1 Ride You Would Bring Back/Create

I've always thought that a Monsters Inc. roller coaster would be awesome if it was somehow based off of the scene in the first movie when they are riding the doors on the conveyer belt.

P.S. Thanks OP for the fun and happy thread!

Alien Encounter
And I miss the submarine lagoon area at MK.

all sound good but would also like to see my two favorites when I was a kid: mission to mars dream flight :thumbsup2

I forgot about Dream Flight! Which park was it and can you give a basic description to help my memory?

One ride to bring back? Only one? That's hard. I think it would likely be Horizons because my husband loved it so much and really misses it. I really miss Superstar Television, though, and think it needs to be brought back. I also miss Cranium Command. But I guess I pick Horizons overall. Now if you want to know how I would improve Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and/or Animal Kingdom, all of which includes more than one ride, you just let me know. ;)

Yes! Superstar Television was so fun! And the sound stage show. I also agree with cranium Command!

I thought Disney had tons of land!!! Why get rid of attractions!?? Haha

Could I just get in a time machine and go back to the WDW of the late 80's or early 90's? I would get back all my faves at Epcot (Horizons, original Imagination, World of Motion, Cronkite SSE) and the Skyway at MK (loved taking photos from up there), and the parks would be cheaper and less crowded.

+1.

I want old Epcot. Especially the old illuminations. I loved each country's individual portion with all the different music pieces.

But all my fave rides were the old ones. Horizons, World of Motion, Cranium Command, old Figment, sea base alpha with the movie about the origin of the oceans. And Walter Kronkites narration of SE. Of course if I got my wish to relive my childhood my children would be miserable without TT, Soarin and Mission Space;)

Yes- I would trade it all for old Illuminations!! I was so bummed when I saw "new" Illuminations.

it was in the magic kingdom where buzz is now. originally it was presented by eastern airlines and had the theme song if you had wings. I loved going thru the big earth in the beginning of the ride.if you look at the Omni mover cars you sat in back then, they look a lot like what is still being used today in the space ranger spin. just a new paint job.
and before you ask, I did wear the blue short gym shorts with the long white socks up to my knees with the two big blue strips at the top of them.:lmao:

My idea would be to repurpose Peter Pan as a 'classic storybook' ride. It would be a similar track ride but each room would be like entering a page on a story book and each page/room would be a recreation of a scene from an extinct ride. A Mr Toad scene, Snow White, Peter Pan, maybe have the Car go in the air (like the current PP ride) like you are getting on the old the skyway and fly over a recreation of toon town fair In a room, have the cart go 'underwater' for a 20,000 leagues room.

I think that would be a neat nod back to all of the old rides and give people some nostalgia for their childhood disney visits.

As long as you didn't accidentally pick 1991.

MK 1991 18.0 Million visitors, 2012 17.5 Million
Epcot 1991 14.4 Million Visitors, 2012 11.1 Million
DHS 1991 6.8 Million Visitors, 2012 9.7 Million (and Sunset Blvd didn't open until 1994)

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find attendance figures for the 80's but attendance dropped significantly in 1992.

Getting to the original question, the original Imagination would be what I'd bring back. Most of the MK attractions mentioned are still around in some form at DL.

In the create department, I'd like to see Disney do something like Mystic Manor at Disneyland HK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9PJo4SiQII
Just think if Little Mermaid had used this technology. But, ultimately would like a unique cutting edge dark ride that's not a movie tie-in.

I would bring back everything in the original MGM Studios Echo Lake. Monster Sound Show & Superstar Television are way more interesting than American Idol Live and an empty building. I'd also refurb the Muppet Store to actually carry Muppet merchandise.

Then in Epcot, I would remove Mission: Space and build a new interesting attraction revolving around space travel...maybe a story in which we must move to another planet due to Earth's abundance of pollution/overpopulation. But NOT just a simulator...something a bit more like Spiderman in Universal and Dinosaur in DAK meets Horizons

In DAK, I would halt all production on Avatarland and replace it with a Star Wars themed area - (maybe two or three different planets you could tour, with restaurants and attractions reflecting the different films) (since the Studios doesn't seem to have much space)

And in MK, I would bring back Timekeeper and Alien Encounter, because they were original and amazing and what replaced it was unnecessary, mediocre
and based on already established characters.

alien encounter and time keeper wasn't original to the mk. mission to mars was where alien was from 75 to 93.
time keeper was America the beautiful 360 movie. (I don't recall when that was changed or started. i was a kid at the time and there was no way i was standing for a 360 movie so i don't recall seeing it more then one time):thumbsup2

Mickey's Birthday Land....nah just kidding.

I think it is sad that my children will never get to brave Mr. Toad's Wild Ride

Reading the PP I think he was using original to mean unique and not tied to an existing franchise as opposed to them being the first attraction in that location.
