10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

She was in dry dock getting painted and polished. They added a splash zone, flat screen TVs in the stateroom... I can't remember what else. She should be nice and shiny when we get to her!

On deck 5 (maybe other decks, too) there are some staterooms turned sideways near the front of the ship. The door is in the middle, with the bed to one side and the bathroom to the other. Many have reported that the room feels bigger because of the layout.

My boys will want to jump in with the rest of them.

Hope everyone had a great Monday.

DS13 and I went to the mall tonight in search of dress shoes for the cruise. He is at the size where he is almost too big for children's yet not big enough for a man's size. It is hard to find sizes 6 1/2 and 7's. Thankfully, we found a pair and they were on sale also!!! Now, I just need to start getting their stuff together. I packed most of my things yesterday.

CanadianCruiser67, congrats on the upgrade!!! I keep checking our reservation in hopes that we will be lucky, but haven't seen any changes yet.

Quick question, non-cruise related. Is anyone having trouble finding gas? The local Conoco near our house is completely out of all types of gasoline. Just wondering if we will have a problem finding gas as we travel next week. We will be going down I-75 through Georgia and Florida.

Only 7 school days left. :teacher: If I could only get my kids to get their work turned in on time, my life would be so much easier.

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Gena

Heck we should all just meet at the pool, going to be a busy place that drink station!!!!
LOL
(think of this, at least 50 of us are posting that are "on" the list on page 1 and there are more that have not been added!)

Just show me the bar.... I will be fine......

:disrocks: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :simba: :ccat: :stitch: :mickeyjum :dogdance: :fish:

So more like a house then really. Sounds great, have to come on over and spy to see for myself.
We were close to the back of the ship last time and my only complaint was that my son had to stand on the table cause there were no openings in the balcony, it was solid wall.
Worried he might fall off the side!
:scared1:

So all the staterooms now have FLAT screen TV's? On my. And I wonder what a splash zone is... will find out when I get wet!
LOL

So we get her "new" then? First cruise is us after this has been done?
Wow, who knew when I booked on the 22nd of August, 2007 that she would be lookin' pretty for me....

:mickeyjum

Okay, so this is my son's and my second cruise. We are members of the Castaway Club.
So my questions on this club thing are:

- When is the "party" for the members take place? Do we get notified?
- It says on the website that we get to tour the Bridge, is this planned beforehand?
- what are the "gifts" that they are talking about on the cruise?
- Are my parents going to be invited to or is this exclusive?
- what other "perks" are to being a member of this club that I can look for and see on the Cruise?
- Can I make my own FE? Im kinda crafty that way (since I didn't get in on the original??)

Is there anything else I should know about BEFORE sailing that I haven't thought of???

Oh my Im getting nervous. I just want this holiday to go so well, my parents will want to Cruise again! (maybe not with my son and I, but they need to have a good time, it's been like forever since they actually relaxed!)

:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :faint:

Welcome Disneynut64!!

You will find us to be a great group.
2 of our members & their families, Lois and Tania, were the first Buccaneers to leave us. Lois is in WDW right now and Tania may sill be traveling, I'm not too sure. She is from New Zealand. (Does anyone know where Tania and her family are going 1st?? Is is WDW or DCL.)

Anyway, welcome and we look forward to meeting you!

To all who are participating in the FE gift exchange:

I just was at the store and picked up ZIP TIES for my FE. They came in a pack of 100 so if anyone needs ZIP TIES to secure their FE, let me know. I will never use 100 of them so feel free to ask!

Also, feel free to stop by our stateroom (#8530) if anyone needs them.

We do not want any of our FE's "swimming" away!

You will get an invite (sent to your stateroom) regardng the CC reception. I have brought our guests, who were not repeaters, and it was not a problem.

Not sure if bridge tours are still going on. Sign up at guest services for the galley tour. It will not be mentioned in the Navigators.

CC gifts we received on the Wonder last week were 2 water bottles, a nice DCL tote bag and another bag, mesh in red or blue with holes in it. Also, a couple of lanyards.

At the CC reception, gifts are given out by picking out a repeater's name. I won a clock last year.

Also, beverages/food choices have changed at the CC reception -- no more liquor. Cookies and non-alcoholic beverages.

Hope this info helps.

Wow thanks Jan, will look for that galley tour, Im sure ds would love that. So the gifts are just sitting in the stateroom then waiting for us?

Do I need to bring our CC cards with us on the Cruise?
:yay:

Just got in Chris' Pirate Night costume! It came with all of the Pirate Accessories!

I am SO happy with it. It fits him perfectly and I got it from ebay for REALLY cheap!! :cool1: Now I'm just waiting for mine to come in-should arrive in a few days.

And I wonder what a splash zone is... will find out when I get wet!

The splash zone on the Wonder is for children who are still in diapers. It has a few sprays and a Mickey Fantasia hat that the kids can try to climb. Water comes out of the top of the hat. It is next to the Mickey slide.

Last week, there were some older kids in the splash area and the CMs were making them get out of the splash zone as it is dedicated to the little ones.

Well I didn't see this coming, but I am having surgery tomorrow! While I really didn't want to have to do this so soon, so close to the cruise my hand has been forced. SO, my gallbladder is coming out and I would appreciate all pixie dust and prayers you can throw at me. :worship:

And don't be surprised if I am moving a little slow when we get on the boat! :boat:

Thanks Buccs!
