Christopher, this is awesome. I was just about to try to make a map for myself! Thank you for doing it for us!!

Thank you Christopher! Tricari, I ha tried the link to the Facebook page and it hasn't worked. I jut saw it was a closed group can you add me and give me the link?

If you're using a Florida REsident rate, then yes, you will need to email or fax a copy of proof of residency, otherwise they will revert you to rack rate for the cruise. I emailed a scan of my license. I did not hear anything back, confirming receipt, but was told that I wouldn't. They said if there was any issue, I'd get a phone call or email a couple of days before the cruise to make sure they had my proof.

I also included my ressie#, and sail dates with my scan.

I've read on other forums gifts are in rooms is this only for those who have sailed many times? Like backpacks and treats in them..etc?

if you're been on DCL before, you get a castaway club gift in your room.
(i think for silver level - the lowest level- it's a backpack now).

It's one gift per room, no matter how many in the room have sailed before.

and some TAs put gifts in the room, so that's another possibility.

Plus you could buy a gift to have in the room.

I've ordered a few gifts for my mom and sister - hopefully, they won't read this thread so it will be a surprise!! :)

We're celebrating both of their birthdays, so i ordered something for each of them. (my sister's birthday is halloween, so naturally hers is the fun gift with the halloween theme :))

Hmm this will be our 2nd - do you sign up somewhere or do they just know?

call up DCL and have them check that you're listed as a prior cruiser (castaway club member). That it's on your reservation.

and while you're on the phone with them, ask about the proof of florida resident requirement that you saw on the net. And ask where you're supposed to send it.

ST are popping up everywhere now down here now! DH loves ST!

well as a vegetarian, you can imagine why i LOVE ST!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

i wish they were in michigan, so that i could eat there when visiting my family.
but alas, the closest one is in chicago somewhere...(the last time i looked in any case)..

I contacted DCL this am regarding FL rates. At the time I booked our cruise, the email that was sent to me said to show proof of residency at port check in. THANK goodness for this forum ... Cause when I called they said that I do in fact have to email or fax proof within 48 hrs of booking. Luckily she resent me a conf email with the updated policy for this rate!!!! I would have been mighty mad had I showed up for a cruise that they cancelled on me due to no communication of this !!!! She did however say that because we had cruise documents, etc that we prob would have been fine, it's just the thought .... Eeek!!

Thank you guys for the communication about this! I am emailing our proof right now!!

Ps. I requested main dining, she said plenty of room avail and switched us!! So excited now... Won't have such late meals!!!

Yikes!

Congrats on main dining. We'll be seeing you at dinner! I'm glad there's still room at early seating - I think it bodes well for a not too packed ship!

Thinking about the sports simulator... I'm sure my kids would love it. Should I book a couple of hour packages and have them share, or is that not allowed?

Good morning to everyone! I was working on my FE's and realized I haven't signed any of them.. is that to be expected or will anyone know who its from if I put "from the ___________ family"?

Joined the facebook group! Totally get what Christopher is saying about others spoiling the surprise! My 4 yr old doesn't know we are going on the cruise or to the World after. I have had about 5 people say something about our trip when she was in ear shot (Even though I have told everyone it is a secret.) Luckily she wasn't listening half the time and the other half I was able to save it with "when we go when you are older" and "when we go with grammy and pa in two years" (parents are planning on taking the whole family on a cruise in 2014.) We don't plan on telling her until we are getting in the car to drive there. Not sure if we are going to tell her about Disney World until after the cruise or before! (The almost 2-yr old "knows" though.) We have looked at a Disney cruise travel brochure and watched the planning DVD (for the 2014 trip *wink wink*) so she knows what the cruise is. (And she talks about our WDW trip from last year all the time!)

Fun!! I'm guessing that when we finally tell out kids on the 19th, that at least one of them is going to say he or she heard something that made them think we were going. My husband is about to burst! Every time something Disney gets mentioned, he sneaks a peek at me as if to ask "can't we tell them now?". I just avoid his eyes!!!

We have not told our son yet. He sees the FE gifts I am doing, however because we live Disney everyday, I have told him they are Christmas presents for our friends and he believes me. Tech I'm not lying, they are presents ... For new friends.... Just not for Xmas.

Every day I want to tell him. I'm trying to contain my excitement. But my shopping and crafting and planning... I am floored he does not know!!!

Our friends are going in 1 week and when my son finds out he is going to freak... It's going to be hard not to tell him!!

Did you all set up a call for your kids??
