Awww Sistah, you gave up a FO to make birthday wishes? Way to show a couple of brotha's a little love.

The DIS is making me a little crazy tonight with it's sporadic performance. Talk to you all tomorrow.

Welcome, Sheri! I'm Paige and my DH Rob and I will be sailing without the kids this go around. We live in Virginia, about 30 minutes south of DC. We're orginally from Louisiana; Rob's in the Marine Corps and I'm my kids' taxi driver....

Hi Paige! How lucky for you going without your kiddos! We're at the point now that we know our boys are going to be gone in a few years so we don't like taking big trips without them! Man, how times change!:lovestruc

Hi Sheri, if you have the first post on a new page, in order to claim an FO, you need to quickly make another post and it has to be the second post on that page and claim it as an FO. If someone gets the second post on the new page, your FO is then blocked, or BOB'ed as it is now being called.

Thanks for letting me know! What's the penalty for being BOBbed?

We've got a delayed start for schools tomorrow due to all the snow! :woohoo: Two extra hours of sleep! Have a good start of the week everyone!:grouphug:

....maybe Jeff could add a link to these on the first page so that everyone could find them easily??? :rolleyes1

Done. I linked to your two posts here.

I did email DU and I am waiting back to hear from them. I got one of the "We are really busy right now bear with us" emails. Hopefully maybe tomorrow I will hear something back.

Becky, when/if you hear from them, can you find out what happens with our 10% from DCL for rebooking onboard? Thanks.

So I have a question...

Does everyone in your party get a Castaway Club ID number??? I already have mine from 2 cruises ago but in the mail Friday was the DCL packet addressed to KIRA and had a CC card in her name with a different CC number than mine :confused3

So they sent the Survival Kit to a one-year old and not to the two adults :lmao:

Cass, I'm sure that her number is completely different from yours because she got it so long after you got yours. As for Rob not having one, I'd call DCL to see what his is.

Our schools don't do that type of teacher week. For us, our time off during the year are scattered so we just take the kids out of school when we want to go on vacation and have them do the work they miss. Life is too short and my boys have grown up too quickly to worry about what the District tells me is okay! Plus, I'm a mean mom! I actually want the work done before we leave so I make them do it before we go! Who wants to tote text books in luggage and take away space for my CC souveniers! :teacher:

We get DS's homework also before we go and have him complete it ahead of time. Less hassle when we get back. The teacher this year said not to take it with us, it is our vacation and he should enjoy that. Just hope the next few teachers feel the same way. He will miss about 5 days a year between now and the end of 8th grade going on vacation with us.

As far as the excursions on the Eastern cruise, we did do them in every port. In St. Maarten we did the dolphin excursion. It was just okay. My first time through college I studied marine biology and I really wanted a lovely dolphin experience. This wasn't it. It was okay, but not what I expected for the hefty price tag.

The excursion we loved was at St. Thomas-pirate: The Doubloon Snorkel tour! From the moment the cruise operators picked us up, until waaaayy after they dropped us off, it was nothing but fun, laughter, great snorkeling, and painkillers (a fruity adult beverage they give you after you snorkel and refill, refill, refill)! DH, Pat, enjoyed the painkillers so much on the Doubloon that he made us go back to their portside shop and get a few more, then he went back later on his own, "to buy t-shirts for other friends we'd forgot!" He came back to our room and said he thought he needed a nap-Duh! He ended up waking up about 10pm! The excursion ended at noon!

We got to snorkel at a sanctuary with a lot of wildlife. Many sea turtles that were very friendly, wild stingray, a coral reef with many examples, and some conch. But the staff of the Doubloon was just fabulous! They learned all our names, tattooed all of us (temporary-but it allows you more painkillers free in the shop!), and they played with the kids and let them stear the ship. It was so much fun that when we planned another cruise my family wanted to do the Eastern again.

That tour sounds like fun. I don't think DS would do well on it. If he can't stand on the ocean floor, he won't go in the water.

Sounds like Pat had a really good time though. :thumbsup2

:flower3: You are such a warm and friendly bunch! Thanks for your kindness!:grouphug:

Your welcome. We want to make everyone feel like they are one of the family. Our fear is that people will think with the size of this thread (which will be huge - our last one went over 40k posts, mostly in the last 6 months prior to the cruise), they will be turned away. Please don't feel like you've missed anything or are not part of the conversation. Just jump in whenever you like.

party: :bday: :cake: And a Happy 40th Birthday to Jeff!!:cake: :bday: party:

Happy 40th Jeff!

Thanks Nancy and Paige (or is it Goose and Sistah?).

Yeah, what happened to the new servers? I don't see any real difference on here. In fact, it seems slower at times.

Hello all!

I just switched our reservation to your cruise date! It will be our 3rd DCL vacation (we disembarked from the Magic one year ago today :sad2: ) and although it will be a longer wait, we are all excited to be joining in your fun! ;)

I'm Sheri-Kindergarten teacher, mom to sons Dakota and Austin (17 and 15 at the time we sail), and wife to Pat, a sergeant with our local Sheriff's office.

We live in Northern Nevada and are in the midst of a great snow storm!

I recognize some of your Dis-names and am looking forward to getting to know you! On our last Eastern it was really fun to recognize people from the Disboards that I'd been chatting with for months!

DH here, Welcome to the thread of wacky and wonderful people. You will have a great time on here, but even a greater time on the cruise. Nothing can describe how wonderful this group makes everything.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

I hope Mike is doing better today.

