10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

WHEW!! Go away for a few days. and I had 4 pages to catch up on! Chatty, aren't we?

Welcome to the new cruisers! It is going to be so nice to finally get to meet everyone. We are also on deck 6, in 6042.

FE UPDATES: Anyone new since we discussed allergies... make sure Denise has your allergies on the FE list!

We had a wonderful time at the beach. The kids went with their cousins to the beach, the sound, and swam in the hot tub all day Sat. On Sun, we went to Wright Brother's Memorial and Jockey's Ridge before coming home. Wright Brother's Memorial sits atop a 90-foot hill that we climbed. Jockey's Ridge is a series of sand dunes that are 100+ feet high, and we climbed several of those. My legs and feet were THROBBING driving home last night! Luckily I am not sore today.

I did get a speeding ticket coming home. :headache: 60 in a 35... they had a speed trap set up right were the road went from 55 to 35. So now I get to deal with that... but luckily not until Nov.

That stinks! I suggest going to court and pleading temporary insanity.:rolleyes1 Tell the judge you were distracted with all of the planning going on in your head for your Disney Cruise. We can all write letters!!!:rotfl:

Good news about my package mistake. I called the package place I mailed from, It was still in the store UPS not to pick up till this afternoon. They changed the cabin number on it for me!!!!

Off to violin practice and pick another from football.

I also have extra FE gifts, so you should have plenty of surprises :)

I was talking to someone today and I made the comment that I leave next Friday night and it hit me! OMGosh, I'm really leaving NEXT Friday night!!! YAY!!!!

I finally finished registering eveyone online, but I'm going to have to request that two of my sons be changed to different clubs. My oldest turns 13 on the cruise so he'll want to be in the teen club and my youngest will be 8 in Feb, but seeing as how he is the youngest of 4, he's used to being around older kids and will definitely want to be with his older brother.

Good Evening!

We just finished the last of our laundry and have repacked everything in the suitcases. So, we are almost done. Can't wait to get on the plane on 10/3.

Let's do a Mickey dance so that Ginger gets out of jury duty. Tell the judge she'll bring him a souvenir!

Thinking about those of us who get a little queasy with rollercoasters (and I used to be a rollercoaster fanatic). We noticed on this past cruise that it was the smoothest sailing away from Florida on night one that we've ever had - or we're just getting used to it.

Ok, back to getting ready for work.

I am a little behind in reading all the posts but what is everyone's plans for Cozumel? Is anyone else going to Paradise Beach?

We are going to Paradise Beach!! It's one of our favorite places to visit. We should share a cab or van should you decide to go!

deego - my suggestion for seasickness is Bonine. My DH is horrible when he isn't driving and takes them each day and unless there hurricanes chasing us, he is fine. The problem with seasickness is you can't wait until you don't feel well - by then it is too late. The do suggest green apples too and ginger but I have not had any experience with that. I even take one the day we sail so I don't have any problems but usually after that all is well. It doesn't make you drowsy so that is a very good thing.

Off to work on my laundry (do I ever tell you I am doing anything else?). Packing begins in earnest (stacking already begun) Wednesday.

We are booked on the oct 4th cruise a last minute reservation. It is myself and 2 friends. We are doing a girls only cruise no husband or children. Is it too late to get in the festivities. cindy

We're going to Paradise Beach, too! DD (Avery) is 5, and DS (Tucker) is 10. We are planning to go see the San Gervasio ruins in the AM, then head over to PB around lunchtime.

Welcome Disneynut64 and friends!

It's never too late!!! Our DIS meet is on Saturday at 3pm at the drink station on deck 9 forward.

I'm doing a girls' cruise only on 1/10/09 with my DD's m-i-l. We booked last week when we were aboard the Wonder.

Welcome! It's never too late to be a BUCCANEER!!!

Check post #1 on the first page of this thread for info.

Sadly, it is too late for the FE as the cutoff was several weeks ago due to the fact that some of our fellow Dissers left early to start their vacations.

However, jump in and hang on!!

Cozumel? Not sure if it's the best choice because we've never been before, but we decided to go on the DCL excursion to Chakanaab Park and play with the dolphins. On the way back to the ship, if there's time, we're considering playing a round of mini-golf at Cozumel Mini Golf. It's 3 blocks from the Playa Del Carmen pier. Not sure if we will be brave enough to venture out on our own to the mini-golf...guess we'll see how we feel when we get there. Would love to hear if anyone has any info on these ideas.

I got upgraded!!!!!!
Got a call today from Disney and they have us moved from Deck 6 (6558) to Deck 8 (8068) - Deluxe Stateroom to Deluxe family stateroom!
WOOHOO
Thanks Disney!

More room for the 4 of us.....

:cool1:

I can't wait, we fly out in 10 days, only 6 more BORING days of work left (SOMEONE has to pay this off!).

See you all on the 4th - Deck 9 drink station....
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Our (my son and I) excursions pretty much only have to do with snorkelling. My parents aren't fond of water so they will be doing a tour of some kind, not the Paradise Beach one tho, they aren't beach lovers either (why oh why am I taking them on a Cruise then? :rolleyes1 )

I heard Paradise Beach is nice tho. Have fun!

Hey Lori, your son can "hang" with my son, my son will be 8 ON the cruise but they can still hang together!
He would love to make a new friend!!!
