10/26/2013 - A Western Fantasy Halloween Cruise

That sorta heat is a killier. When we ran the 2012 Green Bay Marathon we actually had to take off any music to hear the ambulance coming up behind us in the race to pick up people. There were so many people down they used every available ambulace and called for backup. People had IV's put in and paramedics hung the IV from a tree and moved on to the next person.

They eventually called the race, my husband was picked up at mile marker 18. I finished the half to only find out my time would not count due to the closure of the race. Pretty disappointing but understanding.

My DH will be running the 5K, I will be with the kids.

Hopefully there will be good weather.

:scared1: yikes. Heat is not prejudice! Hopefully my weeks worth of over food indulgence won't make me totally worthless on the run!:)

Thank you, I felt so out place. A guy had swimming shorts with a Hawaiian shirt in a dining room on a "formal" night. :confused3

I read that rules have changed about the dress code and shorts are allowed in the MDRs but my family and I are still dressing up formal and it sounds like everyone on the fb page is too

We still plan on dressing up for dinner...to us that makes the dinner more special...adds to the atmosphere!

Well, I was able to check a few things off my pre-crusie list yesterday :thumbsup2.

:stitch:Called and ordered water for the cabin.
:stitch:emailed my brother the cake order form which he faxed to shoreside DCL
:stitch:Got all of the pieces of my mom's and dad's pirate costumes into one bag (and yes, I am a party pooper - I will not be dressing up for pirate night).
:stitch:Activated my emergency credit card (I usually only keep 1 credit card active for everyday use but when I travel I like to have a back up card that's completely empty in case of emergency so I know that I can pay to get us home no matter where we are)
:stitch:Put together my FE map for groups 1, 2, and 3 (just waiting on the final 2 cabin numbers before printing)
:stitch:Map quested the trip down and the trip home to include our hotel stops and created 1 document which includes our hotel reservations

Feeling better and better about being prepared.

Oh and I came up with my next PTR topic - "Yes, we do NEED a cake"

you have a brother? why doesn't he ever cruise with you guys?

you have a brother? why doesn't he ever cruise with you guys?

Because his wife is afraid of cruise ships. :scared:

He had talked about just him and the 3 kids (my niece and 2 nephews) taking a cruise with us but it never came to be. I don't think he's too keen on leaving the wife behind (even for a week). They usually spend Christmas in the Barbados and do a big trip of their own every other year so there's not a lot of time or money for them to do a Disney cruise with us. He has his own company so he also has to be careful about the time he takes off because he's responsible for ensuring a bunch of people remain employed.

Just read on cruise critic that as of Oct 5th on the fantasy, the cost for Palo is going up to $25 per person plus tip. The person received a notice from their TA.

The price raise only affects those who hadn't already reserved their spot.

I wonder if it will affect you if you try to switch around your Palo reservations on the ship - I was thinking of trying to move my brunch to the 27th and my dinner to the 31st?

What will you be doing right now 3 weeks from now???

Not working (not that I'm working too hard right now :rotfl2:).

3 weeks from right now, I'll probably be enjoying a coffee in my cabin (maybe on the balcony), looking at the big pile of FE gifts to deliver and thinking about going back to bed. :coffee:

Since we had to turn our clocks back an hour before we went to bed last night, and I am an early riser, I will probably be by Satellite Falls trying to decide if I should go get a second breakfast, wait until Lunch, or order another drink . . .

:thumbsup2

yea - I'm thirsty already!! :woohoo:

Last year we cruised b2b on the Fantasy and it wasn't until we were well into the second half when I figured out there was a bar in Cabanas open for breakfast!! And I love a good Bloody Mary (especially when I remember to ask for a floater!!!)
