1/3/09 Magic - First Time To St. Croix

Brack, when you took the train tour, did they give you the special train pin? They weren't giving it yet when we took the tour, we each got a "silver" RR spike. Our friend took it a year after us and got the special pin. We did it on a very, very cold December morning, after the tour I bought us hats, scarves and gloves.

Sorry its been awhile I lost my job also CONGRATS Patrick on the new one. Ive been doing temp jobs and a thousand interviews it seams but when you live in the middle of a field the options are few and far between But I am definately still cruising its all paid for anyways just will have to sneek in my cuervo LOL:cool1: I am interested in the shirts as well as the fe exchange. I will keep checking back when I get the chance cant wait to meet all of you. By the way Judy Lewiston is on the border of Idaho in Cache Valley. FYI it snowed again yesterday boy do I need some sunshine:cool2:

Brack, I always enjoy your pictures. Have fun this weekend. How is Disdog JoJo?

Thanks. :goodvibes

JoJo is doing good for a 16yo Poodle. He just saw his doctor. His liver and heart are a bit enlarged and he had a little fluid on his lungs. The doctor gave some medicine for the fluid (lasic?) and will give him something else on Monday. He sleeps alot now but is sill very loving.

Brack,
You and my husband are going to have LOTS to talk about! ;) What you are doing this weekend, is what he does about 10 weekends a year for youth retreats. Hope you have a great weekend!

I also average 10 weekends for this but not just for youth retreats.

We got a pin on a nice background. I'm going to mount mine with other special tour pins I have.

Hi all,
It has been a while since I posted.I just wanted to check in and see whats new with everyone.

We spent a long weekend in AKL it was the best medicine for a long hard(record breaking snow fall) winter. I love the the lodge with all the animals roaming around outside your window. I am not so sure we can wait till the cruise for another Disney get away.

Cheers,
Michael

Just giving a shout out to my fellow cruisers. I'll be on the Magic with you  The dancing banana has always been my favorite smiley.

Give JoJo a snuggle hug from me. I miss my poodle.

Hi,

I just found this site today! It sounds like you've all cruised a bit! This will be our families first disney cruise. We have been to DW many times since our honeymoon, but can not wait to cruise on the Magic!

I have read most of the post, but haven't seen a lot of kids listed yet. We have 3 boys who will be 12,11 and 8 - we waited to go when they would all bein the oceaneer club together. Are there many more kids in their age range on this board?

Also, are the t-shirts and the gift exchange for a reunion or group, or are they for anyone on this board?

It seems so far away, but yet I am soooo excited!! The boys just want to be sure there are other kds their age on board and so do we.

We will be driving from the Cleveland area and I could leave tomorrow!

:dance3:

Matilda,

Our first family Disney cruise was November 2006. Since then my hubby and I have snuck away for a 3 nighter and now we are doing this one for a family 7 nighter.

We DEFINITELY love the family time (no... have you picked up your room, done the dishes, taken out the trash, done your homework, helped your little brother like I asked???) Our kids were much the same ages and got to see us in a new light.

I will say with all the best laid plans... you may have one that loves oceaneers and one that loves the pool, and one that wants to stay in the room order room service and watch disney movies. You never know.

I am glad you are coming with all of us on your cruise. I loved reading the Passporter guide to Disney Cruising... check out a less expensive version on Amazon... I know have the leather refillable version... but it helped me prepare a lot... as have Dis Boards... but every family has their own experience.

Reading trip reports helps too... it is sooo magical when they announce your families name. The service is very personalized. I think the food is not as good as other cruise lines necessarily but the fast food is totally awesome! Soft serve yogurt keeps the kids happy and mom too.

It will be an unforgettable vacation unlike any Disney World trip you have ever taken I do believe. We will choose this over Disney World anytime... more character time, and more time to relax and be on vacation and still do something every now and then.

Our 7 nighter was the Western... and with 4 ports in 7 nights I had something planned for us at every port.. so the kids are glad we have 2 official ports and Castaway Cay... so relaxing family time for all of us... get yoru ping pong skills up... lots of fun there.. and prizes to win at Bingo.

Anyway, you chose the PERFECT cruise... dress warmer the first night then bathing suits and cover ups is all we wear in the daylight hours :)_:scared1:

Congrats ~ Kathi Clower

OK, so I know I'm anal retentive, and I'm OK with that ;)
Did we decide that I was taking care of shirts (which is fine) or that somebody else was (which is also fine). I just can't remember. I know we've got time, but it's that anal retentive thing!

What color do we want? Plain boring white? DisBoard green??? :thumbsup2
Did we want just a lapel design? People's names? "Cruise title" and/or theme? Somebody help me out here...I'm too impatient to wade back through all the pages of posts :upsidedow

As mentioned previously, my friend who has the embroidery shop did order the DCL patterns off of Ebay, so we could have something fairly custom.

OK...gotta toddle off to work now...time to take out some aggression on a poor defenseless punching bag!!! :yay:

I will wade through them and see what our ideas were ... we can see what people want to spend on a shirt whether we do a full shirt or just a mickey head with the the date and DCL Magic... St. Croix and I can't remember but several people had opinions when we talked about it... WHAT DOES EVERYONE THING ABOUT A SHIRT?

COLOR???? not white please!

DESIGN EMBROIDERED... smaller is less expensive... or silkscreened which won't last as long. Probably about $10.00/shirt I think we decided with a small left check embroidery of our trip. Is that right????

The best price comes from those of us anal retentive enough to think of it before the last minute men do .... hehehe!

I suggest baby blue for the color of our shirts. I think everyone looks good in baby blue. Light colors are cooler in the sun than dark colors. But if the group decides on something else, it's fine with me.

Any decisions on a cruise name? Logo? T-shirts? Golf Shirts? :confused3
Ship? Pirates? Saints? Mickey & Minnie? Pluto? The whole gang?
(guess you can tell I am bored at work today)
I wish I was going through the canal today. :sad1:

Where is everyone?
I'm leaving work soon, we have to go to a wake for our co-worker who was found slumped in his car earlier this week. He was only 47 years old.
Have a good weekend all!

I'm at home and Annette's in NC.

I love Baby (Carolina) Blue. :thumbsup2

baby blue you say...what about tweaking it just a bit, and doing the Caribbean blue like the water in Brack's ticker??? (the bonus being that it would match my toenails :rotfl: )
