Welcome ImagineMeDisney

Kim--- Am I suppose to be linking to some kind of list as I don't see it. I only see the upcoming celebrations.

Bette--- Hope that you are feeling better, Pixie Dust your way.

Michelle-- Those watermelon cakes look amazing. I hate to bake. All the cupcakes and cakes that I ever sent for a function come from the store. Take care of that ankle.

I have no secretary so I take out my frustrations on the residents. We just got the new ones so need to break them in.

I heard that Scotty's ashes are going to be sent up into space on a rocket. So Scotty will be "Beamed Up"

Fiona--- Are the Jays still behind the Orioles? I should pay attention since everyone in my area are big Orioles fans.

Made reservations at OKW for 12/8-12/14. It was hard to get a studio or even a 1 BR on any of the DVC properties. There was not any DVC studios or 1BR for the first weekend of Dec. I started from Nov 30 and had MS work forward until she could get me at least 5 days together. Only spots open were OKW (my favorite) or SSR. Since Jean's report on SSR, I decided not to try any new adventures and just go back to our home resort. I let our Annual Passes expired in June so will get new ones with the DVC discount in Dec. I would rather have them expire in Dec than June.

I don't think I had mentioned about my sofa ordeal. Last year when I got a new Living room sofa and love seat, I had my sons move the old living room furniture (which was only 2 years old) to the family room. In the process they ripped a hole the top of the sofa. I had bought a warranty on the furniture that covers tears, stains etc. I called the company next day and they said it was covered. Well for a year I have been fighting to get a resolution to the situation. It couldn't be repaired so I was to get a new back for the sofa, however the material was discontiued. Then they said I could get a new sofa, well that doesn't help as that won't match the loveseat. Finally the company has said we can get a new sofa and loveseat. So Norm and I went and picked one out yesterday. Now waiting to see if the company is going to ok the purchase. What a pain in the butt.

Must get to my real job now.

Have a good day everyone.

Nancy

Bette...prayers and pixie dust to you...hope you're feeling better...stay away from old lobster!! Prayers and pixie dust to whomever else may be ailing and need it.

Beautiful day here today....it's supposed to be 90 degrees but very little humidity....the humidity the last few weeks has been terrible.

Nancy....Team Guido has to go....I was hoping that they were eliminated last night....they are annoying me. Plus Frank (black man) is really annoying me....he is nasty to his wife....when she waved at someone in the kayak, he started telling her to knock it off. I did cheat and found out who won though.

Sarah finished Harry Potter on Saturday (got it at 12:01 p.m. on Friday)!!

As a secretary, who answers the phone all day long with stupid people calling, now you know why I don't want a cell phone (although we just got one mainly for Sarah when she goes out) or to answer the phone at night. No thank you....I am on the phone all day....don't need to be on it at night!!

Jeanneg....have fun at Disney....we also cast a vote for Mae and I had several people at work vote also!! Mary Jo

Bette - Hope you're feeling better soon -- Pixie dust to you.

Wish we got the channel with all the old Amazing Races but we don't. Would be interesting to watch from the beginning. They are supposed to start the old Survivors here on the Outdoor Network.

Baltimore is still ahead of the Jays -- we are in 4th place but 5 games behind New York and 2 games behind Baltimore who are in 3rd place.

Busy here at the office. Have to admit I can't believe how much work my secretary gets done when she has to take the number of phone calls that she does.

Back to work. Still hot and humid here although maybe it will break on the weekend?

Fiona

Bette: Hope you feel better with each day. Get lots of rest and drink fluids. Pick your own :rotfl:

Kim: I have someone working on the item that you and I have been trying to purchase. Will let you know if it comes through. Hopefully it will

MaryJo--- Since it will be finished in a couple days, I have restrained myself from looking at who won. I do like the two young guys with the nice bodies who are currently in 1st place. As for Team Guido, so glad they screwed up the fast forward. Since there is no bunching points like in current AR, I would think they are so far out they will soon get eliminated.

Nancy

Thanks to all for the compiments on the cakes! Martha I am not! That recipe was sent to me from Betty Crocker. I am on thier email list. It was so easy! That is the only kinds of crafty things I do...easy ones! I enjoy baking, and eating what I bake! I can bake from scratch or a box. Since the boys were born, I have tended toward box recipes though. It's just less time consuming!
Bette, Sending you tons of pixie dust *~*~*~*~ and prayers /\ that you are feeling better soon! That just has to be aweful!
krdisneybound..I just noticed in your siggy that you got to blow the Mickey Horn last week! WAY COOL!!! Congrats!

