Michele--congratulations on the medical good news.

Eric & Anja--congratulations on the fine race. :cheer2:

Welcome home to the travellers. Glad you all had a good time. Peter, I'm curious. I can see getting the wrong bag, but an extra one?

I must say, everyone...

I am VERY disappointed in how many people are expecting to be "drowned out" at karaoke :sad2: . How many will that leave us to drown you out? Cruisetoberfest III was my first time, and it was a blast! Doesn't matter how you sound (remember Dancin' Queen?)--as long as everyone has fun. :teeth:

I've been packing & packing & packing. I can't believe how empty some areas of my house are--and then, there are many areas that have so much to be done :earseek: Makes me wonder if I'm going to reach my Friday deadline.

The landlady called me yesterday. She was doing some remodeling work on the house, and we agreed that she'd be done by June 3rd. Turns out, she thought I was moving this weekend (Memorial Day), so she worked her tail off to get it done. Not sure if she was happy that she has a week to relax, or wishes that she'd known, so she could have spread out her work. :hourglass

Got some bad news today. It looks like my good friend from childhood and her husband are splitting up. Unlike mine, she saw this coming. But I think she was formulating a plan that she would leave. Ends up, he threatened divorce. So she just said, okay. I hope I can be as supportive a friend to her as all of my friends (old AND new) have been to me. BTW, thanks again to all of you who have supported me. I can't say that enough. It really has made a difference in my life.

Well, my break's about done. Gotta get back to it. Have a great rest of the holiday.

Love, Marianne (am I Marianne today? Or am I Heidi again? :confused3 )

Hi Everyone! Glad to hear everyone is making it back from their trips safe and sound. I loved the pictures and the stories!

Mary and George: I had to tell you that I finally got MY first real NASCAR experience yesterday at the Coca-Cola 600! Wow! Now I know the "rush" you get from being there. I've lived in Mooresville for 8 years surrounded by the stuff, but haven't gotten into Nascar. We got spoiled and got seats in the suites (from a business associate). But also got to walk the track, tour the pits, and garages too! I loved walking alongside the track(on the other side of the fence of course) while the race was on. The wind and noise was incredible. I took some video of a Dale Earnhardt look alike. That was fun. Also enjoyed and got pictures of Ryan Seacrest and the American Idol crew (minus Bo and Carrie). They were awesome! Chris got great pictures, email or pm me and I'll send them to you.

Hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend! Stay safe!
Laura

Marianne: I'll let you in on a little secret, but don't tell anyone.........I'm actually WORSE than Dancin' Queen! Re the things you just posted......now aren't you glad you didn't cancel last year?

Happy Memorial Day to all the Veterans. Thanks for serving our country.

Michele-- Congratulations on your good news. As a breast cancer survivor, I know the anxiety you must have been feeling. Glad things works ok fine for you.

Welcome back to Tracy and Peter& Jen. Tracy, I didn't realize you were just going for the long weekend. For some reason I thought you were also doing the 7 day cruise.

Peter-- Thanks for all the wonderful pictures from the Magic.

Are Kim and Bette back yet?

Marianne--- Good luck with your move.

Jeanne- We so enjoyed having lunch with you and John on Sat. I have begun doing some exploration on the Alaska cruise. I will pm you some of my additional questions. Not sure yet if we are going but am at least doing some fact finding.

We have survived DS#2 21st birthday. Had to pick him and friends up from the bar at 2:30am. For some reason the cab refused to bring them home or so they said. You know you give them the alcohol lecture and no drinking and driving lecture and hope for the best. At least they didn't drink and drive and he wasn't quite as blastered as he could have been. I liked it much better when it happens while they are still in college and I don't know what is going on.

Laura--- Glad you enjoyed the NASCAR race. I enjoyed sleeping through it.

Papa-- I will pass on the fly in the sky thing.

Eric--- I won't be doing the jet ski thing either.

Jeanne is also working on getting Norm to come to NYC in Oct.

Back to the real world tomorrow.

Nancy

Just finished catching up with this and the Repo cruise threads. The repo thread is absolutely amazing. Welcome back to our Cruisetoberfest Repo cruisers -- Pete and Jen, Bette and Kim and Dave and Ellen!

Returned today from PA after taking RV for our first "off-Island" trip. Everything went great, even with the raining on our picnic in the park (great nephew said he had the BEST fun at that picnic). We did miss out on getting together with Cathy (Goofynut) and Art due to SIL scheduling of events while we were up there. But, I am hopeful that we WILL get together one day, and not by chance in Walmart again, because we will be going there much more frequently in the future.

Michel and Allen,

thanks for offering to get those games for me, I really appreciate the offer!!!
But after surfing the web today for some time I found a webshop -which is even located in my hometown- that offers the games for about the same they cost in the States. They obviously import them in large numbers from Japan and thus can sell them at very competitive prices - and they even don't charge for P&P!!
So once again: Danke schön :wave2:

Talking about the Surprise Eggs:
What about us bringing them in September when we come to Boston? We could then mail them from there and the temps should be better for sending chocolate.

Eric,
If you change your mind about the games, or anything else you need, you know how to find me :earboy2:
For the Suprise Eggs, whatever is convenient for you...I'm easy. :teeth:

BTW, since this is a Cruise Meets thread, the local school board is toying with the idea of changing the schedule for the fall '06 break from 2 weeks to 1 week. That could be good with respect to being able to join Cruisetoberfest IV  It could also mean we won't be able to cruise at all :sad2: Think happy thoughts..... :p

Hey everyone!! I hope your Memorial Day was a good one. We had a little BBQ and then went swimming in the pool for an hour or so. Madison just LOVES being in her little baby floatie and Emily is a fish in the water. Then, I've been scrapbooking all evening. Everyone is in bed now, and it's so quiet around here.

Chris had Lasik surgery on both eyes on Friday and is recovering well. He went from not being able to read the big "E" on the charts, to having 20/15 vision. He is SO happy that he did it. So, I'm going in this coming Friday to have mine done. I'm a little nervous, but we're going to one of the best Lasik surgeons in the country, so that makes me feel a little bit better.

Well, back to finish up my scrapbooking page that I'm working on, then it's bedtime for me.

Welcome home to all of our Repo cruisers. Hope that all of your luggage made it home with you.

Peter did the gotcha's in the extra bag fit?

Allen have our fingers crossed for you being able to cruise the week before or even better with us next year.

Rosemary glad that your RV made it off of the island and you had a safe trip.

Mike

Hi Everyone,

Mom & I are back home. The trip was fantastic, (until we had to collect our luggage after leaving the Magic) We crawled into the house at 1:00 am today. I was at work at 7 am. I am sure I will hit the sack early tonight. I will do a cruise report for you all this weekend. And catch up on the boards.

Bye, Kim

Allen,
we keep our fingers crossed for you.

Amy & Chris,
good luck for your Lasik. A coworker of mine did it some time ago and says it gave him back a lot of life-quality. Although it is not without risk: A very popular young actress/singer in Germany just had Lasik. The night after the operation one of teh lenses protecting her eyes slipped and this eye had to be redone. She still has to stay out of bright sunlight, had to cancel her tour and lost a couple of film-contracts.
Fortunately I still have full vision on both eyes. Just had a test with my company's doc and everything is 120% - at age 41!! The same goes for Anja. My Dad needed his first glasses at 35, but I already broke that record. My cousin is slowly getting mad at Anja & me: She's an optician and we are the only ones in the family she can't do business with ;)

As for Karaoke, I'll be glad to get on stage and sing loudly. I'm only worried I won't be able to stay up that late. :confused3

BigRed (sorry, don't know your real name) good luck with the school board. My kids will be in school and I'll be teaching, but we'll be on the ship anyway. I am hoping for one teacher work day that week since we usually do get one in Oct.

Feel safe. I took my CPR recertification class today, so if any of you chokes on a peanut at the bar, I will be well equipped to yell for Eric or Laura to come and help you.

