1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

This shot looks like it could make a very odd cuckoo clock or something like that.

Wouldn't that be a sight to see! :lmao:

Nice you ran into family.

Glad Hunter had the muscles to protect. :lmao:

Hunter's muscle must have been what kept the trolls away!;)

I didn't ride the Mexico or Norway rides on my last trip. If I take DGD on my October trip we'll need to ride them.
Did Lacey say if those shoes were comfortable? I've heard that they are but they don't look like they are.

Lacey does like the shoes but, then, she walks around barefooted all the dang time. I don't think that I'd like something around my toes all the time.

I have seen the tomb warriors during prior trips, but I want to comment on this.

One of the programs we teach at the 300 year old farm house where I work is a program on archeology. We have a practice pit where students dig for artifacts that was set up by archeologists from Boston University. They left us tools that they use in actual digs, and they are dustpans, trowels, buckets, paintbrushes, sifters, just like in these pictures!!!

Did you find the one smiling figure in the group?

.

Loved reading about TT. DD and me skipped it during our mother daughter trip. I think my DH will love designing his car.
I don’t know much about Electric Umbrella. Do they have self serve drink station? It looks like a place we would skip. What do you normal get that is good there. Sorry, like I said I don’t know much about it due to nor hearing to many reviews.
I think it is nice that you share your designs. You don’t have to worry about me. I would gladly pay you to make me a bag before making one myself.
Wow I never knew about Tomb Warriors. I will have to look for it next year!!
Can’t wait to read more. I love reading about your trips. You have such a fun family!

Okay...only two updates behind on you (I hope my internet doesn't go out for a long time again...I got way too far behind).

Fun that you ran into your cousins a couple of times.

Love Hunter's muscle picture.

And Lacey is still wearing those ugly shoes? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

The last couple of times we've done Maelstrom, they've not had the movie going. But when they do, we usually stop because we feel bad for the CM's in there.

I can't believe in all of your trips that you've never seen the Tomb Warriors. Mark insists we stop almost every trip. It is a very nice exhibit.

I've never seen them either. I do have to go look and find them. We really shortchanged a lot of World Showcase.

It's kind of tough to keep kids interested in World Showcase sometimes. I remember back before they had the Kidcot Stops. :faint:

Lisa,

You have now added a second reason for me to want to go to Epcot. Wow! Sword buying, my oldest daughter bought herself a pirate sword. She is going to hang it on her Pirate/Haunted bedroom.:rolleyes1

Hunter has a lot of swords and daggers from Epcot. Just a tip, the ones in China are a lot cheaper than those in Japan and United Kingdom. The shipping is a bit high but we figured it's a souvenir and collectible all rolled into one.

I can't believe you hadn't seen that yet...in all of your trips! We happened upon it our first trip and I was just amazed! Such a great exhibit! I know what you mean though...there is so much at WDW that we keep seeing things we have never seen. And especially in World Showcase!

(BTW...I love Southern sayings...like Fixin' too...my favorite that makes me sound like a hick!! :lmao:)

I can't believe that it took us that long to find them either. I'm going to make sure that we go back in there and look around some more next trip.

My boss just picked on me the other day for saying "I'm fixin' too!".

There are so many little things back in the corners of the countries. If you don't really take the time to explore each one, you miss a lot.

It sure is easy to miss something, that's for sure! We learned that many trips ago.

A couple of years ago at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) they had a display of the terracotta worriers here, the odd thing is liked how they were displayed in WDW better even the ROM had the real things. One of the best exhibits I've see that was traveling was when the Art Gallery of Ontario had the treasures of King Tut.

Oh my gosh! I bet that was wonderful to see in person!

I've only seen the Tomb Warriors once. I think it was because I was on a trip by myself so I felt like I could take as much time as I wanted to to just look around and absorb. :goodvibes
I'm going to make it a point to go back in and look around more when we are there in May.

Well, I was very far behind again! I love those terra cotta warriors. I have stopped in there twice, and they are very interesting for sure!

Hey Stephanie! Long time no see! ;) All of us really enjoyed looking at the exhibit and we intend to go back and look at them more in May.

Oh I love seeing the Terra Cotta Warriors. They're pretty cool and yes, just a little creepy. But mostly just really cool. :thumbsup2

Some of them do have some conniving looking faces, don't they?::yes::

Wow, Hunter's muscles! Watch out for that boy!

I can't believe that woman took a picture of your bag. Maybe she didn't realize you made them AND sold them?

I can't believe Lacey can wear those foot shoes. They always look so uncomfortable to me.

Cool Terra Cotta warriors. We definitely have to see those next time we go. Great updates!

That Hunter is one pumped up dude!

I don't think that the lady was up to no good (as in stealing the design to sell) by taking a picture of my bag but it did throw me for a loop for a minute or two.

Lacey and those stupid gorilla feet shoes! I hate them!

The Terra Cotta warriors were neat to see. Definitely work in some time to see them.

Just saw them yesterday at Epcot

You lucky person you! I wish that I were in Disney yesterday.

Dee, you have the coolest job evah! Every time you talk about one of the programs, I get excited. All I get to do all day is talk about child custody, divorces and who isn't doing what the Judge ordered. :crazy2:

Wait! There's a smiling warrior? I'll be sure to look for him next trip.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

There are self serve drink stations at the Electric Umbrella. The food is the usual theme park fare but it's always been good and hot. The mushroom and swiss burger was good as was the flatbread.

I think it is nice that you share your designs. You don’t have to worry about me. I would gladly pay you to make me a bag before making one myself.

I am sure that the lady didn't think anything about asking but it was a little offputting to me.

Wow I never knew about Tomb Warriors. I will have to look for it next year!!

Be sure to go in and look at the Tomb Warriors. It's a very interesting exhibit!

