1 reservation or 2?

We are almost BCV owners. We should finish up this week and get our member number soon.

Of course we want to get into BCV but we understand that because we are traveling in early Dec that we are most likely going to be wait listed.

We are planning a family reunion and my father figures we will need a 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom. I think it will be best if we all get the meal plan.

So here is the question. Do we try to make this all one reservation or can we or should we make this two separate reservations?

What are the pros and cons of this, if this is possible?

I was thinking that food plan wise, it might be better to split it up since that would allow one group to not get the dining plan. But then as the planner of this whole thing, that is going to make planning meals very difficult.

If we split it up we could easily end up in two different resorts, right?

After we get our member number what do I need to actually make these reservation(s)? I think I heard that I need names, ages and addresses of everyone coming. Is that correct?

How possible or difficult is it to add or remove people from a reservation?

Is there anything else a newbie needs to know?

It really doesn't matter-ask for 2 seperate checks, but I think it would be easier for everyone to do the same. But you might be better off with the DDE-if you have an AP

If we split it up we could easily end up in two different resorts, right? No, I don't think so. If you booked studio/stuido/1brm or a stuido/1brm/1brm...I guess there might be a slight chance...they should move together since you will be on the WL at the same time

Yes Names, Ages, and addresses.

Very easy-don't forget to book ME if you need that

You can wait until 48 hours before check in to decide about the meal plan
I would highly recommend a studio/studio/1brm or a studio/1 brdm/1brm...just incase you have to cancel one- or just accept the fact that other might cancel and leave you in a 2brdm/1brm(which might be a good problem).

December is still in the home-resort only booking window. So there's a chance you might find what you want. (At least a better chance than if you try again after the 7-month window opens.)

Consider if you really need two kitchens and laundry facilities. You'd save a considerable number of points if you do a 2-bdrm and a studio instead. You'll still have the kitchen, laundy, and common gathering area in your 2-bdrm villa. The studios are actually quite nice -- like a deluxe hotel room.

If you do decide to have some people on the DDP and some people not on it, you'll want it to be separate reservations. You will not be able to be listed on both reservations, though. The second room will need to be in someone else's name. It will be two separate check-ins, two separate room charging, etc., two separate check-outs and bills.

It doesn't really impact your dining reservations or meal planning to have some on and some not on DDP. The servers can easily accomodate separate forms of payment for a single dining reservation. Of course, those on the plan are apt to want to have more reservations than those who are paying ala-carte.

This actually has nothing to do with the number of reservations you have. Even with a single reservation, if there are nights during your stay that a room is not available, it's possible you would have to change resorts or room types. This is when the wait list comes into play. You can book what's available, and hope something comes through on the wait list. In any case, you'll know during the call if what you want is available or not and exactly what resort and room types they are able to book for you.

You'll need the names of everyone, and the ages of children. If you are booking DME for the ride from the airport, you'll also need the mailing address of anyone who needs to have their luggage tags and ticket mailed to an address that is different than yours. You'll also need your flight information. (If you don't have your flight information yet, you can call back later to add DME to your reservation. Or, you can submit the information via the member web site (which I find to be the easier method).

You also need to have your member number available for any call to Member Services. They won't speak with you until you provide it.
