I'm such an idiot. Can you please explain because I just don't get it?! :upsidedow :scratchin

It came off from where it belonged and is now attached to where it doesn't belong - A more precise description would break posting rules ;)

I have a few questions now..
does anyone know what kind of shore excursions will be offered on costa maya? I couldn't find any on the DCL website..

Also, DH really really wants to go fishing..has anyone done this excursion? is it worth it? is it even offered anymore?

Last one--what kind of stage shows are offered on the 7night? On our honeymoon it was golden mickeys, hercules, and disney dreams...someone PLEASE tell me they're still doing disney dreams...!!

Thanks for all the info! :jumping1:

So far you will have lots of Cruisetoberfest-neighbours on Deck 7. Decks 7 and 2 are so far the strongest factions, but I'll do some statistics soon to make sure of this.
If I remember it correctly RellingTwin's DH & DS have done the fishing, perhaps you may want to contact them.
We'll start looking into excursions later that year. For the last cruises many of us didn't use DCL, but made their own arrangements.
As far as I know Hercules has been discontinued, I know nothing of the other shows. But with more than a year to go, there may be changes anyway.

Eric,

I have been sitting here waiting to read how you were going to explain that joke.. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Bye, Kim

As some of you already know, Cathy's husband Art had surgery last Thursday. Cathy called me to ask for prayers and pixie dust from our fellow cruisers. I have not posted anything about this before, as I was waiting for her to give me permission to post. Cathy is our main designer for the logo's that we use on every cruise.

Art is doing better, although he is still nauseated and somewhat weak. He may be in the hospital the remainder of this week. Cathy is staying with him in the hospital 24/7 and is doing somewhat better now that he is in a room. Please keep this family and all of our other sick and injured friends in your thoughts.

Art is a good size fellow like me so an extra large dose of pixie dust may be required. Us big size people need more hugs and pixie dust than you tiny skinny people:banana:

I know that we all are looking forward to the time that we meet in line inside the terminal getting ready to go onboard.

Mike

Prayers and pixie dust going out to Art and Cathy. Here's to a speedy recovery. We need to see you in October, 2006.

Tracy and Bill

Sending more prayers and pixie dust to Art and Cathy. Hope Art is completely recovered and home soon.

Prayers and pixie dust to Art and Cathy from me as well. Here's hoping for a complete and speedy recovery.

We had a wonderful few days at WDW. We finally got to do Victoria and Albert's which was just exquisite. Since we were going all out, we decided to do the wine pairing with it. They started us out with 2 glasses of champagne and then followed it with 7 different wines (actually one was a dark ale!) matched to each of your different courses. Most of the portions were very small so you were able to fully enjoy all of the different offerings without feeling overly stuffed. I must admit I was feeling pretty plotzed by the time the dessert wine came around.......thank goodness we only had to take the monorail back!
Our trip was filled with all sorts of little unexpected surprises and amenities, so it was really quite nice. We got upgraded to a castle/lagoon view; we ran into an old friend that works for Good Morning America (owned by Disney) and ended up with 6 free park hoppers so that was an unexpected treat. Then we took a behind the scenes tour of Epcot and as a perk they gave us VIP seating for Illuminations that night. We used Magical Express and it worked like a dream. We checked our bags in Raleigh and after a few hours at the park, came home to find them all waiting in our room. the only down side was that it was truly unbearably HOT! MK was open until 2am and although we only stayed until a little after 11pm, it was still steamy as midday. There was just no escaping the heat if you were outdoors. I was seriously thinking of getting a Grand Villa and bringing my 2 sisters along with their families next summer, but if it's going to be this hot, we'll have to choose another time.
Nancy: guess what? I also got a call from AAA telling me it was getting close to the time that I needed to get my cruise money in! I just hope all the perks we're supposed to be getting will be valid next year as well.

jeanneg, sounds like you had a great time at WDW. Along with the fireworks cruise at EPCOT, Victoria and Alberts is on my list as a must do someday. My birthmom said she heard it was great and would be perfect with us because of our love of wine. Though I think I would be pretty tipsy too :rotfl2:

Tracy

From one Pooh sized person to another...Sending Pooh sized prayers /\ and pixie dust *~*~*~* to Art and Cathy.
Not much to report from the Hills of Wild & Wonderful West Virginia. It's hot, hazy and humid. Today was the worst. Just unbearable. We stayed inside until Connor's OT at 3, then Steve got off work early (rare!) and we met for dinner and then bought the rest of the things we will need for when Daisy gets here. All I need now is her food!...and HER! :daisy: It looks like August 9 will be our pick up day. The boys are ready to burst with excitement!

Stay cool Ya'll! :cold: :cool1:

Tracy

Tracy,
we did the fireworks cruise before Cruisetoberfest I. It was great!!!
Dreams Unlimited was able to book a boat for us. I then posted it on the Boards and 'sold' eight spaces. 'Sold' means we split the cost evenly. I had eight reservations within a couple of days and after a week I even had a waitlist. As it was on 09/17/01 I was afraid that no-one would show up, but when we arrived at our meeting point -the little monument in England- everyone booked & some waitlisted people were already there. One couple even drove down from Colorado in three days as there weren't any flights. So instead of just taking eight with us, we took ten (Twelve is the maximum for that pontoon boat).
Before the fireworks we cruised along MGM and Swan/Dolphin and then tied up the boat under the International Gateway bridge. The Captain gave us large towels then, because there was one downside: Due to the prevailing winds lots af ash-particles floated over to that bridge and we got a bit dusted.

