10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Good morning, everyone!

Jacquelyn, mollygirl13, had a good question that we all need the answer to.

If you have more than one cabin, please let me know the total number of FE's you will have. Some of us have 2 or more cabins and we need to know if you have more then 1 FE so that we can insure that every FE gets a gift.

From now until cruisetime (man, that sounds great!) please put important announcements in red as this will be easier to notice. However Lois, keep your colorful countdowns coming!;)

I have never done the Captain Marvin's but have heard nothing but good things about it here on the boards.

And since we booked on points, we'll definitely have insurance. Also Steve's mom is 89 and, as many of you know, my step-mother has cancer.

Good point on the red - I will try to keep that in mind. I will also go back to the activities post and put that all in red.

Insurance - we have never purchased it. Guess I like taking chances - or playing with fire anyway.

Thanks, Gail.

Also, please post whether you are main or late dining and PM this info to Jan of JanDave as well. Thanks.

Steve and I are late (8 pm) dining.

Dining: We are main.

Insurance: We purchased it. My sister has Stage 4 liver cancer, and we didn't need any added stress!

GC Excursions: I am debating between the semi-sub and the pirate encounter. I would love to do the pirates, but 1) have read it is too short, and 2) don't know if my kids would "walk the plank."

Steve and I just went from main (early) dining to late so if you wanted main but had to take late, now's the time to call!

We are late dining. This trip can not come soon enough - other than I need each and every paycheck before it arrives to be on top of it all so I guess I have to wait. Those of us just on this cruise have 108 days so you other lucky folks must be at 101 days. Actually - we must be at 101 for the WDW portion of the trip. Double digits - I can almost smell them :rotfl:

Chris and I are at late dinner seating.
We talk about the cruise now every single day!!! We just cannot wait for this to arrive. I am excited just to see the Magic in the Port!!

We have late seating. We did nativeway 4 years ago, they were great, my SIL doesn't swim so they brought a stingray to her so she could touch it.

I always get insurance. I get it from www.insuremytrip.com We had to use it one year. Had a car wreck 1 month before a disney cruise we had booked. I had to have surgery on my knee, the doctor said there was no way I would be able to go. So I was very glad we had the insurance.

I want to make reservations for brunch at Palo's on my SIL birthday, my DH, DS, and I have cruised with disney before , but my SIL and DN have not, will I be able to book it for all of us on the 90 day out date?

We will have 2 FE. 1 for each cabin. Pam

Pam - I would think you should be able to do that without any problems - or for 4 people anyway.

Amen to that! I have just a little left to pay for the trip, then get to saving "fun money!" My goal is to have enough cash to not use the credit cards any.

I have not paid the trip off yet but the funds are sitting in the savings account ready to go - end of next week I will go ahead and pay it off. I have also saved enough for what I have budgeted for WDW so the rest of the time I can work on DCL expenses.

Anyone thought about rebooking onboard???

Janet,
Chris and I are looking to do a Stingray Excursion in GC. Our last one was canceled due to bad weather and we were SO disappointed! Can you tell me a bit more about Capt. Marvin's? I looked at the DCL ones (not Castaway Cay Stingray) and I wasn't sure which to do. Have you done Capt. Marvin's before? Thanks! :)

JW
We did capt'n Marvins the last cruise and it was wonderful. The employees were patient with those leary of getting in the water andseemed very knowledgeable. We would definately do it again!

We have done the semi sub before and it was fun. Especially fun for the younger kids. They get to see lots of fish and the one we went on (I think it was Atlantis) feed the fish to get them closer to the windows.

I just received word that we are now main dining! Yipee!!!!!!!!!!!

Great! I wonder if that's the main dining Steve and I changed from yesterday? That would be too funny if it is!

There's nothing like putting items in your disney.com shopping cart to make the cruise seem closer! :rotfl2: Of course, if I could stop spending money on that site, perhaps I could pay off the cruise! :scared1:

I am home with my DD who has acute strep. I just found out my DS was diagnosed at Centri-Kid camp four hours away. Did I mention my husband is in Houston for the week?

Off to dream of tropical shores again!! :hippie:

Okay, now that I'm home and Nate, my DGS, isn't demanding attention, which I love giving to him, I have to tell you what I saw today. He's 1....He's needy!;)

Nate, Steve, and I were going into Wal-Mart as a woman pushing a buggy was coming out with a 2 yo girl (guessing age) with a 4-5 yo boy (Again, guessing) walking beside her. She was screaming at this poor little boy. @#$%! Just as we get side by side, she grabs this child and shoves him onto his bottom onto the concert against one of the big round posts they have that keeps cars from driving into the store.

I go, "Hey, that's not necessary!" at which point she scowls, grabs him up and continues on her way. I had a feeling that is wasn't over and decided to turn and make sure she'd calmed down.

About 30 steps away, she grabs this child by the right arm, lifts him off the ground and bodyslams him onto the asphault parking lot!

I go, "Oh no you didn't!" and head out to her, she'd arrived at her vehicle by this time.
Long story short, she's probably in jail tonight!

So, said all of this to ask for prayers for the mother and the children, especially the little boy.

I will not only pray for the woman and that child but thank God for people like you who are willing to step up and put yourself at risk to protect others. I only wish more would take that risk. You are a hero and most likely have made a difference in that childs life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It helps me to keep the faith. Lois

How sweet of you to say, Lois. Thank you! There was about 8 of us that confronted this woman. I just couldn't do nothing. Steve called and reported her to 911 and they told him that they were getting multiple calls about the incident.

I truly hope that she gets the help she needs. Otherwise, she doesn't deserve those children. It was bad.
