I never said that the open space wasn't beautiful - I agree that it is, but that's exactly why a tv show can blow through six states in one hour. I'm surprised they don't just do a fly over.

Anyhoo ... if anyone would like to read about our sushi night on Friday, I just posted the review on our blog. The link's in my signature - the only post for the month of November (so far).

Thanks!

I read your food porn report. Great. I have never heard of Raglan Road. It sounds good. Walt and I may need to go visit it the next time we go to Disney World. Di

Thanks Di! Raglan Road is a ton of fun, especially when the band is playing. I think it would a great place to have a pre-cruise meet if anyone is going to be at WDW before the cruise next year. :thumbsup2

I have issues with Kansas ... when I was in high school my parents took me to Colorado for a week-long vacation and we drove there. My God ... I didn't think Kansas would ever end. The scenery at mile marker 1 and mile marker 400 was almost exactly the same. :lmao:

I know what you mean! I had a similar experience in Iowa. We were on the Mississippi Queen - the cruise was supposed to be from St. to St. (Paul to Louis ;) only the boat broke down in Davenport, IA. So they had to bus us from Davenport to St. Louis. The scenery was corn fields and McDonald's billboards. I would fall asleep for 1/2 hour and wake up to corn fields and McDonald's billboards...

We just got in. Been gone all afternoon to grandsons hockey. We haven't had a chance to get on because just before Nancy and I went hockey this afternoon we lost power didn't get back until supper time. Had chance to send Mimi a quick PM before we went to #2 son's to have ice cream with grandkids. Needless to say we have been busy today and we have a new thread. Now off to TV to watch the PATS

:lmao: Sounds about right.

My husband's brother lives in Wisconsin and the drive up there through northern Illinois is pretty excruciating. There's a 120-mile stretch where there's just about nothing but farmland ... I just count the miles until there's a place for us to stop so that I can use the bathroom.

I remember that endless drive as well, did it in 1975 and again in 1981 when I took drove Hazel to Colorado to visit friends of ours.............:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Good evening to this thread. I started reading page one from the first post of messages and realized that page 168 was only up to December of 2007. So I decided that I would just say forget it and start reading here. Well some of you might recognize my screen name. I was originally slated to be on the KK1 cruise, but had to cancel due to us expecting an addition to our family. While, it was a great joy knowing that my wife was expecting it was very sad knowing that I would not be able to go on the cruise, especially with the great group of talkative people that were on here. Not to mention that there are a whole plane load of Wisconsin people. Well my cousin and her boyfriend and two kids and my aunt and uncle and dad did go on the KK1 cruise, but they were not very active on here. However, my cousin ( screen name Goofy4Ever ) will probably be somewhat talkative on here. Her boyfriend thinks it is retarded. Little does he know. My wife on the other hand, expects me to read the whole dang thread, and every one of them. :surfweb: Is this available on audiobook? LOl. I can officially say that I am addicted, as I am doing most of the pre-cruise planning.

Well to continue the story, we are all from Wisconsin. Well, let me rephrase that. My dad and grandma moved to Winter Haven, Florida in July, so they are already in Florida. We have five rooms booked. My dad, one uncle and my grandma will be in a category eleven but up on deck six, as we needed a disabled accessibilty room for my grandma. It will be the first cruise for her and my uncle. The rest of us are on Deck two. Two of my cousins and their two nephews will be in a category ten. My aunt and uncle will also be in a category ten. My cousin and her boyfriend will be in a category nine. They have all also been on at least one cruise before. My wife, daughter, and I will be in a category ten as well. It will be the first cruise for the three of us. We wanted to bring our son, who will be a year old this month, but decided not to, so he will be staying with my in-laws for the week. So for a total, we will have five rooms booked for a total of fourteen people from my family here.:grouphug:

Nice to meet you, Firefighter Chris! I love your Donald avitar - my husband, tikimack, is a huge Donald fan!

Good for you Lori......;)

Lina always tries to get Hazel and I to watch scary movies with her, NO THANKS, we aren't into  scary movies......:sad2:

I hate scary movies. Actually after I typed that last thing he asked if I would rather watch a movie together. So we watched Baby Mama. It was funny.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Tina Fay crackes me up.

It is also nice to meet you. I was going to try to reply to everyone, but not sure if that will be possible. I am getting welcomes like crazy already.

That's it for me tonight folks, see y'all tomorrow...........:wave2:

Welcome! I'm Lori traveling with DH scott and our 3 kiddos.

So a bunch of questions and comments for everyone. I see that someone has already arranged for a group discount at the Radisson. Do not remember who, but thnak you very much. What is the deadline for adding our names to that list? I am pretty sure we will end up doing that. Also has anyone done there rental vehicle yet? We are looking at doing two mini vans. We will rent through one of the companys with a drop off near the port. We are flying in Friday and leaving Sunday. So we are doing the one way rental Friday and one way Saturday. We will probably be staying at an all star resort on Saturday, and we will probably also be doing the Trick or Treat Saturday. Is everyone flying in Friday? That is the plan for most of my family. Do we know what is needed for group discount? Any time frame in mind for people? I am so excited about this cruise. I wish it was here already. But then we would not have another year to do posts.
