Anyone else around this morning?

Good morning everyone...Just a quick drive by post as I have to head out the door for our Sunday Services. Today is also the day that we serve the Community Meal, so it is a long day. I really want to go to the beach and get some sun, but there is just too much to do and too little time. Plus my parents are coming in around supper time, so I have to finish getting the house ready. I just have some small things to do, mop the kitchen floor etc. In summer that is hard to keep clean as the kids are out all day and don't wipe their feet. Plus, while we were gone, the neighbor mowed my grass, but didn't clean the clippings, so the first day we were back we all tracked in grass on our feet. First thing Friday, I started up the blower and got rid of as much as I could!

Oh well, that was longer than I expected. I may check in from my office. :wave2:

Hey! - dont even mention cancelling Mama Goose!

I wish I didn't have to Karen. :sad2:

Wow! - Nancy - you bought my tag gift today then?

:rotfl2:

Nancy stop that job loss talk.

It's inevitable Sistah.

Yeah, ok.... You will be there at 9:30 with the rest of us ;)

Tony wants to get there as early as possible. He loved all the commotion last time and seeing everyone meet up for the first time. We got there early last time but didn't know the trick to getting dropped off early so we had to wait in the parking lot with many other cars until 10:00. We're just going with the flow this time.

hey captn.
we had to shut down here for a little while. nasty storms just rolled through.
cass and nancy would have loved it.
lots of lightning.
it better clear up. the kids are going to an outdoor wedding later. we're going over to watch the grandkids.

We would've loved one of those storms. As long as half of it doesn't end up in my basement again. :scared1:

Sorry guys but due to the threat of "Mike, maybe he'll wear a thong!"we've decided to cancel out this cruise, ive seen some horrible things in my life but even i at such a thought......

If you want to see horrible, hang around with Mike when he is peeking in those SPH rooms....only one cabin in particular though. :scared1:

i guess its better than the "commando look" i sported last weekend eh?

:rotfl2:

Anyone fancy some Kira pics

Always! :cutie:

My not-so-little girl...
And here's my two cuties...

My favorite too.

I am enjoying my lunch as I DIS a bit. Hebrew National Hot Dogs off the grill and a coke. I'm also watching old episodes of Buck Rogers while I was cleaning the living room and now eating.

I tried a Hebrew yesterday for the first time Chris. Pretty darn good.:thumbsup2

Holy cow woman!! : What did you buy???

What the ????? did you get?

A netbook with a webcam so I can see my baby when she moves. :thumbsup2

I haven't gotten the kids theirs yet!!! Guess we need to do that next week.

Too bad you can't use the Easter picture from this year. Remember?, the one where Harrison was facing backwards. Lori, I hope you got that one framed. It was priceless!!:rotfl2:

Did you hear the story about David Carridine's death?

Wasn't it suicide? :guilty:

:scared1:Did Kristen really move?
NOOOOOOOOOOOO

Poor Nancy:grouphug:

How far away did she go?

They move this Thursday to Arizona.

I would definitely recommend KSC, especially with a 9 year old boy. We had not been for about ten years. It is MUCH better than the last time we were there. It comes out to about $35 per person. That includes pretty much everything though. The bus tour is excellent. They have constructed a viewing stand that is four stories tall. At the top, there is even an air conditioned viewing room (Windows all around). There is a small gift shop and snack bar at the ground level. You can stay as long as you want since buses run every 15 minutes. Just get on the next bus when you're ready. The next stop is the Saturn 5 Center. This is a much larger area with exhibits, a larger gift shop, food court, etc. (And of course, the Saturn V rocket laying on its side inside the building.) The final stop takes you to the area where they test and prepare modules and other items bound for the International Space Station. (Very Cool) :thumbsup2 Then its back to the main visitors complex. They have a new motion simulator ride that simulates a shuttle liftoff. This is included in your admission price. The seating is very similar to Star Tours at Hollywood Studios (Except that you seem to lift up to a 90 degree angle.) Very intense, don't miss it. Oh, and there are a few IMAX movies that are free as well.

We got there just after the 9:00 AM opening. Parking is free. We left at 4:30 PM.

All in all this was a great day and a great value for the money.

Is that enough of an endorsement for ya.

You won't be disappointed.

Matthew

We haven't been back to KSC since 1982. It might be something fun to do on Friday before the cruise. :)

Took DS #1 to airport this am, he is off to Europe!!! I am praying they make good - safe choices but still have a good time!

Looks like we're in the same boat Joanne.

I'm paying for everything today!:yay:

Flights, cruise, villa etc

No stopping us now!

We're cruising!

Soon!!!!!!

Good job Karen!:thumbsup2

I'm mad with myself:mad:

Yesterday I found a lovely pine lodge for rent for August for a week. Lovely location near the Lake District, beautiful location - right on a lake, georgous interior, onsite restaurants and pool etc etc...looked perfect!

