Hi,

First time on a discussion forum, so excuse the mistakes!! This will be our first Disney Cruise and we have an eleven year old girl and a fourteen year old boy. It would be great if they could know some kids before we get there. Also, any suggestions on best excursions to take or any other "can't miss!" tips would be welcomed!

We will be on the 1-20-07 eastern and can't wait. I have book the excursions, but having second thoughts on St. John's...wondering if we should do it on our own. Sailing is myself, DH, DS -9 , DS -7 , DD-5. Can't wait to go.

Hi Katie1....We are cruising with a DD who is 5 turning six while we are away on the cruise. Perhaps they might be a good match. I think it would be pretty cool for kids to make friends. This board is definately a great opportunity to pre-meet some fellow cruisers. Are you planning on your kids going to the clubs at all? This will be our first disney cruise and first cruise with kids. Where are you coming from and what deck will your family be on? Looking forward to chatting. Michelle

HI Tinkified....we are from Michigan. This will be our first and probably only Disney cruise....don't know if we could swing another. We will be on deck 8...I believe. Yes our kids will be in the clubs. They have already asked if they could stay all day. I don't think they will want to stay all day once they are there, but they do want to go. How about you? Have you booked any excursions? I do love this board. I have learned a lot. Kathy

Hi all, family of 4, DH, myself, DS12, DD11, anyone with children around the same age.....give us a shout!! Maybe we can have the kiddies get to know each other before hand. Can't wait for St. Thomas/John, we booked The Day Sail Fantasy for a private excursion between both islands. So excited to do this. I am still looking for some advice for St. Maarten. If anyone has any....please share.

Hi Everyone,
My name is Cindyand I am new to the boards. We will be on the 1/20/07 cruise. We are on Deck 6. It is myself, my husband, our 2 boys (5 years old and 2 years old). Also, my mom and hubby's mom as well as our neighbors and their 2 kids (girl age 7 and boy age 5). This is our first cruise and we are SOOOOOO excited!

Katie---we have boys the same ages. I have three sons ages 10, 8 & 6. This will be our third cruise and my kids LOVE the clubs. Our problem is getting them out!! We got all the spa/Palo ressies we wanted and are anxiously counting down...

Since you have been on 9, do you have any good ideas for pirate costumes that are cheap and simple? I have gotten eye patches and an earring for each of my kids and I know they give you a bandana. I couldn't find anything after halloween so was thinking of making something....but don't want to spend a lot of money on it either. Thanks for any ideas.....we are all very excited!!!

An idea for a costume...go to WalMart or a store like that and buy a white blouse in the woman's dept that has ruffles in the front...you can get a small for kids and them buy some red or black fabric and cut it along the length to make a sash. (Any pants will do) With an eye patch, bandana and toy sword they'll be great pirates. I know that WalMart also had some bandanas with skull and cross bones on them. Hope this idea helps.

Take a pair of pants and cut them off jagged on the bottom...like knee length? An extra large bandana for a waist sash. The patches are always good, and the earrings. Depending on the age of your children, they sell pirate costumes on ship. My kids were too old for them, but I seem to remember they were fairly expensive. Hope that helps.

It truly is beautiful to watch the fireworks light up the sky in the middle of the ocean!