Welcome! Since we're outnumbered by the Wisconsonites, it's always nice to have another west coaster!

Good Sunday Morning Crew.........

mickeyPancake.jpg

Nice, very Nice... You've made me hungry for pancakes!

Is the trunk bay a disney excursion? How far is it from the ship - ie timewise?

Is that the georgous beach Jeff posted photos of? If so we'll be going there too!

Yes, that would be the one. From the Cruise Ship dock it will be about 45 minutes by boat.

Here is the picture you're thinking of:

100_0809.jpg

I'm so there! Trunk will be definately on my list!

So it is raining here, just a fine mist at the moment but the people next doors have someone doing their yard with an eletric trimmer, and there is someone a few doors down on his roof taking down x-mas lights. :confused3

Oh I still have to do that! My last day-off had horrendous winds that would have blown me right off the roof. I'm hoping to be done tommorrow.

I didn't have everyones addresses, so just so that you don't feel that you've missed out:

We got ours. I need to remember to put it away with our cruise stuff.

Happy 40th Jeff!

Happy 29th Chuck!

Happy B-day FO!

Happy Birthday, Guys!

DH here, back from the dead.

Happy Belated Birthday Jeff and Chuck.

Scott (1)

Hey Scott! Nice to hear from you again!

Mornin' sunshine! No, Kristin and Jesse did not get engaged, although Jeff was willing to give Jesse a little kick in the right direction while we were cruising. Tony and Stacy are getting married April 19th this year and they are involving me and Stacy's mom quite a bit now. Today it's veil, tiarra, shoe shopping. In a couple of weeks it's another wedding show.

We started planning Stacy's shower yesterday too. Anyone have any great ideas for games? (I, myself, hate playing shower games  ).

Oh, got it now! April 19th will come round really quickly - have you got your outfit yet or are you going to bobaloser for a while and get a size 0:goodvibes

No idea on shower games - we dont do that in England - we call it a hen night and go get drunk somewhere - (suprise suprise!)

Lori, do you do the excursion through DCL or on your own. I'd rather do it on my own, but with having to travel by boat to get there, I'm concerned about getting back in time. We may opt to go with DCL, pay a little more and stay a little less just for the piece of mind.

Yes, that would be the one. From the Cruise Ship dock it will be about 45 minutes by boat.

Silly me looked at their site on Friday and was looking at the 2008 OBC's thinking they dropped it. Now that I look again, 2009 is still $100 for a SPH. I will probably switch it in the next couple of weeks. How many does that bring us up to now with Dreams?

Oh yeah! - I'll be sitting on that beach:cool1: - I think I'd rather go with Disney - at least the ship would wait if we were late.

You should switch - that $!00 will buy me and Suz a couple bottles of wine at Palo:rotfl2:

ok jeff here it is with the ship showing up for another 80th of a second if you want another 80th just let me know

Short break news:

We're booked to sail on the inaugural cruise for The Indepence of the Seas on May 2nd with The Fat Man (Dave) and Bev, Nicola and James. It's only a 4 day cruise sailing to Cork, Ireland, but we're looking forward to it.

Need to shift those lbs that I've gained over Xmas.

No way,i almost booked this cruise (out of one of the papers)for me and her who must be obeyed but Jess couldn't keep the twins imprisoned, sorry i mean entertained on them dates...:sad2:

Hmm, well that makes sense! But Kira has a completely different number than mine and Rob doesn't even have one :confused3 Weirdsville.

Cass love your worrying about nothing,Kira has the same CC number as us except for the last digit....:rolleyes1

Welcome to the newbies,:sad2: to the sick ones and Mr Tuna you don't look a day over 35....Jeff did you have a VERY large paper round as a child?....:rolleyes1

Happy Birthday gents...:)

ps...Did i miss anything cos i lost my page as to where i was?....Yes am thick, tell me something i didn't know....:)

]
I just saw this on the Discovery Health channel. Dr. Oz says the average person only puts on 1 lb. over the holidays. hmmmm.

I guess I'm ok... i didn't gain anything. whew!

But that seems like an awful low average...

1LB:scared1: - I must be 6 people then:rolleyes1

Hi Karen and Chris! Come talk to me

Sorry I missed ya!

Size 0? :lmao: Me? :lmao: :lmao: Not in this lifetime!!:sad2:

No idea on shower games - we dont do that in England - we call it a hen night and go get drunk somewhere - (suprise suprise!)

I was just informed last night that neither I nor Stacy's mom will be invited to the Bachelorette party. :confused3 That's it! I'm puttin' a posse together and crashing it. :rolleyes1

Actually, I didn't invite my mom to my party either because, first, we went to a male strip club in Illinois and secondly, she's really no fun. (She's really Grimace's sister). :goodvibes

Does it count if I went back and edited to claim it?:lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Here's a funny little story about my Bachelorette Party 28 years ago. We (my bridal party) went to a Male Strip Show in Illinois. After 2 men did their performances, the third one started. I'm looking and looking at this guy and I'm thinking, "Hey, I know this guy". "Where the heck do I know him from?"
All of a sudden it hits me...it was my cousin!!! :scared1:

I ran right to the ladies room where I stayed until he was done. I went up to him after the show and he was mortified to see me there. I assured him that I made a quick exit and didn't see a thing but one of my bridesmaids wants to date him. :lmao:

It was the best kept secret between me and him and our parents. I still think none of them know anything about it.:thumbsup2

Did I just see the birthday boy multi-quote? :woohoo:
