Wow!! I am gone on vacation and come home to find your trip report is already taking off!! I can't wait to read more!! I understand about changing resorts...I have never stayed at the same resort twice at Disney....However we LOVED the beach club this past trip...it is gonna be hard to change to another!!

I know, right? I will admit that it probably took me longer than a normal parent to make the decision to postpone the trip. It was the whole "Watch Wishes on my actual 40th birthday vs a month later" thing that was the problem. I'm okay with it now.....I think.

We will definitely have to meet up! I'm not sure when the rates come out normally. If I recall, they've been coming out earlier than they used to, though. I think we've decided to stay at Animal Kingdom Villas, so we'll be able to book it at 11 months out with our points. (Of course, I may catch the resort switcher bug and change that at 7 months)

I looked at my reservation confirmation and it looks like we booked our 2013 trip on July 11, 2012. I usually book on the day the rates come out or a day or two later. I hope that they come out soon. I've been running numbers to get an idea what a two week vacation is going to cost us.

I had to go searching for your 6/6 update...found it. I was disappointed you switched from CSR. I bet ya'll would like it.

2 whole weeks! How fun! You better wait a 'lil 'til the boss man forgets about the temp.

LOL, I never noticed that the mods and deluxes have covered bus stops and the values do not. I guess that's because we rarely use the bus. But now that I think of it, that's true.

The Beach Club would have been really nice, but quite honestly since you use the food courts, I think you'd really miss that. I know we did. We stayed at the Beach Club on our very first Disney stay. It was great walking to Epcot. We stayed there our 2nd stay too because we loved the pool so much, Grumpy was a baby. But as he got older and we stayed at the Boardwalk, it was difficult with a picky eater without a food court. So we stuck with the mods and values after THAT trip.

I've already told the boss that next year's trip will be a full two weeks. You know what he said? Get started looking for a good temp right now!

We use the buses all the time and, for some reason, the covered bus stops are a sticking point for us. Weird, I know!

We use the food court several times during a stay and I wondered about the small deluxe food courts.

I was thinking about doing the whole add a day thing but when I looked at the price to add just night changed my mind. We just going to drive in closer and stay the night then get there early in the morning (downfall to holiday weekend travel) Can't wait to see how everything plays out for you.

I can certainly understand that train of thought. Did you look into the DTD resorts? They run some good promos.

Ok great start... Love the switching of resorts...I agree it is so hard to decide when so much is available. We have stayed at POR and loved it but I don't blame u with the bug thing. Ewwww

I have that kind of resort switching in my head for weeks before each trip. But then I book POP due to the money saved. Next stay is definitely CBR though.

I do it each and every year and I'm sure that our 2014 trip will be no different.

YAY! The trip (report) has begun! Oh such choices. A great resort ... or a great resort ... or maybe, a great resort. Glad I don't have those problems. I won't even consider another resort other than Shades of Green. Here is my home away from home ... and I can't wait to go back.

I knew there was some resort changing going on, but I had no idea it involved that many changes.

So glad it all worked out and you made it full circle back to your beloved CBR.

I must have missed the part where you switched from POR to POFQ. I was thinking y'all were spending the first night at POR. We stayed there several years ago and enjoyed it. In fact, we went twice to eat at their "food court" since Old Key West was limited on their quick service options and it was so close by.

I know how you feel about wanting to try other resorts, we're the same way!

Well, initially, it was POR but then changed to FQ. I wish that we had stuck with POR.

I was intrigued just by the title. New to trip reports. Waiting around for the rest!!!

I'm in!! My first thought when I saw the title was "Not another snake in WDW!" The snake in Mousegears in your last TR shattered my illusion of Disney as a snake free zone!

I feel the same way about Pop that you do about CBR. I want to try other places but my heart belongs to Pop.

I'm glad that you got out and changed your resort a little bit, but I just KNEW you would end up back at "Home"!!

I love Pop/AoA though, I want to try POR (bugfree of course!). Corey wants to stay at All Stars Sports on our next trip (Which I have a pretty new ticker for… but no PTR started yet… I'm debating!). I looked at the resort and I know they are about to do an overhaul on the food court. But the whole reason Corey wants to go at Spring Break is for the Braves Spring Training… and Pop/AoA is closer to the ESPN/WWoS. So, we'll see!

You know me well, my friend! My sis-in-law stayed at Sports and they really enjoyed it. They only had a couple of bus issues but, other than that, they liked it.

POR is lovely and was on my list of possible resorts for this year. But it was just a tad over budget and so we finally picked CBR.

I wish that we had stuck with our initial thought and kept the POR ressies over FQ. But, oh well, live and learn.

Joining in! I have read your other reports, but never followed along in real time. I think we will be staying at CBR in Feb!! I am a resort changer too, but I love the look of CBR and I would book a king room and rent a car,so I think we will be all set.

hello mickeystoontown. this is my first post here. i've been reading your trip reports for a while and have enjoyed them all. your family is about as loony as mine. we've been to the "world" about 16 times or so. i've lost count. we took our kids and now we're taking the grandkids. gotta keep that disney tradition going. anyways looking forward to the latest antics of the mcbride family.
