Mike - have to laugh about your senators being arrested. We are having an inquiry into government spending on marketing where it seems that piles of cash in envelopes went to the Quebec Liberal party. We are waiting to see what will happen with this one but some bureaucrats have been charged.

Fiona

Fiona your son is at the high water mark in knowledge. With age comes knowledge. You realize just how little you did know as you get older. When he gets to be my age then you start back into your second childhood. You need to start taking naps again and the three year old has more teeth than you do :rotfl2: Makes it easy when you go down the diaper isle (nappies) to our British friends. One pack for the baby and one pack of Depends for the old folks :rotfl2: Mike

We just returned from the Dragonboat Festival: We didn't make it farther than quarter finals, but nevertheless it was fun. And we can be proud of being among the 16 best teams as it was our first participance ever.
We're now thinking about founding a Jeppesen Dragonboat Team and do regular training sessions during summer. We'll see.
After our race we spent some quality time in the sun playing frisbee or just relaxing and chatting. Then we listened to a very funny band: U-Bahnkontrollöre in tiefgefrorenen Frauenkleider. This means 'Subway Conductors in depp-frozen women's clothes' :rotfl: They do very funny coverversions of popular songs of the 80ies and 90ies and interact a lot with the audience.
We developed a nice tan. The ozone layer over Europe right now is about 20% thinner than regular, which makes it kind of dangerous to be exposed to the sun for longer periods. I've white stripes from my sandals on my feet and so does Anja. Although we are pre-tanned from our Thailand-trip and from going to the sunbed in the gym once a week!!

Congratulations Eric and Anja on the good showing. I know that next year your team will be better. Hope that everyone is having a great weekend.

Going to the movies shortly with the family to see Madagascar. Katie wants to see it, even though I would rather see Star Wars. One of the small compromises of having grand children :cool1: Mike

Good news about your ultrasound, Michele! :goodvibes

Congrats on the race Eric! :flower:

:mickeybar Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone! :mickeybar

Folks,
enjoy you day off tomorrow :wave2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

We had three holidays this month, which lead to us having to work 19 days only in May :teeth: In the Souther States of Germany we've got a lot more holidays than the Northerners  , but now we won't have another holiday before 10/03, which is our Reunification Day - And that we'll spend in Boston :earboy2:

Mike,
I guess Madagascar will a blast!! I saw the trailer before Star Wars - First in German, then in English. I'm thinking about seeing Sahara in the next days. I'm a big fan of Clive Cussler's books.

Wait for Madagascar to come out on dvd. Don't waste you money.

So you didn't like it?
BTW, it hasn't started in the theatres yet over here. BUt I will probably wait for the DVD anyway as we don't go the movie very often. I think I haven't been for a year except for Star Wars ;) I usually prefer to wait and get the DVD, there's only some films I HAVE to see on the big screen, i.e. Star Wars.
Five minutes ago I ordered Pocahontas on DVD for €9.97 and both Flintstone movies in a double-pack for 9.95 - and an album by Big & Rich (Save a horse, ride a cowboy) from amazon.de.

I took the boys to see Madagascar yesterday, I thought it was Okay. There are a few really funny parts...like when the penguins get to Antartica or when the HELP sign fell apart. It was actually cheaper for us to see it in the theater then to buy the DVD when it comes out....although they can watch it again on DVD.
Eric, we LOVE Big and Rich! I think we know ALL the words to the entire CD. The boys always tell me to skip #4, but that is Why Does Everyone Want to Kick My A....So I do...and that's Okay. Now I have Ride a Cowboy going through my head and the CD is in the Avalanche....l'll have to change that when he gets home! :rolleyes1
I was looking for things to do in Myrtle Beach since we are going there at the end of June. We have a timeshare there and I was looking to do something DIFFERENT. I think we might go see a Pelicans game on Thursday and go to a concert :rockband: at House of Blues...Foreigner is going to be playing on Friday the 1st of July! I'll have to get that CD out so the boys will know what to expect. They are pretty open to different music since we listen to everything! We are top 20, country, 70s, 80s and 90s. Anyway, if anyone had any suggestions on NEW stuff to do at Myrtle, let me know! :listen:

Michele sorry that I haven't congratulated you on your good results from the doctor.

Eric it was ok, but not a must see again movie.

Mike

Michele,
we stumbled over Big & Rich in our Pump-Class. 'The Pump' is a weight-training-class with music. You use a barbell of up to 70lbs, do lots of push-ups, etc. Each portion of the body gets its own song and is trained for the duration of the song. Every three months there is a new CD and a new choreography as after three months you usually reach a kind of training plateau. 'Save a horse' is our biceps-song in the current choreography. You have a long barbell, grip it with both hands, and curl it for about five minutes. I use about 40 lbs for this and Anja does about 20. Special with this song: All the gents in the class have to sing the line 'I saddle up my horse and ride it to the city', and the ladies do 'Save a horse, ride a cowboy'. Singing helps you ignore the pain, especially near the end of the song ;)

If anyone wants on the fly in the sky list other than the ones that have already indicated that they want to parasail at castaway cay let me know. Mike

We're home!!! We had a great time at Disneyland and a fabulous visit with Peter and Jenn! I can't believe how much we packed into three days! It was strange to see the Magic in California and then to walk away and not get on the ship! Today will be spent doing laundry, getting groceries and rest!

Tracy

Tracy: glad you had a great time in CA....thanks so much for all the work you did to help us feel like we were right there on the repo.