Jennifer

Repo Cruisers, welcome back. We're all so jealous.

I'm very curious: Did anyone get tired of being on the ship that long?

Jennifer

Hi everyone, I am going to try to post again. I have posted several times in the last few weeks, only to have my post "dissapear" when I looked for it later.

Welcome home to resent cruisers. Looking forward to trip reports!

Welcome to our new cruisers! Glad to have you with us.

Allen...pixie dust to you! Hope the date work out so you can join us!!!!
George and the kids are just back from a 3 day canoe/camping trip. They had a blast!

Rosemary and Richard...looking forward to your visit!

Laura...would LOVE to see the pictures e-mail is RellingTwin@aol.com
The race was very exciting! I was bummed Mark Martin was involved in a wreck :sad2: But, that's racing!

Eric, I am thinking that DH and I (maybe the kids) would like to do the jetski tour at CC. I know the boys will want to do the fishing trip also, but since we will be going there 2 times we can do it ALL! Regina has also been asking about doing the para sailing.I don't think she can go alone since there is a min. weight (and I know I don't want to go with her) I'll have to look into it a bit more.

I sure hope this post shows up!

My wife is the :teacher: , I can get vacation any time. :teeth: She took a week off 2 years ago so we could go with a group to Hawaii...that cost us dearly. We won't be doing that again.

Allen (most of my friends call me BigRed. I'll answer to almost anything, especially if its time to eat!) ;)

:rotfl2:

Know of Several Cruisers on the Repo That Booked for this Trip..
Eric Get Ready LOL

Pete,
have you given them the contact info already?

Jennifer,
with so many nurses in our group there's not only Laura and me you can yell for, and we also have an ophtalmologist.

Laura,
I would like to see the NASCAR-pics too, please.
What I liked this weekend was that lady finishing fourth in the Indy500. I hope she's going to make it into Formula One sooner or later.

Mary,
good to see you posting again. Missed Ya, Sis :wave2:

Jennifer- Our kids have school that week too, and like you, we're still going on this trip too. Looking forward to seeing you. Pixie dust to you for a teacher's workday. I couldn't imagine cruising on another date or with another group.

Mary- Great to hear from you! Maybe I can talk Amy into tandem parasailing with Regina. I'll get those pictures posted one way or another. I let Chris handle it since all I can do is point and shoot:)

Today should be interesting. Have to take a group of teenagers (my son and friends) to a rock concert :rockband: . It's general admission so he wants to camp out on the pavement all afternoon to get good seats. (By the way, its raining today  :umbrella: ). Luckily, I might recognize a few songs since he plays the same cd's over and over on the way to and from hockey practice. Gotta go get the minivan gassed up... :moped:
Laura :wave2:
P.S. I love smilies, can you tell?

Good morning all:wave: Hope that everyone had a great holiday. Talked to Bette yesterday and she was knee deep in unpacking and laundry :cool1:

Peter good luck with your pin collection.

Dan called me on memorial day and he and Scott are doing well. They said to tell everyone hello and they miss us all.

Eric picked up a cd from Pfaff that is the Hummel collection that can be sew on the embroidery machine. There were 20 designs and most importantly the correct colors of thread included. Oh I also saved 25% off the $165 price.

With two stops at Castaway Cay there should be ample opportunities for everyone to get the shore excursion that they want to do. Remember to slather on the sunscreen. This is important for small children, fair skinned adults and our neighbors that are not used to that amount of sun.

What band are you going to see?
My older son has been DP (Director of Photography) for several music videos lately. None of the groups are any that I recognize, but there's a real generation gap here. He worked on quite a few but the ones I remember are the Kites, Rufio, Anberlin (sp?) and Dizmaf (sp? again). The Anberlin one should be on one of the MTV channels the end of this week as it has guaranteed air time. None of the bands are all that big (nor have the big budgets that go with it) but at least he's getting experience and the ability to call the shots, which isn't too shabby considering he's just out of school one year. Have any of the younger folks heard of these bands?