It was available yesterday..... had an email off the owner last night - its now been booked

I had close to the same experince on Friday Karen. We picked one resort called them it was full. An email later we tried another and by the time we were ready to book that one, it filled up. Then 3 more were tried and nothing available. Finally we snagged a 1 bedroom villa at another resort which we are soooo excited about! It just seems we were a day late and a dollar short after each phone call. :)

Well, yesterday's "good-bye" picnic went well. Not too many tears which is exactly how Kristin and Jesse wanted it. It will be tough on us to see them leave but I can only imagine how hard it will be on Kristin. She is leaving everyone behind. Jesse has family down there already.

We did music cd's for them with our favorite songs on it. It'll keep them company on the 35 hour drive down there.

I'm still tossing around the idea of driving down with them though. I'm just afraid that the ride down will make leaving even tougher on us both.

I asked my mom once: "When do you stop worrying about your kids"? She said: "Never". Boy was she ever right!:guilty:

It'll be a sad day in the cntkg1 household on Thursday. :sad1:

Agreed.

We could just all pick a decent time and all book the main dining room together.

Last time a lot of us were up there at the same time, without being in the special room.

Yep, you took our picture, remember?:thumbsup2

:scared1: Did you hear the story about David Carridine's death?:scared:

Yes...crazy!

Hi Paige. :wave2:

What all does the REAS include?

BTW where has Lori been lately. I haven't seen her on here.

Matthew

P.S. The crowds at WDW weren't nearly as bad as I thought they would be for the week around July 4th. How was it when you guys were there recently?

The crowds weren't horrible like over Christmas, but they got increasingly worse throughout the week. What killed me is that lots of people knew all the "tricks." Maybe there are too many people on the DIS....:rotfl:

Paige - what time did you get for the Two Flags tour.

I think it is 8:45. That was the only option to choose, so that I am assuming that is the only time for that tour.

Here are a couple of pics from KSC. The first was taken from the tour bus. The second shows the Space Shuttle on the pad as seen from the viewing platform.

Checking in really quick as I finish up the PowerPoint for church. It doesn't seem like anyone is around.

WOW!!!! Those are REALLY cool!!!!

I remember taking a 6th grade trip to Houston and seeing the Johnson space center - but they didn't do launches from there, so seeing the launch pad at Kennedy is really AWESOME!!

What did your girls think of it??

Dave and I went out for a nice dinner tonight and we finally got around to talking about what shore excursions and extra stuff we want to do when on the cruise.

For St. Maarten, I think we are going to do the Butterfly Farm excursion. I think the girls will like that and we can also go over to the French side. Plus, after it's over, we can explore a little bit.

For St. Thomas/St. John - I really want to do the St. John tour, but it will take the entire day, and I'm not sure the girls would be interested in that. I think we are going to go off on our own - see the big tram thing and maybe head to Coral World (anyone been there before - is it worth it?)

For CC - we are doing the Parasailing (hopefully). We can not WAIT for that.
Dave really wants to see the Flying Dutchman, but I'm not sure we want to rent a wave runner to do it. I kind of want to do the Stingray thing too, but I don't want to overschedule ourselves when on CC.

Ok - any suggestions or recommendations are welcome!! :thumbsup2

Elaine, My dad, and sister all did this last cruise. It was a little pricey, but an enjoyable time. Make sure you do NOT stand in the harness! Just sit it in it. I did that and had a killer wedge and it took me a few minutes to relax and enjoy the ride.

The Dutchman is viewable clearly from the walkway to the beach. You could even save a few bucks and rent a non motorized watercraft and float on over to.

Our plans are to go on the St. John/Trunk Bay snorkeling excursion in St. Thomas/St. John.

On St. Maarten we are just going to the beach. My dad says there is a nice beach that is very convenient to the ship and the prices for chairs, umbrellas etc are very reasonable. While there we are renting a couple of jet skis.

Cool! I want one, but since booking this cruise (which I couldn't afford in the first place) and then Rikki's outrageous vet bill, no laptop for me.:sad2:

Wasn't it suicide? :guilty:

Yeah, but it was an unmentionable one.
auto erotic asphyxiation

They move this Thursday to Arizona.

Wow:sad2:

At least Arizona is a very nice place to go visit:)

THanks for the advice on the Parasailing! I hope to do it first thing in the morning and I wouldn't want to walk around with a major wedgie all day! :rotfl2:

I would like to do some snorkeling at CC, but I don't know how the girls would do with it. THey are great swimmers, but I think getting the hang of the equipment may be hard for them.

We may change our mind and go to the beach in one of the places - we aren't really "beach people" but you never know.

It's hard for me to kind of "go with the flow" - I like to have things planned out. I'm working on it, though!

The girls enjoyed KSC. (Even if it was educational.) I think it would be really cool if one of my kids worked for NASA. Then I could get a behind the scenes tour. :thumbsup2

Parasailing on CC is awesome. We tried it last time doing the tandem harness. Beth went with Megan and I went with Sarah. Have you seen my video of the experience on YouTube?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9-I-v-OVrw

I shot my favorite picture of the Wonder while parasailing also.

AWESOME!! Love the video! Dave wants to do this because it TERRIFIES him! We are doing it tandem with the girls as well so they can enjoy it. We had to tell Becca it would be just like flying a kite - except that we are the kite! LOL

Have your girls ever considered going to space camp?? (I just remember the movie from when I was a teenager....) I would love it!!!
