Well, I am off to Airdrie to pick up my loves :goodvibes

It's taking awhile for the online album to show up, so I will check when I get home.

Have a great evening everyone! :goodvibes

Nothing special, just some down time for Kira. Apparently she's had a rough week-end with many Category 5 meltdowns as we call them. :scared1:

Poor Rob, he said the trip was a huge mistake :guilty: He is all stressed and Kira is not having a good time and despite the fact that there was supposed to be child care all arranged at the wedding for the little ones, it didn't work out at all and Rob and our SIL ended up watching about 10 little kids in a room next to the wedding so they missed everything. :sad2:

Our kid just isn't a traveler :rolleyes1 His parents keep telling us just to throw her in the car and go for trips (cus that's what they did with their kids and now their grandkids) but Kira is just not happy in the car, never has been. Not even with the DVD player :scared:

So...his parents keep talking him into these long car trips and she keeps melting down :lmao: They are building a cabin (to fish and then retire at) about 9 hours from Calgary and they keep telling us to go visit. But I don't travel well in the car so there's no way I am going! Plus I hate to fish :rolleyes1

Aren't ya glad you asked Jeff?? LOL!!!

Sorry to hear Kira is not a happy camper this weekend. Hopefully she'll turn around when she sees her mommy. :thumbsup2

Our DS would fall asleep in the car. It was great. Then we got into the DVD years and that satisfied him. Now he gets dizzy if he watches a DVD or plays is DS (not dear son there) in the car for too long. He is back to taking a nap on the way to my grandma's (2 hour drive).

I get the same way in the car, can't read or anything or it's  ..I am now just able to sleep in the car. I think it has to do all the plane trips back east.

So what's everyone having for dinner. I am going to attempt to make bobotie from Boma's tonight. I think that and a nice salad should be nice.

Hazel made Shrimp Alfredo(sp) tonight. Not a favorite of mine, I don't care for the creamy sauce, but it was OK. Had some sugar-free rice pudding for dessert.

Amazing Race will be coming on shortly, then it will be bedtime for me. Going to have a very windy and frigid day walking around reading meters tomorrow, a lot like Friday's weather, oh joy.............:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

So, I think I'm going to shut down the old laptop for tonight, see y'all tomorrow............:wave2:

Yes, I'm up to date and enjoying every minute.

Thanks, Heather. that is kind of you to say. :flower3:

We've had some real small trunked cars at times. I think the PT Cruiser we had one year was the best.

Chrysler just announced this week that they are going to stop making the PT Cruiser as part of their restructuring. :sad2:

One more rental question...

Does Avis allow you to choose your car? I know Alamo does, but no Alamo at the Port.

Oh, how I wish Alamo was at the Port. That would really bring the rental prices down. I like renting from them.

I can't remember if it is Avis or Budget in MCO that lets you walk out to the isle and take a car from the size group you've rented. I want to say it is Avis, but don't quote me on it.

If you have an Avis Preferred reservation, you pick the category but not the exact car. The reason is that with a Preferred reservation, they have the keys and rental agreement waiting for you out on the garage. If you decided to skip Preferred and go to the counter instead, you can haggle with them for a specific car. My girlfriends and I did this one time when we wanted a convertible - they gave us a really cheap upgrade.

National lets you pick your car from a row. They are also located in the garage at MCO.

I've only rented from Avis, National & Hertz (Boy, do they EVER!!! I would rent a bicycle before I would ever rent from Hertz in Orlando again!) in MCO, so that's all I know about.

Suz seasoned a flank steak that I grilled. Baked potatoes and some applesauce. It was delicious.

Mimi: "Mack you have to read Kathy's 25 random things."
Mack: "Ok"
Mack takes computer and begins reading.
Mack - eyes bugging out of his head - "A professionally trained clown?"
Mimi: "I know, right?"
Mack: "No I can totally see that. So much more makes sense now."
Mack begins snickering and shaking head....
Mack: "Two spleens?"
Mack continues reading.....
Mack: "What's an RC priest?"
Mimi: "Roman Catholic."
Mack: "Are you sure it's not Remote Control" and he raises his hands and moves thumbs as if he is punching buttons or using a video controller...
Mack: "Make him say, 'Argh, Father!'"
:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

So why wasn't Madagascar 2 or Horton Hears a Who not nominated for Animated Film?

I'm surprised they only had 3 in that category.

Too funny

So who is watching the Oscars tonight?

We are, it's hard to believe I was in the same place last just watching the daytime emmy people walk the same red carpet!!
I am a little behind though we paused it for dinner. Which was also steak & baked pototoes.

We are! Dising and watching the Oscars at the same time. It is like my Super Bowl. I love movies and movie trivia.

So who is watching the Oscars tonight?

I am. Missed the beginning and Penelope Cruise winning, other than that I have seen everything. Liking how they are doing the stage this year. The Swaroski Crystal curtain is really pretty too.
