I still can't believe this whole debacle. Disney, the Kings of Organization and Planning, messed up major for this F&W festivity. Tisk, tisk.

i HATE the yankees with a burning passion.
We did too...

Our our womans twins?
Lovin the TR so far! But had to stop to comment on the Cards. I don't have a strong dislike for the cards (as a matter of fact, i'll leave out who my team is haha) But i HATE the yankees with a burning passion.
My team resides in the NL and i don't see how the Cards can be compared to the yanks at all. First off, the yankees are disgusting turds, who all use drugs and women. Second of all, the fans of the yankees that I know aren't the nicest group of people. (sorry to all yanks fans on here, btu the ones i know arent nice at all) and third of all: they are media giants, and the cards arent media giants at all.
Even in terms of actual playing, i can't see the comparison. If anything, the braves are the yankees of the NL. Pujols could definitely be compared to Jeter (except for the fact that Pujols has a heart, because of his autistic stepchild) But i wouldn't wish a yankees comparison on anyone lol But besides 2007, the cards havent won a World Series since, i cant remembr the exact year, was it 1988? or 84?
again, not messing with the cards, they're not my favorite team, but i hate the yankees with a burning passion.
OK, back to the TR! which i love btw! lol
SORRY!

Sunday, October 22nd - Behold the Heretofore Unsuspected Negative Vacation Powers of the Grimace!!!
I tried to explain that the F&W Festival was all about shared experiences - people ask questions: Hey, that looks great, what is it? Where'd you get it? How much did it cost? Can I have a bite / sip? Have you got any spare change? Do you come here often? Are you guys swingers???
Of course, the entire situation could have been avoided if they'd just had someone standing at the front part of the dining room inquiring about the size of each party and then seating them accordingly. I didn't pay $250 to attend an event so that we could all sit at different tables and wave at each other - I did that at my wedding reception and once was enough.
"Tonight I say we must move forward, not backward, upward, but forward, and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!"
For those of you willing to assume the molecular risk, join me now as we slip through a little known DIS-wormhole provisioned with nothing more than a bottle of Dasani, two hard boiled eggs (that's pronounced ehh-ggs, not aaaaeeeeeggggs) and some low-fat cottage cheese...
The other reason for our return to Saturday is that I neglected to tell you about Grimace's reaction to her initial F&W Festival introduction. Annoyed indifference is probably the best way to describe it.
There were also issues where people at some tables apparently didn't want to sit next to scary strangers and so left an open place between themselves and the unknown fearsome dessert lover to their left or right.

"Where's the real manager because we all want a refund."
******three minutes later******
"Would you like to have some coffee while we set up a table for you?"
This is a great TR! I started reading this one yesterday morning, you mentioned your Dining Review, read that and now I am all caught up on this one.![]()

(Where are AFEG's machine gun smilies when you need one)??
I love this TR! I wandered over here from your Dining TR. Your vacations sound like ours!! I am planning (I am the only one that is capable of said planning!) a family trip for next October/November. Oh boy! It is my family DM, DF, DB and DB girlfriend, my MIL and FIL. Counting us that makes 8. Just shoot me now! This is all DH idea.
We tried the whole family Vaca thing before in Vegas- Bad idea! By the end of the week no one was talking to each other and I ended up riding home with my folks and DH with his when we got back from the airport. We had only been married for 8 months at the time. Never, ever again was heard in the house of E for a long time....
Fastforward to now. 4 years later. DH after our 4th trip last year. "Ya know what would be fun? If we got everyone together for the F&W!"(insert me
) Do you remember Vegas? Like the whole remember the Alamo thing. We lost a lot of god men out there. But maybe.....
My family is great. We are thrill ride seekin', beer drinkin', fun lovin' kinda folks! My dad is the coolest minister I know! He is not so much the beer drinker as DB and I are. Mom's poison of choice is whatever is fruity and frozen. Brenda, she will love the GRND M slushies!
My DH parents are different. They have been to WDW once (1975). They would rather drive across country to see the worlds biggest ball of string than go to a theme park. They are still upset with us that we bought DVC instead of a timeshare in Myrtle Beach(as a side note DH is an only child) So they are less than excited about this trip. They will probably back out causing me to eat the point diff for a 2 bedroom and a Grand Villa but what the hey, It's only points!

I know, I know. I am just trying to share with Brenda that her TR is helping me in a cheap (read free) Therapy kinda way. Keep it comin' girl!

One of the best Treehouse of Horror episodes, ever. I still think you're funny.![]()
Of course I love this. You know why.And Id assume the molecular risk even without water and eggs.

Alright, I'm going to try this again...stupid network server...![]()
Are you a DS9 fan as well as Trek? Haven't been able to find anyone other than me or the DH who really watched it much. That's usually where my time travel ideas come from - I'm not smart enough to think of them on my own.
I cant imagine a more entertaining traveling companion. Youre a saint!
Oh, no...I am definitely no saint - just ask my mom!![]()
Or they might have been afraid of unknown fearsome dessert thieves!
Hmmmm...I never thought about that.
What an altogether horrible and annoying experience. Even if it had been free, which it decidedly was not at those inflated prices, this is inexcusable. I can hardly believe that believe Disney couldnt foresee the sort of problem you experienced. No seating arrangements? They could have set this up like Hoop-De-Doo-Revue since they knew months in advance how many people were coming and the party size for each group. Each family could have had assigned seating. Problem solved. Its a wonder there wasnt a duel to the death with the dinner knives, or someone didnt get stabbed in the heart with a dessert fork!
I said the same thing about assigned seating - it's not like it's some new party planning concept. And there couldn't have been more than about 80 people in the entire event, so assigned seats would have been easy.
Funny you mention that about the fork...Jay was actually keeping all the sharp utensils out of my reach until I'd sucked down a glass of Proseco. Then he decided it was safe to let me have some cutlery.![]()
This was a great episode, funny, well-written and entertaining. I am looking forward to seeing how this event unfolds.
As far as HP goes, I actually pre-order from Amazon and they Fed-ex to the house on Saturday. BUT...I also go up to Borders at Midnight (love their HP parties!) and pick up a copy there as well because I would go crazy sitting around my house waiting for the book to show up on Saturday.![]()
One year it showed up on my door-step by 10AM, but this last time the Fed-ex guy didn't show unitl 3PM. Heck, I was already finished with Half Blood Prince by then!
I wish you could travel inland 850 miles or so...you'd be totally welcome at our Potter Party!![]()
The point is that while I was waiting in the biggest line outside of the security checkpoint in DLR's Downtown Disney, people in line everywhere had lugged their copies of the Harry Potter book with them. I was actually in line for Disneyland and completely jealous of people who had their book already. How sick is that?
Sunday, October 22nd - Behold the Heretofore Unsuspected Negative Vacation Powers of the Grimace!!!
Alcoholic Tip of the Day: Never be afraid to try new things in weird and potentially revolting combination. For example, tonight I am indulging in a tuna fish sandwich and a pickle with a side of Irish Whisky. Sounds disgusting, doesn't it? That's what the cat said, although I think he was just angling for the sandwich.
But it's surprisingly tasty!
And for those of you not in the "know" the word whisky only contains the letter "e" when it has been distilled in Scotland. Every other country that produces whisky spells it the way I just did...apparently if you spell it wrong the FGMP (Fermented Grain Mash Police) will hunt you down with a single-minded, ruthless determination and pelt you with barley, rye, wheat, and corn while performing Riverdance in your front yard.
It's not pretty.
