The wedding is July 11. One month from today. At this point I am ready for it to be over. Did you feel like you were losing your son when he got married? I feel like I have lost Ryan. We had a discussion last night about the rehearsal dinner. We had it all planned and last night he told me that he wants it all changed. He was never like this before. It is as though he has no respect for us and our feelings. Oh well I am sure it will all work out. Sorry to be such a downer today. I am feeling a little sorry for myself.

That's the same day we leave for our vacation at the beach so I shouldn't forget! I don't remember having those feelings. By the time the oldest got married he'd already been through quite a lot so it was actaully a relief. And I still had 2 more sons at home. By the time the 2nd got married he was older & had been living on his own for several years so again it was a gradual change. The youngest has not lived at home for a long time and hasn't gotten married. So my experience has been somewhat different. I never had an empty nest because the grandkids started coming before the youngest was really on his own. And maybe the fact that they all live within 5 miles of us makes a difference. Now how's that for a philosophical answer!!

Just reread your entire post after I responded - that's too bad about the dinner. Is it really coming from the future DIL? Fortunately I didn't have that problem although I do remember some stories that we can share in Oct. It will make interesting conversation on the beach!!

Hang in there, I am sure he is just trying to please the girlfriend. I dread when we have to go through this? Do you like the girlfriend? Maybe it's just nerves catching up with them.

Just back from photography course - we have homework!

We have to do night photography with various modes on the camera, inc fireworks. He wont let me use my fireworks ones from WDW.

I think it is coming from her and her parents. They are not close to their families and really do not know what it is like to have a big family that is close. It will be interesting.

She is an only child and they are not close with their family so I think it is just they really do not know better. I will need at least KK at CC
