1/3/09 Magic - First Time To St. Croix

We leave tomorrow driving to Atlanta. Our first stop is Annette's Mom in NC and then in Atlanta Thursday afternoon. We have a big shindig in Atlanta until Sunday noon then ......


We're going to Disney World! It's only for 5 days but we are staying at the AKV in a Savannah View room. I know it'll be hot and crowded but it's Disney World .... who cares?

Since work's been a little slow I've been coming up with some idea's

1. 1st cruise to St. Croix for DCL
2. New President



idea #1: St. Croix Red Carpet Cruise 2009(as in movie premier)

idea #2: DCL Inauguration St. Croix Cruise (Hail to the mouse in paradise)

What yall think?

OK...that picture could be silk screened, but would be severely cost prohibitive to embroider...there's the set up fee (which goes to the digitizer to make it work in the machines) and you pay per stitch...that looks like it would be at least 20,000 stitches. If that's the picture we want (and that's fine...I like it with a different title at the top) it will just be heat press, which is fine too. I'm just the go between

I will go with the flow for shirts. I wish we could come up with a logo and title for our cruise, we need someone creative. Where is everyone? This thread needs more activity.

Hi Brack, I'm glad you had a good time. I love the picture of you and Annette with the castle in the background. I don't know when we will go to WDW again (hopefully next year). We are going to Disneyland in November. We haven't been to DL in ten years! I saw your picture with Darth on the other thread, I'm sure it was worth the wait.

We had a good time even though it was hot/humid. This trip we got up early each day to make it for the early hours. We left around 1PM for awhile. A couple of nights we didn't go back to a park at all. It was a very relaxing time.

The wait was worth it. Darth has bladder problems though! He left three times before I could get that photo with him.

Hello my fellow Disboards and cruisers on the Inaugural St. Croix cruise.

I like that logo.... if we use the one in post #271 then it is a screenprint. If we think of a way to make that logo work in a embroidered AFFORDABLE way then we have a shirt that lasts longer.

That said I will go with the flow... too many decisions lately makes me say this.

Here is the update just so you all will know.....

May 11 our house burned to the ground... it happened fast... my hubby was life flighted to the hospital and was later released with a clean bill of health (he has bad heart problems and we live each day as it is our last with each other).

May 11 was the Saturday nite before Mother's Day.

May 26 my husband gets sick very quickly and dies from an overwhelming infection within 14 hours. I am an ICU nurse... and I have never seen anything this fast... but I guess his heart couldn't take it.

Although I miss my best friend so much, I know he is in a better place and in no more pain. We have 3 kids, 17, 13, and 9. The 17 year old is finishing his senior year in the town where our home was... he has lots of friends... is staying with one couple we are paying and must report or will be deported to live here with us... here is about 60 miles away in a town southeast of Nashville... Murfreesboro, TN and has great schools and nice homes. We are thinking retirement income boost here.

So that leaves the 13 and 9 year old (boy and girl) and me in a 3 bedroom apartment looking for a place to live. Soon after my husbands death I had a strong belief that I must invite my brother and sister in law and their 3 kids aged 6, 4, and 1 by cruise time... .what a blast for my kids at 9 and 13 to enjoy watching them love their first Disney cruise and getting pics together with the characters and checking out the yummy pizza and soft serve ice cream.

Also, I have a son than is 23 from a previous relationship and he is going to join us in my husbands place....

My husband and I planned this cruise specifically when we were on a cruise last January and LOVED IT and the PriCES too!

I am sure everyone here knows... but just in case... plan (if you can) to have downpayment money enough for all that would want to cruise the next time on any Disney ship... pay down on the cruise and get a STEAL of a price... I transferred my ressie then to a TA who matched the onboard credit so drinks are a waitin for this chick!

Funny, we never or rarely drink at home or when out ot eat but get us on a cruise and we become fish. Playing, no schedule, no laundry, no phone.... internet only if you love it enough to pay for it... and the ocean... ahhhh

So we need to decide... who said they could embroider shirts or had a friend that could? Can you work up a design or would someone else like to... I can submit an idea if one isn't done the next time I get a chance to check the boards but life has been soooo crazzy with the house then my precious hubby that I am just now posting.... yes, I admit I did lurk a bit right before the house fire but just watched everyone "bump along".

Maybe we can fire this thread up and get some ideas flowing... as my daughter reminded me it is 6 1/2 months til sailing! Collecting money, sizes for shirts and such will also take time.

Please keep up in our prayers and I hope to visit again soon!

Kathi Clower... I should have cabin numbers soon as well... I will talk to my SIL and see if she and her kids wanna do something in the trade deal we are doing as Disboarders... if so I will let her know she needs to make a screen name and come say hi!

Thanks for keeping us in your prayers... sorry to drop that bomb but it is GREAT that I am turning my only brother (and only sibling) onto Disney cruising... wish my parents were going too.... but it is all good

Strong is not only what I have to be (for my kids) but for me too.... we still have crying days but we are staying focused on the future and the fact that our Daddy is in heaven asking all the questions we want to ask... we are hoping he forgets a few so we have something to ask

I just wanted everyone to know what was going on... more support the better... and my hubby was THE CENTER of my life... he was my best friend and loved me even when I was unlovable... and made me all I am today... with his strength I am doing what is necessary....

AND CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR OUR FAMILY NAME ANNOUNCED... FOLLOWED BY MY BROTHERS FAMILY!