Hi everyone

Just popping in to say hi. I missed about 10 pages of posts over the last couple of weeks. I really need to keep up on reading.

Art & Cathy, my prayers are with you--get well soon!

Bette, you too!

Welcome to all the new cruisers. I promise you are going to have a blast! :cool1:

Hey, Eric. I'm wondering if you'll send me the history of Cruisetoberfest. I don't think I've seen it.

Eric--It's gotta be late--I did not get that joke, even after you explained it.

The best birthday month? It's a toss-up, as David's is August 3rd and Heidi's is October 10th.

:cold: The heat is absolutely unbearable here--I don't have a/c (not even a room unit). We've spent a lot of time walking around the mall & the grocery store. I'm taking the kids with me to work to help them get out of the heat. Thankfully, it's supposed to break tonite.

Nancy, I can relate to the phone ringing at work. Mine seems to be non-stop, which wouldn't be much of an issue, if I could do the work the callers are calling about. But the e-mail requests never seem to end, either. I've been spending an average of an extra hour a day just to get caught up. I'm sure just because I'm new at this, things are taking longer than they will once I settle in.

We're still VERY happy with Springfield. I don't regret this decision in the least.

Nothing new to report on the legal issues here. I wish Tom would light a fire under his lawyer to get some constructive work done, not just paper pushing to pad the bill!

Heidi and David EACH got a copy of HP VI, at midnight on Friday/Saturday, the 15/16th! Am I the best Mom in the world or just a crazy woman? They took them with them to Dad's for the week, so I didn't get a chance to even open the book until this past Saturday. I'm on chapter two now (although I did let Heidi tell me all about it). Heidi had it finished by Sunday. Oh, Mike--you mentioned you're too lazy to read. David has all the books on tape (except the new one), read by Jim Dale :listen: . They are wonderful! And I got most of them cheap on eBay. Jim Dale does a great job--he has a different voice for each character--about 150 of them, and he NEVER seems to mess them up.

It was a tough week with the kids being gone. I was very lonely.

I had kept my car unlocked one night (totally by accident!). I woke up Thursday morning to discover my 6-CD changer was stolen out of the trunk. Just opened the door, popped the trunk! My consolation is that out of 6 cd's, 5 of them were Christian music! And my insurance company had me paid on Friday morning! So Volkswagen ordered the part & it should be in sometime this week. Unfortunately, the radio doesn't work now, so it's very quiet in the car.

David was sleeping with me tonite, and at about 3 am, he knocked something off of my headboard. KNOCKED ME RIGHT IN THE HEAD! :headache: Of course, then I was up. So it'll be funny to see how I handle 3 pm today--that's about when lack of sleep catches up with me.

Well, I said I was just popping in. I guess I got a little chatty. Have a great day everyone, and I'll be back online soon!

Love, Marianne

Okay, Gang. I have an idea.

The last thread ran for just over a year. Papa just posted that he's going to have them lock it. As of right this minute, there are 5,120 replies on it.

This new thread will run just over TWO years.

Let's have a pool to guess how many replies will post at sailing time (5:00 p.m. on October 14, 2006).

E-mail me your guesses & I'll keep them until then. Maybe we'll put together some kind of prize, reward, whatever.

mdenn1213@yahoo.com

Hope to hear from you!!!! :wave2:

Marianne

This was posted back in October. As we have so many new cruisers since then, I decided to bring it to the front again.

I have chosen an arbitrary date to end the counting--I'll announce that date on board. The person with the number closest to the exact without going over will be the winner.

Hope to hear from you all soon!

Love, Marianne

Marianne,
bad luck about your Beetle. But on the other hand you can call yourself lucky: A German insurance wouldn't have paid, because the car wasn't properly locked.

I'm on the final 150 pages of HP VI now. I like it very much - can't wait for VII.

We're expecting a heatwave for later this week with temps of up to 37°C/99°F on Thursday, but that's what we have a convertible for :cool1: :sunny: :teeth:
And for Friday I was just invited by our CEO to attend a donation ceremony on the River Main in Frankfurt: Our company donated some money to our local water rescue branch and as the head of our volunteer first aiders and firefighters I will accompany him. The ceremony includes a testdrive with the boat :p

HEY KIDS!!!
Heidi tells me there are a limited number of posters on the Cruisetoberkids thread!

She was surprised to hear the adults are reaching post number 3,800, when they're only at about 400.

Let's step it up a bit! Just think how much fun you're going to have on vacation when you already know possibly most of the kids on the ship!!

Actually, Eric, I was worried about the same thing. But I'm wondering, because the changer was mounted in the trunk and the bracket was damaged, that they possibly considered it damage rather than theft? I don't know, but I do consider myself fortunate.

Hi all.
My name is Marilou and I am Art's sister - All your Pixie dust seems to be working. He has had a few bad days but things are looking brighter. He had a good night last night and is feeling much much better today. If he would only start eating he could get some of his strength back. They are hopeing for soft food today. Keep that Pixie dust coming his way. Cathy could really use a extra dose of Pixie dust - she hasn't left his side.