Yes, Kathy, unfortunately, she still wears those gosh awful shoes! I can't stand them but she says they are comfortable and it's the next best thing to be barefooted. :confused3

Nope, hadn't see the warriors until this past trip. I can't believe that we had skipped over them so many times.

Just standing here watching the world float by!

We drug ourselves away from the tomb warrior exhibit and back out into the hot Florida sun so that we could continue our journey around World Showcase. We hadn’t walked far before we were stopped by a semi-unusual site. The bridge was being raised to allow the Illuminations globe and barges to be put into place.

We found a fairly shaded spot to the right of the bridge and we had a great view of World Showcase:

Soon, we were just standing there watching the world float by!

As were a whole lot of other people:

As soon as the last barge made it under the bridge, we left our shady spot and positioned ourselves near the front of the barrier so we could cross as soon as the castmembers gave us the go-ahead. ;) It’s a good thing that we did so because there was a big human traffic jam that soon gathered behind us:

Yikes! :crazy2:

Once we were told it was okay, we crossed the bridge and continued on through World Showcase. I am sure that we wandered around and country shopped but the next set of pictures that I have show us in the good ol’ United State of America. Apparently, John was ready for a nap because he put up no resistance when it was suggested that we see the show there. :rotfl:

Going up:

We found seats near the back of the theater and waited for the show to began. I kid you not when I say that John was asleep in less than a minute. :rolleyes2 I think that we were all pretty worn out from the trip by this time and I’ll admit that it was a little hard to keep my own eyelids open. :p I attempted to take some non-flash pictures and these are the only two that turned out halfway decent:

I started nudging John a minute or so before it was over so that he would have time to wipe the sleep from his eyes. And, then, we were off again!

**Up next: Pop that baby open and let’s see what treasure it holds!

That's neat you saw the drawbridge up and got to see them transporting the floats/barges.

I love the american Adventure show but I'll admit to dozing a bit in there myself on our last trip.

So is that drawbridge opening another first for you on this trip?

Pretty cool pictures of the world going by!

I envy John being able to fall asleep like that! I am not a good sleeper under the best of circumstances, I can't sleep in public places like shows, buses, airplanes, ...

The two pictures that came out in the American Adventure are excellent!

Hanging my head in shame as I confess... the American Adventure is our go-to place for napping. ::yes:: We don't really go there because we love the show. We go because we know it is dark, cool, and has extra cushioned seats. :rotfl:

I've only gotten stopped by the bridge being up for the floats once, but it is interesting to watch. But definitely causes back-ups waiting, so it's great you got a good position near the front once it was lowered!

John is definitely not alone in his sleeping thru AA! When I went in September the theater wasn't even half full and I saw at least a dozen people sleeping around me.

We have yet to time it right to see that bridge go up for the Illimunations barge, etc.

John asleep in less than a minute! What a surprise. ;) I usually take a short little nap in there myself as well. Mark stays wide awake for the entire show.

Lisa, it was very funny that this is your post today!! I just put up a post from our EMH evening at Epcot with the bridge up today as well. Had never been there when this happened and now it happened to both of us!! :thumbsup2

I don't blame John for falling asleep. It is difficult to keep your eyes open in there where it is cool and dark. ;) But I did like the history behind it.

I've been reading along with your fabulous trip report! You have a wonderful family - Hunter reminds me so much of my 16 year old son, and your mama is a doll. Wish I could get my parents to come to Disney with us! I lived in North Carolina for 6 years during my childhood, and I love reading all of your "southernisms". Thanks so much for sharing with all of us.

The Warriors are so great to see. We do it every other trip and always see something new. I cannot believe you had not seen them before.
I love seeing the barges come out.
The American Adventure is nice to do.
Great updates and pics.

aaack I have been making my way through your TR since January 1. such a slacker! but I fear that my thoughts and my quotes will be soon be lost if I don't post my reply!

I hope that you are having a blast right now -- I think that you are in New Orleans surprising Mama after her cruise, right? Have fun!!

Your TR is so much fun!

hmm catching up her.e

T Rex -- your food does look good. I see you have a meat & potatoes kind of family --steak & potatoes for the guys, seafood & potatoes for the ladies. they all look good. but I totally cringed when you said you were in the ice room at T Rex. I so did NOT have a good experience there. will not be going back. ever. but I do like the Rainforest Café. same style but different. no crashing meteors, dinosaurs roaring, flashing red lights. :confused3

great job on the room discounts for May! We are going at the end of June, so my sister (CANT WAIT TO SEE HER!) won't be able to get the discount. bummer.

and without going back I think you are at Caribbean Beach, right? so pretty!!! Great photos on your tour. And I am laughing because you are like me in that everyone else is having nap/rest/down time and you are still "on" even though "on" means leisurely taking a photo tour of the resort -- its still walking and being on your feet! LOL we just can't stop!!!

Cirque is on our list of things to do.I took your tip and just signed up for the free member club. It would be great to score a coupon to see a show there!

Does the resort have it's own Loch Ness Monster? Nah, it's just a turtle:

LOVE the Loch Ness turtle!!!
are my posts random enough? LOL

HOW COOL to see one of your bags in the park! that is so awesome! pixiedust:

HOLY COW that is a crazy bag check line!

I do manage to get one or two days of bag less park entrances now, but only when I know we will be returning to the resort within a few short hours.

I loved natebenna's tips for getting through the nonbag line. I will have to try that one.

why did you take your ebay link off of your signature? I went to click in real quick and it was gone! now I will have to actually look for it. haha

I know what you mean about the animals in Mexico. ouch! but I think I may get a small one for Katie when we go without her ....in 6 days... they are so cute and she can watch the lady paint them for so long. she is just fascinated.

reading on....
