I feel terrible, I do NOT count and I have always said I never will, If dd doesn't do as she is asked ...there is no second chance, its discipline time....no counting in this house, If I ask something I need it then not 5 secs from now. I hope that doesn't make me sound terrrible but that was something dh and I agreed on when dd was old enough to understand discipline.I guess you could call it strict but I just call it respectful.

I don't count often, but when I do DS knows I mean business. I am a count to 3 mom also.

Don't feel bad snowwhitemom, my wife and I made the same decision and we have never counted to our 4 year old or 2 year old.

However, I will admit that we have repeated ourselves a time or two

For the most part though, they respond on the first request or reprimand.

Counting to 10 when you are angry before you say anything is still a good idea though! (Wish I did it)

I am a count to three Mom...but ya gotta have a face like this When the face turns to this , well I've lost them! Seriously, I rarely get to three. When I count, they know I mean business! LOL! WHERE did this start? Is it in some mommy/daddy manual somewhere?

LOL! Poor EROS and Ratsrule will never get to know about my Frenching abilities firsthand. My phone number is unlisted for them to hear me count in French.