I finished the Harry Potter Book, in less than 2 days, :teeth: It was too good to put down

Michele do you scratch before, during or after you bake? :rotfl2: :love2:

Sorry I couldn't help myself. Mike

Bette -- Sure hope you are feeling much better by now -- more pixie dust on its way to you!

Kim -- Sorry about the hot water heater. Enjoy your dinner at Maggiano's.

Allen -- Have a great time on your Wonder cruise. We did our first Wonder last month. Identical ship so you feel at home on it and know your way around, but I like the decor of the Magic better. Also all the extra days. A short DCL cruise is far better than none at all!

Mary -- Have you read all of Nelson DeMille's books? He is one of my favorite authors, but he has not written enough books as far as I'm concerned.

ImagineMeDisney -- If you sent your information to Eric (Viking), you should be getting a history of Cruisetoberfest from him.

Nancy -- Hope your sofa ordeal is soon over and your purchase gets approved. I just hate it when it takes forever to get problems solved. I think you made a wise choice in reserving OKW instead of SSR. SS is really nice and all new but I still like OKW better. We are going back to OKW next April after trips to SSR, BWV, HHI, and BCV this year.

Michele -- Forgot to compliment you on the watermelon cakes in my last post. They are sensational -- great picture of them, too!

Hot here today temp was in the upper nineties. Heat index was between 105 F and 110 F, 40 to 43 degrees C.

Mike

Allen, Sorry to hear that you will be skipping PCB this time. But have fun on the Wonder. Let me know if you plan a trip down here again. Looks like after being "ALONE" in this part of the county for so long, we are getting some more semi-local Disers.

Bette...Lots of pixie dust and love. Get well soon.

Jeannie, Also a huge Demille fan. My favorit was Spencerville, but love them all. I agree, he could pick up the pace a bit. But always worth waiting for.

Logan1, Did you know that this is the big Billfish Tounament Weekend? Weigh-in is at Bay Point each night. Kind of fun, music, food, as so on. ::yes::

Work, work, work....can't remember what it's like to work one job. Oh well, got to pay for the cruise some how. ;)

ImagineMeDisney The Cuisetoberfest story is a good one. You just have to read it for yourself. So glad you are no longer timid. Now we can tell you about the blood oath, and the, Oh, never mind. :scared1:

Later, Avé

Read some DeMille books too and liked them.

Harry Potterwise I'm still not through with, but I don't want to rush it. I guess this weekend I should find some time to read more of it.

ImageMeDisney,
I'm still waiting four your info :wave2:

PixieDust to Bette and everybody else who's in need of it ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Pixie dust and prayers to Bette and everyone that needs it also. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~ Talked to Allen aka Big Red 1 yesterday and we are going to meet up with Rich and Rosemary when they are in town next weekend.

I enjoyed the Harry Potter movies, but I am too lazy to read the books.

Safe travels to all of our friends going on cruises and to the world. Mike

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. The greatest part is that my birthday isn't even until tomorrow, so it's a nice, long celebration. We usually go out for dinner, but I decided that it would probably be less stressful for the girls to just have a nice steak & shrimp dinner at home.

WDW was a blast. We just realized today that it's the actual 50th anniversary celebration of Disneyland today. We ended up getting 2 limited edition pins commemorating the event. One was just for today, the other is a 12-pin collection that will come out on the 17th of every month. We thought that we might be able to pick them up over the next year to complete the collection.
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, AMY!
Mine was on the 18th, as well!

Nachträglich alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Melody :wave2:
(Happy belated birthday)

Mike,
even though the HP movies are awesome, the books are better.
In the beginning I even considered not seeing the movies as I was afraid they would 'destroy' the pictures I had in my mind, but in the end I couldn't resist.
And IMHO Mrs Rowling must be praised for making kids read again. In Germany she even made a lot of people take up reading English as they can't wait for the books to be translated. The English versions of the last three Potter-books each topped the German bestsellerlists for mnany weeks - at least until the German editions were published. BTW, 10/01 is the Magical Day in Germany.

With Lord of the Rings I did the same. Somehow I never read the trilogy, but when it was clear that the movies would come into the theatres, I started with 'The Hobbit' and then tackled the trilogy - And I must admit that it was the most demanding book I read so far in English. I needed nearly four weeks for the four volumes
