Then you'll fit in perfectly. Eric is the only one who actually enjoys strutting his stuff!

In your dreams, Jeanne!! :rotfl2:

We just returned from the 3.5mile run through Downtown Frankfurt: Anja did 27:50 and I did 26:33. So we both managed to shave off a minute from last year's time   Event though I started the race a bit too quick: I passed the 2km (1.25mile)-mark after 8:12, but I had too slow down a bit then due to 'heavy traffic'. But I guess I couldn't have done that speed for the whole race anyway. Nevertheless it was a full success. There's only one bad consequence: It will be quite tough to run a better time next year ;)

Eric and Mary (and any other Nascar fans out there), here's the site to Chris' photos from last weekend at the Coca-cola 600. :moped:

p.s. I think there's some pics of the american idol finalists in there also. :rockband:

Speaking of concerts, took my teenage son and 3 friends to a rock concert last night. We spent 3 hours waiting in the rain before they opened the doors (general admission), then another 3 hours of loud screaming and base. My ears will never be the same. Luckily, I actually knew most of the tunes since my son plays them in the car all the time. They had a blast, but I told him he owes me :earboy2:

Kim - Thanks for posting your trip report of the first two days. Patiently awaiting remainder of your two week trip. :cool1:

DAN! It's about time you returned from your self-imposed isolation trip to Outer Mongolia!!! I want a trip report ! :rotfl: Missed you honey. Welcome back. Love to Scott too.

......Rosemary, I will give you a quick call before we leave for DC to firm up our meeting plans. Anyone else going?......
Did I give you my number? Guess so. :confused3 Can't Wait! Can't Wait! Can't Wait!! :hyper: (gotta put your sis's # in cell phone - remember rosemary, remember!!)

Yeah! Anyone else wanna meet up with us in D.C.? - last weekend in June for us; Ave going a week earlier and our stays will overlap.

Karoke.... naked?!?! Musta missed that CF initiation rite. :bitelip:

I remember reading not too far back Eric's bright  of CB cruisers going up and singing karoke (I'm not spelling it right, am I?) but I forgot what songs he said we would sing.
This thread is too long to go back over and check out but I remember thinking it was a cute idea.
Refresh my mind please (I scan these posts on the run sometimes and things don't always sink in --
-- but at least I read every posting, NOT LIKE SOME PERSON I KNOW WHO SHALL REMAIN NAMELESS! but lives in Ohio and just returned from Outer Mongolia!!!).

ANYwho, I 'll join a group singing.... or attempting to sing.... (umm, fully dressed that it) but don't blame me when they bring in the big hook!!! Richard will just watch, I'm sure. :cloud9:

Just scanned your pictures real fast Laurarn. Thanks for posting them. I was wondering why the place was so empty at first but I see it filled to capacity later on. Great shots of the cars. Looks like you guys had a fun time.

Ummm.... did your guy win??? (Nascar ignorant).

Just popping over to say hello! :wave2: It's been crazy here!
Thanks for all the congrats! It's a relief that it is over with, with no trouble!
Welcome back to all our cruisers! Thanks for the trip report and I can't wait to read more! :cheer2:
All the photos of the kids are beautiful!! I can't wait to meet them all in person! :earsboy:
Naked Karoake is NOT going to happen for me! They don't call me Mrs Bubba for nothin'! This girl stays DRESSED...but loves to sing even though she can't carry a tune! (A dinner plate, yes. A tune, No. ) :rotfl2:
I have been doing some research to add a "fur kid" to our family. Does anyone know a Goldendoodle breeder by chance? I think that is what we will adopt, but would like to get one from or through someone we know.
Eric, I have not mentioned the Surprise Eggs to the boys, so whenever you can get them to us is fine. Let me know when you want your TTT sent over! I am only happy to do it!
Only 2 more days of school left! The boys are basically "checked out" and are ready for summer to be here! The grades are turned in, so basically, they are going to "daycare" until Tuesday.
If I don't get back on..have a great weekend ya'll! :moped:

Tulirose: Don't worry, I'm actually Nascar ignorant also. :confused3 I just went because we were given the tickets. So, we weren't rooting for anyone in particular. In fact, we left about 2/3rd's into the race to beat the traffic home (apparently 170,000 people there). Went home, showered, watched the finish on tv, then went to bed. Sad, huh? It was lots of fun though.

Eric it will be very easy to beat your time next year. Start the engine in your car, put it in gear and drive :rotfl2:

Rained here today off and on. May was the 3rd driest month on record. Just about an inch or 2.54 cm of rainfall. Notice I sneaked the metric measurement in for our friends that use that oddball system. :rotfl: Back in the 1950's and early 1960's we learned the metric system in school, because everything was going metric real soon. Does anyone still use the system that is in place in the US other than Americans? I know that aircraft and nautical charts are in nautical miles. A lot of the road signs here give both metric and US measurements until the next exits.

Wish they would give out the Mickey hand fans at the sail away party. That would be so cool to wave at the people in Grills and at the park where the two palms camera is located.

Mike

Mike,
as far as I know, you Americans are the only ones still sticking to that outdated crap :teeth: And of course the aviators in the Western World. The Chinese, the Russians, the former Soviet Republics and the former Soviet Allies (i.e. Poland) converted to metric for aviation purposes as well. This is a lot of work for my colleagues and me as we have to convert the metric values into feet, Nautical Miles, Flight Levels, etc for our Western Hemisphere customers - and vice versa for our Eastern Hemisphere customers. But this keeps us busy and means big revenues for us :earboy2:
Lufthansa aircraft which often fly into Russian or Chinese airspace are usually equipped with an additinal altimeter for metric values to facilitate adherance to clearances issued containing metric values. Additionally our charts also have a conversion table showing all important values in both systems to rid the pilots of having to do that mentally.

And NO, I won't use my car for next years race. I simply will train even more, lose some more weigth and thus will be able to break the 25 minute-barrier within the next two years - Hopefully ;)

Rosemary,
the songs I mentioned were 'Yellow Submarine' which fits our needs perfectly, and I also mentioned 'Octopus' Garden'. Both are Beatles, but we could do something else instead of 'Octopus' Garden', i.e. 'That's what friends are for' or to stay with Disney 'You've got a friend in me'.

Michelle,
let's wait with the treats until the temperatures are a bit lower: We're back to 29°C/84°F again over here, which could lead to the chocolate melting while it's in the mail truck :mickeybar

We never force anyone to do the naked karoake......you can choose the bug eating instead! Ya know, those great big Madagascar cockroaches that they use on Survivor......

Oooooooooooooh! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! :earseek: Where should I hang my clothes while I sing??

I think we should just show off scars and stretchmarks.

Really the bug eating isn't that bad. :rotfl:

Fiona

First of all you dont want to see me naked or hear me singing. Believe me....truly believe me...

Second of all where do you put your hands when you're singing?

Arlene

I just had the idea of doing KARAOKE as a group, I never said anything about NUDITY :earseek:
If you really want to do any naked singing, please do it during the Sail-Away-Party: This way the poor people abandoning ship at least have a chance of reaching shore safely :rotfl2:
