10/24/2009 Bash on the Boat (I'm with B.O.B) Thread #14

Good evening to this thread. I started reading page one from the first post of messages and realized that page 168 was only up to December of 2007. So I decided that I would just say forget it and start reading here. Well some of you might recognize my screen name. I was originally slated to be on the KK1 cruise, but had to cancel due to us expecting an addition to our family. While, it was a great joy knowing that my wife was expecting it was very sad knowing that I would not be able to go on the cruise, especially with the great group of talkative people that were on here. Not to mention that there are a whole plane load of Wisconsin people. Well my cousin and her boyfriend and two kids and my aunt and uncle and dad did go on the KK1 cruise, but they were not very active on here. However, my cousin ( screen name Goofy4Ever ) will probably be somewhat talkative on here. Her boyfriend thinks it is retarded. Little does he know. My wife on the other hand, expects me to read the whole dang thread, and every one of them. :surfweb: Is this available on audiobook? LOl. I can officially say that I am addicted, as I am doing most of the pre-cruise planning.

Welcome Chris! I am Jen, and I am travelling with DH Pete, DS Thomas, and a whole bunch of assorted in-laws.

I don't think I met you on the KK1 cruise thread, but I joined just a few months before we sailed. Glad to have you aboard! I am from WI also...in Janesville.

Be sure to visit Cass's website (aka Timon) or post 1 for the pertinent information of what's been planned so far. I was at the thread from the beginning, and I don't think I've even read it all yet! :lmao:

Here's a pic of him and Rem at Christmas last year.

Howdy Chris, Melissa and Paige

Welcome!!!!

I am Di and my DH is Walt. We are from San Antonio, Texas.

We are a very active group and love to talk and laugh. Walt and I went on the last cruise in October, 2007. We had a great time and met lots of nice people. These people will be on the cruise again with us in October, 2009. There are some new people whom I only know by talking on the thread. I can't wait to meet them next October. Oh, by the way Walt and I were just up in Milwaukee for 5 days for the 105 Harley birthday party. We had a great time. Di

Yes the Harley event. I know ot all too well, as I work right across the street from Milwaukee Harley at pepsi Cola. No people, do not even ask, I am not bringing a truckload of soda on the cruise for everyone. Lol. It was a great time at the Harley Fairs, even thoguh I was working most days. My favorite view is when I came in to work on Saturday, and at 12:00pm noon, my whole front parking lot where my office staff park was filled with bikes!! I was so upset that I did not have my camera. But I was glad to see minimal accidents.

You probably never did meet me. I thik I finally decided that I was not going around May. But it is great meeting you now. Come on Wisconsin'ites, maybe if we get a total of about eight people, we can have a DIS WISCONSIN plane. I would say that would have to consider for a group discount.

I love anything I can throw together before work that quickly! I think my husband would eat it too!

I know - that is why the crockpot is one of my favorite kitchen toys...I love coming home from work and having dinner done!

I've found I can throw in a pot roast pretty quickly in the morning too...I use baby carrots so I don't have to prep them, and since DS does not like the potatoes cooked with the meat (don't ask me why, but I think it's the gravy) I make Betty Crocker Butter & Herb instant mashed potatoes when I get home. It sounds crazy, but these are WAY better than your average instant mashed potatoes.

So what time is dinner tomorrow?;)

I must say, I love pot roast in a crock pot - must have potatoes in it to though. It is amazing. My oven is one of those you can set to start cooking too. I can even put frozen meat in it int he morning and let it thaw, then set it to come on an cook later and be ready when I get home. It's convenient, but with a crock pot, it uses less electricity and you can use cheaper meats since they cook so slowly. Only prblem with that is we are so conscious now of the fat we eat, so we still try to buy the leaner cuts.

These are my two oldest Son both firefighters in Portland Maine

Dan - I didn't know your two older ones were fire fighters! Wonderful! You must be proud!

Here are some pics from Halloween night.

Your kiddos are so adorable. Your little girl looks like she is a real pistol too! I bet you have your hands full! They are precious!!!!

Funny - one of the WI BOBers did look into that, but I think it was still to expensive. It's a fun thought though!

I think I joined the thread around that time - I think it was sometime the summer before we sailed. I wasn't even really looking to join a "meet" group for our cruise, but I posted a question on the main cruise board, and Steve (B9erSteve) invited me over to the KK thread. Best thing I ever did for our vacation - we've had a great time on the last cruise and planning this cruise!

We're sure to have a WI DISmeet or two before the cruise - Jeff is planning a July 4th party for sure (right Jeff? ;) )!

I love it. My grandkids have the shirts. I bought them last summer when I was home. Elijah is a real Celtic, Red Sox and Patriot fan. He wears all their shirts quite proudly. Needless to say He is also a Spurs and Dallas cowboy fan. He wears their shirts too. Diane

We had a great time. We have never seen so many bikes. It was unbelievable. A great experience. Di

I'm going to say goodnight all....

The time change this morning unfortunately did not mean I got to sleep in....it meant that I was up at 4 am instead of 5 am! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
