I wish I had hard copy pics of my trip to Switzerland that I made back in 1974. I had them all made into slides. The saddest thing is, they are packed away somewhere and I have no idea where they are.....:confused3

Like I said, we tweaked what Jen had posted. This is what we used: 6 boneless chicken thighs, 1 package of Italian Salad Dressing mix, 1 can of low fat chicken broth. We cooked those items in a crock pot for several hours on low heat. We then added the package of Knorr's cheddar broccoli rice, let it cook on low for 30 minutes, then on high for another 30 minutes.

I could not believe how good it tasted. At first Hazel was going to make the rice in the microwave. I said "Let's add it in the crock pot and see what happens." I'm so glad we did that!!! :goodvibes

Okay - definitely writing this one down. Now I have to check and see if I have any plain chicken breasts in the freezer. I usually stick something in the bag with them before I freeze them. They marinate all that time and while defrosting. Usually works well, but I guess for this, I need plain ones.

My pampered chef party is now over. It lasted over 4 hours. The girls played and played. They loved cooking the cookies and making them into ice cream sandwiches. Us moms had fun too.:thumbsup2

I hope you got lots of orders! I love Pampered Chef things. My stoneware pieces are my favorites. They may be heavy, but they surely do cook well!

Tiki--those pics are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Thanks - he had a blast. I'll be surprised if after graduation he doesn't move out there, Utah, or Colorado. He loves it out west.

Scott is now watching a scary movie and just asked if I was going to watch it with him and I said no. I will sit here and Dis while he watches it.

Good for you Lori......;)

Lina always tries to get Hazel and I to watch scary movies with her, NO THANKS, we aren't into  scary movies......:sad2:

I lived in Colorado Springs, CO for three months back in 1975, but things didn't work out and I moved back home and within four months of me moving back Hazel and I were married. I remember waking up on June 6th with about 6" of sn*w on the ground, I moved back home within three weeks from that day.......:lmao:

I could look out my bedroom window every morning and see Pikes Peak, it was an amazing view!!! :thumbsup2

I never said that the open space wasn't beautiful - I agree that it is, but that's exactly why a tv show can blow through six states in one hour. I'm surprised they don't just do a fly over.

Anyhoo ... if anyone would like to read about our sushi night on Friday, I just posted the review on our blog. The link's in my signature - the only post for the month of November (so far).

Thanks!

Oh sorry if I misunderstood- a good excuse to post the photos anyway.

I am loving your food reviews! It seems like you have a really good time writing them too. My son and I both write - though he is a paid author and I am not. Yet. I'm still working on it.

I really hope I am assigned to Connecticut for a while. I really like living in this area of the country. I am close to New York, the greatest city in the world and can be a Yankee season ticket holder! The games I don't go to, I get on TV.

Ah, but slides keep so well! I have my daddy's slides from way back in the forties. They are in excellent condition. Even his early color ones (not in the 40's) are so well preserved. Slides definitely keep better than prints, and you can still have them printed. Find those slides, Andy! Those memories are some I bet you'd love to have in your hands again!

I can't even take high suspense - forget scary!

He would LOVE that! One of his fraternity brothers and his best friend, just moved out to Utah last spring. My son went out over the summer and said the ski lift goes over his friend's apartment. He can't wait to go ski out there this winter. We took the kdis to CO last Christmas to ski. It was our first time skiing out west - it was SOOOO amazing! We are all spoiled now! I'd lvoe the snow. My dh went to West Point - he doesn't want to move back to the snow!

Don't worry - my original post was tongue in cheek; ask anyone around here ... I don't usually say much that's actually serious. And I'm glad you posted the pics because they were stunning. Personally I'm a big fan of mountains, especially in Colorado around the Boulder area.

Thanks so much - that's always guaranteed to put a smile on my face.

I love to write and am not published either. I spend my days working in finance so the only place my sense of humor and love of food and travel get to come together is here on the DIS or on my blog.

Congrats to your son - is he a freelance writer or has he published an actual novel?

This was his campsite one night -

And one other night -

That is actually him skipping rocks.

Then there is my favorite from a different trip - and it just has him written all over it.

I think he said he sat there for over an hour till the other guys absolutely said they had to keep moving. I can see why he likes it out west so much.

Breath taking photos!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Be back later, Lina needs a ride to her friend's house, and I have to get back for Amazing Race.........:wave2:

My son would humbly argue this with you - that a whole lotta open space is indeed beautiful. Of course, his college campus is in downtown Atlanta, GA. He is an avid hiker and ultra runner. Here are a few pictures from his most recent trip to Montana.

how beautiful. Walt and I went to Glacier National Park a few years ago. It was beautiful. Diane

These must look very familiar to you! I bet you loved it. Were you on your bikes? It seems like that would be a good place for that - though I'd probably do better in a convertible. :lmao:

!

I gotta jump in here. I went to visit one of my friends in North Dakota a few years ago, and we drove across the state, and through South Dakota, to attend the wedding of another friend in the western part of the state. Growing up on Long Island I can safely say that I had never been anywhere where you can drive for an hour without seeing another live human (of course, there was the Tin Can Family along the Enchanted Highway in SD :lmao: )!

If that wasn't the middle of nowhere, you could sure see it from there!

The Black Hills were beautiful though, so was Crazy Horse.

Thanks for the hilarity! You always crack me up!!!! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

No We drove from Salt Lake City to Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Glacier Mountain, Mt Rushmore, Cheyenne and back to Salt Lake City. It was a road trip by car. We did not have the bike at this time. It would be beautiful on the bike though. Di

I have issues with Kansas ... when I was in high school my parents took me to Colorado for a week-long vacation and we drove there. My God ... I didn't think Kansas would ever end. The scenery at mile marker 1 and mile marker 400 was almost exactly the same. :lmao:

Hey Robin and Mike

I had a busy weekend with kids. Erika on Friday and Kristen, Asiah and Elijah on Saturday. Lots of fun. I had alot of catching up to do when I read today. I was trying to post on the last thread. I went to Walt and asked why I could not post. He showed me it was closed. I am not too swift. I loved your pictures. The video was great. I hope you got caught up with your homework. Diane
