run outside this fall. I'm so proud of you for working so hard towards your goal! I wish I had your motivation!!:cheer2:

Your new plans look great! It's crazy how often plans change when you plan so far in advance. I need to update my PTR with all of our changes still! I've been such a slacker!:rolleyes1

When can we make ADRs for the new restaurants? I keep checking the DIS and disneyworld.com, but nothing yet!!:headache:

What a tough situation with your BIL & his DD's. Not knowing the whole situation, I would say if the split is pretty recent, he should do this trip with just his DD's, but I assume if he is living with the new gf, the girls have met her. These situations are always tough. I hope your BIL discusses inviting the gf & her kiddos with his DD's. I guess that also depends on the ages of his DD's! My ramblings probably didn't make any sense, but I can understand your worries and the drama it might cause. You and Wayne just have to make sure that your family has a wonderful time despite what the others in the group are doing!:thumbsup2

Congrats on the weight loss and your running! You're doing great.

Your revised plans look great too. Way to think fast. Of course we all know how much we enjoy planning and replanning, it part of the fun and we love a challenge.

Wow what a change to your plans if you have more. I love bringing anyone to Disney but I see where you're coming from on the issue with your nieces. I just watched "Sistehoood of the Traveling Pants" last night so thought of poor Carmen and her issues with her Dad are fresh in my mind. But also it would be hard for him to leave the people he lives with. I think he should be asking his girls how they feel about adding the extra people.

Hi Nickie! I've been a major slacker. Congrats on week 6 of C25K and the weight loss. It is hard to stay motivated. I'm redoing week 5 this week since we went to Disney and I didn't run a single day. I did lose a pound while we were there so I definitely think that DxDP was the difference in May and out of the question on future trips. :lmao:

Good luck on that 25 minute run!!

I hope everything works out with your BIL. He really should talk with his girls and see what they think. :goodvibes

Have a great time on your summer vacation!! :woohoo:

Hi again.... great job on only having 3 pounds to go to your big landmark goal. :woohoo: By now you've probably got less to go because you wrote that a few days ago. The 3 1/2 I lost when I started walking has stayed off, but I guess it was a big all at once bonus because it has slowed down, but I'm still on track. I'm now at 15 1/2 pounds lost, and 4 1/2 to my big 20 pound goal. After that 10 more and I'll be happy... 15 more and they'll be peeling me off the ceiling  Good Luck, and keep up the great work!!!

Wow-you are rocking C25K, girl! You should be so proud.
So, when do you leave for the cape? It must be soon? Will you be making your ADR's when you are on vacation? I think you should join the club I am thinking of founding "Mom's Who Vacation For A Profession(MWVFAP)" What do you think??:lmao:

On to your ADR's.. Have you considered doing Rose and Crown for supper and watching Illuminations from their patio? I am thinking there was a reason you were doing Teppan Edo (sp?) for supper that night, though?

That is a tricky situation with your nieces. I hope that it all works out. Do you think your nieces will be upset if the others come along? That is a lot of big transitions in a short period of time.

Have a super fab vacation!!!!

Hey Nickie! Just wanted to stop by and say have a great week at the Cape!! :yay:

I'm officially joining Jill's MWVFAP group!:rotfl:

I have 3 pounds to loose before our trip. That was the goal I had set back in April when I started this whole thing.

That is so great!!! Way to go!!! :woohoo:

Well now I spent an entire day going over my spreadsheet moving things along and think I have come up with a NEW prefect plan!!:rotfl2:

I think your plans look really good! We did the Ohana breakfast on our last morning, and it was a fun way to end the trip. Our ressie was for something like 10:30, so you could still sleep in a little. :thumbsup2

Subscribing late in the game but better late than never. :goodvibes I am so trying to lose weight for our December trip. I know I can do it. I lost 50 lbs with WW before but have since gained it all back and then some. Would you mind sharing some of your meal plans with me? Also, this may sound silly but what is C25K?

Your trip sounds great!
