On Thanksgiving day, after spending the day helping my Mom with her all of her guests (30+ family members), I go to bed early, since I have to be at work at 230am for all of you crazy Black Friday shoppers. Our store opens at 5am!!

Hi guys. Sorry I haven't been around but I didn't have access to the boards in a hospital room! I had a really bad headache on Tuesday, then that afternoon my neck started hurting and when I got home I started with a fever. We went to the ER and I had a spinal tap and they found I had meningitis. It is viral so that is a good thing. I got home a couple of hours ago but am still sore. No work for me tomorrow. Can't go til Monday. So I'm sure I'll have time to catch up.

Oh my stars - how awful and scary too that you could be that sick and just complain of a headache. I am glad you went to the hospital - some people would have written of the sore neck as achy pains like the flu. I hope you are better soon!

Lina said there is talk about the mall she works in opening at midnight on Black Friday. Lina already told her manager she would come in and work from midnight until 6am if she is needed for that shift.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you are feeling better now. We were a little worried a couple weeks ago that Sam had that. She had all the symptoms but it cleared up just before we were going to take her to the doctor.

I always go shopping on Black Friday with my brother (aka Frank for those that know him). When he lived in Bethel, CT. we would get to the Danbury Mall at 7 am and there would always be people leaving that had already finished their shopping. Now that he lives in Riverside, CT,, we go the The Westchester (yes, it's so hoity-toity they don't even call it a mall!) The 1st time we got there at the crack of dawn and we found out that rich people don't get up early - we had the whole place to ourselves! So, now we don't get there quite so early...

Nancy, I loved the photos. I loved the prize basket. I love Dirty Dancing. It was filmed mostly at Mountain Lake in Va. That is near where I am from. That lake is now dry. It had a leak. Here is a pic of the gazebo from the movie that the lake came right up to. You can see the lake in now so low.
