The wedding is July 11. One month from today. At this point I am ready for it to be over. Did you feel like you were losing your son when he got married? I feel like I have lost Ryan. We had a discussion last night about the rehearsal dinner. We had it all planned and last night he told me that he wants it all changed. He was never like this before. It is as though he has no respect for us and our feelings. Oh well I am sure it will all work out. Sorry to be such a downer today. I am feeling a little sorry for myself.![]()
That's the same day we leave for our vacation at the beach so I shouldn't forget! I don't remember having those feelings. By the time the oldest got married he'd already been through quite a lot so it was actaully a relief. And I still had 2 more sons at home. By the time the 2nd got married he was older & had been living on his own for several years so again it was a gradual change. The youngest has not lived at home for a long time and hasn't gotten married. So my experience has been somewhat different. I never had an empty nest because the grandkids started coming before the youngest was really on his own. And maybe the fact that they all live within 5 miles of us makes a difference. Now how's that for a philosophical answer!!
