No one else has mentioned, that the person who plays the character of Jax on General Hospital was also included in the tv episode taping of "According To Jim" on the 1-17 cruise. I was on deck 10 heading to an activity, and stopped to watch the Jim taping on deck 9. As I watched I thought that the actor Jim was "meeting and talking" to looked like the actor who plays the part of Jasper Jax on General Hospital. I had to move on and wasn't positive. That night my son said the counselors in the stack were excited because someone from General Hospital was also on the ship and they didn't know he was coming.

Then last night, we watched the video tape of our cruise. Everyone took some of the video and there was a close up of "Jax" doing that scene.

Don't know how he was worked into the storyline...as just a person on the ship or as his GH character.

I never saw him during the rest of the cruise. Anyone else see this part of the Jim taping or the GH actor later during the cruise? The rest of the Jim characters were easy to keep running into.

There was a mention of this in this week's Soap Opera Digest. He is playing an actor who is shooting a commercial--he sounded fuzzy on the details. I agree, he would be worth the price of admission!

We were on the 1/17 cruise during the shooting and from what I got from some production staff was that the storyline was about Jim and his family are hired to do a commercial aboard the Disney Magic, Jim gets a little crazy and knocks Goofy off the stage during the sail away party and gets fired from the commercial and is replaced by Ingo as the dad in the commercial. Just by luck we were standing right behind Goofy and Jim Belushi during the taping of the sequence when Jim knocks Goofy off the stage.(He did it about 5 times in a row)We should be in the shot, My DH is wearing a yellow polo and my DD is on his left. Can't wait to see if they made the shot.(mostly I hope he's not doing anything foolish, like scratching or digging)

Our servers on the 1/24 cruise, Emmanuel and Zita, were also Jim and Courtney's servers. While they wouldn't say anything bad about anyone...I gathered that Jim was a great, fun-loving guy, but Courtney was a bit high maintenance. The one thing I learned is that Jim likes egg whites w/ zucchini and an extra helping of bacon for breakfast. Store that in your memory banks. :)

Lucky you!

I actually posted about it back in November when I found out that they were all going to be on board. The Soap Opera magazine I get had the information in it back then.

As was just posted above, the premise is that Jim & Family get chosen to film a commercial for the cruise line. However they decide to replace Jim--and Ingo plays the person that replaces Jim in the commercial. It is supposed to be a 2 episode "series" in February for "sweeps" and I can't wait to see it.

I would have LOVED to have been on that sailing as we are huge Jim fans and my daughter just LOVES Ingo Rademacher (Jax)!!

If anyone knows, please post as I'd love to watch it!
Thanks
Michelle

... February 24 and March 2.

Jim and his family were in the stateroom (8016) next to the one we were in (8014).

I was on board last March when Ian from the cruise staff was accidentally knocked into the pool by a father dancing with his young daughter (about 3-4) in his arms. Ian got out of the pool and never missed a beat - it was during a sail away party. I wonder if that is where they got the idea for the "According to JIM" commercial.
