1/6/2007 Early Roll Call...Anyone Else Going???

We own a wine store and our busiest time is right before the cruise during the holidays (slow time is January and February).... This will definitely be a needed vacation (but unfortunately it will be over too quickly).

I can't believe it's the end of the year already..... Ugh!!!!

My family owns liquor & wine stores too!! How fun this will be as much needed trip after the holidays!! :cool1: My family and I are going to go see Disney on Ice Wednesday (just a little teaser for what is coming!).h

What do you find depressing? Our non responding group? The weather (it's been raining for days out here... :umbrella: )? Having to wait more than a month before our cruise?

We should keep focus on the good things! :thumbsup2
Yes, it was depressing to see that no one was posting on this thread... but I'm happy now that there has been some movement on here.

I've already started adding money $$$ to our stateroom account, that way when we are on the cruise we have money to pay for our excursions, tips, and for things we might want to buy and not have to put it on credit. It will feel so good to walk away from this cruise owing nothing.

That's a good idea NYAna! :thumbsup2 I never tought about that!

How can you put money on your stateroom account? Interesting!! That would be nice to have some money paid down!! Thanks for the tip! Has anyone already been on this cruise? I was interested in the packing they say its casuak but for dinner no shorts so for our DS (7) jeans and polo and our DD (3) Summer dresses? Thanks for the tips! Also someone wrote I think on this link they were headed to the Space Center before flying out? How are you getting there?
Thanks M

Hi NYAna & everyone else!

I've been on the list for months, but I haven't added a lot to this post. Sorry! I get so wound up in our day to day that I ask what I need to get advice on, and GO again!

Myself, DH, and DS's (13 & 14) will be joining all of you. My younger son had an accident on Oct. 13th and is still on crutches. We're hoping he'll be walking without them on our trip......think happy thoughts! Either way, we are all soooo looking forward to our trip!

I've been putting $$$ down on our shipboard account, too. I can't wait to try the martini taster thing, and the mochachino's, and some more tasty drinks! I'm not a drinker, but it sure is sounding good right now!

7 weeks from today! Yippee! :woohoo:

It's easy. Just call Disney with your reservation number and tell them you want to add money to your stateroom account.

Hi tinkerbellmom1,

Ooooooh, what are you talking about? Martini taster thing and mochashino's? I too am not a drinker but I agree with you that it's sounding really really good just about now. I can't wait for this trip.

Oh, and you've been adding money to your account too? That's great. I'm already loving it that I will walk away debt free from this cruise (well I hope - this might change if I go overboard with things I buy on the cruise :rolleyes1 )

Hi Brothersister,
We are going to KSC right from the cruise. We rented a car and will drive right from the port to Cape Canaveral (KSC). It shouldn't be too difficult to get to the airport from KSC (about 1 hour I think). Budget and Avis have shuttles that come to the port and take you to their office in town, other ones may too--double check when you call to book. I got my info from looking on other boards....I hope it works out.

Do you work in the wine store? My husband is at our store 7 days a week...

Let me know how Disney on Ice goes... my daughter just started ice skating and I am sure she would love it.....

Hi Ana!

The Martini Flyer I think it's called is available at 1 of the Bars on board. For $15.00 you get 5 mini martinis-all in different flavors. They also do a beer one, too. I'll go back and find which bar. It was on a great trip report I read!
My wonderful, teenage boys are giving me fits! Between them and my hubby who is always gone traveling or hunting, for some reason, alcohol is calling my name! ;)

The mochachino's are at the Cove Cafe. I think they are frozen, slurpee type coffee drinks-whip cream and all. Even if they are hot drinks, I'm in! I'm a coffee girl! All day, every day! P.S. I just saw on a post that there is a Cove Cafe Card. If you ask, the barista at the Cove Cafe will give you a card that is buy 4 get 1 free! Take the freebie whenever you can get it!

Yes, I have been prepaying on my cruise for months! I just called DCL and went to the live rep and had them put "gifts" on our stateboard account. Last year when we went I did this as well. I sent gifts to our boys from our dogs. DCL even put little cards in the stateroom telling the boys about their present!

I'm so proud of you finishing your nursing semester! Keep it up! :thumbsup2 I graduated 2 years ago with my degree in Elementary Ed! :teacher:

Okay.......the martini flight is available (or at least was in September) in Diversions. The five flavors were regular martini, pineapple, green apple, raspberry and coffee! They also had beer and tequila flights.

WooooHoooooo! :woohoo:

hi all!
i too am headed for our busy season being the bar manager and party planner for the restaurant.

i am currently reworking our wine list, repricing our liqour list and redesigning those along with the beverage menu to look cohesive in the presentation books. i also usually put out a specialty drink list for the holidays with holiday flavors, cranberry, cookies, egg nog martini, etc. being in a town with 2 colleges we are also very busy on graduation day which is the weekend before christmas, along with booking all the christmas parties. we are one of the only restaurants in town with private rooms available.

i find it all very fun though and hopefully will get some overtime on those paychecks right before the cruise.

we got two disney gift cards so far at the shower, can i apply those to our account ahead of time, or give them to customer service when we get on board.

anyone truly prapared for the next few weeks to fly by????

i miss capt jack.....

I too miss Captain Jack. Too bad he won't be traveling with us.

Wow, you will be a busy bee up until the cruise. The cruise will be a much needed honeymoon/vacation for the both of you.

I think you should call Disney and explain to them that you received two gifts cards. Ask them what you should do.

I've been adding money to my stateroom account and it's really easy to do.

On another note, I have to go to the post office today to return my husbands Jack Sparrow Costume. It's too big on him. I am gonna get a smaller one. I still have to buy my costume. We are all getting dressed up. I think it will be lots of fun and a ton of laughs.

Who else here will be dressing up?

Anyone else here also made a magnetic door sign?

We asked for Disney gift cards for Christmas. :santa: You can use them in the shops onboard or to pay your account at the end of the cruise, you don't have to worry about those ahead of time. In fact you can pay almost anything Disney with those. More info here.

I think we'll be dressing up for pirate night, if I ever get my act together and get some costumes. I just got done with 3 weeks of tests, papers, and presentations at school, so I'm going to try to find some before finals and the holidays. Counting down the days now!!!

Hi Ana,

I'm not quite sure how to post a link, but here is what I have:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219471&referrerid=&highlight=Geeks+on+a+boat

The trip report is titled "Geeks on a boat" and I am thrilled to suggest it! Erica is a gifted writer who made me laugh out loud :rotfl: one minute and get all sappy the next. I loved it!

I'm gearing up for the next 6 weeks and how it is going to fly by! 41 days until we leave, 46 until the cruise (my students and I count down for my vacation!). :woohoo:

I'm not sure that we'll totally dress up for Pirate Night. Last time my boys and hubby did the semi-pirate look: pirate: tropical shirts, pirate headgear, earings, eye patch and that's about it. I just have to find out who to bribe (or tip) to make sure that my hubby is pulled up on stage to dance or swab the deck! I would pay BIG bucks for that! :stir:

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

Hi everyone!

I'm in Montreal for work, but there is a computer in the hotel lobby where I'm staying so I tought I'd say hi!

I'll be back in Quebec City tomorrow.
