09/28/2002 Cruise

That's kind of funny! I was catching up on posts, and my DD heard the music and came running in to see what it was!:p

Kim in So. Cal.

Hi, William--you are correct about the non-married Mouses (can't really be mice, can it) and Ducks. I checked with my friendly Disney Trivia expert Anthony. He works at my Disney Store. Anthony actually was in two trivia contests at Disneyland--I've even seen pictures of him in the Main Street Parade. Anthony tells me that both Mickey and Donald had cartoon dream sequences where they married their girlfriends. However, it was all a dream.

As to Goofy--in Goof Troop, Goofy's last name is Goof. His son Max's name is Max Goof. Nothing like knowing an expert you can rely on.

I missed the music because Ed drives me crazy with all the sounds, so I turn the sound off. I'll check it later.

Nancy, thanks for the kind words to Riker. We're doing pretty well.

Hope everyone has a good night and a better day tomorrow.

Karen

Far North checking in ...

Nancy - Not sure where your friend went seakayaking - Prince William Sound or Southeast (Both are beautiful). Let her know the weather has gone belly-up in tha last few days after a LONG run of exceptionally good weather. Sea Kayaking is "working" cruise - Got too old for that a number of years ago, but I do have the memories - Distant memories ...

GoofyNut - Environmentally correct golf balls!!! Works for me! Did you know that they make golf tees out of flour paste? No tree cutting and broken tees dissolve in the rain - biodegradable.
Now, if we can make golfballs with the right coefficient of spin ....

Mike - Glad to hear about your Dad coming home.

Rellingtwin - George(8) - Deep Sea Fishing?! Dinner conversation!

HH&GB to all......

I think I hit a nerve ... Looks like I got the kids involved - GREAT.
I'm really happy for them getting involved and starting to make new friends. I (faintly) remember how hard it is to get warmed up to new people.

If Goofy has a son -- what's his wife's name?

Don't worry about the sound --- love it!

Glad to hear Riker is adjusting himself to his disability. Hey animals aren't any different than people ... for those of you that are animal lovers, I'm sure you know what I mean. I had a very elderly beagle mix (Dusty) that used my other dalmation mix
(Cindy) as her very own seeing eye dog. It's amazing how they can compensate. AshLee says woof wooovf wa woov (Hi Riker, glad to hear you have a real nice person!)

Back to work.......

Hey everyboy - just wanted you all to know I have confirmed my reservations for the Radisson in Key West for September 27th and will be down to meet the Magic on the 29th with my Conch Republic flag - hummmmmmmmmm got over surprises also BUT that will have to wait.
Talk to you soon - and just in case of any problems while here, Jaonne and Pat will be holding down the shop while Norm and I are down there having fun.
Take care and evrryone stay safe
Just me
Shirley

This is so cool to have the young people involved on the boards. Keep it up guys. Well another work week down the drain and we get a little closer to the cruise. All this talk about the puppies makes me miss our little cocker Fred so much. I'll tell you this past week the weather has been perfect very dry but very nice. Hope everybody has a great weekend and everyone feels great. Barbara and George. PS Go Eagles rode to Supper Bowl starts Saturday night. At least I can dream. please just once more before I die.:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Hello,

Goofynut - that sounds good to me. Still need to convince DH that it will be better - because it is cheaper.

Anybody suffering from the Disney blues? I need my vacation now. :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Do most of you book your next cruise while you are on the cruise? Is it a reasonable discount you get for doing that?

Isn't that horrible already thinking about the next trip b4 I even take this one!!!!

See ya

:bounce: OMG ... I need to cruise NOW .... very bad sinus or migrane headache since last night.

We agree GO EAGLES!!!!

In case you guys had not heard --- Disney Magic just had something wild happen. They came across some CUBAN refugees in a boat out at sea --- Saw it on Cruise Reports.

Also just saw that Disney has applied to Alaska Tourism for permit to dock ... looks like there is another ship in the making to be homed on the west cost for Alaska Cruises --- There you go Dennis!

@GoofyNut -- sorry to hear about your headache. I get them sometimes too. I hope it goes away quickly and you are feeling better soon.

Disvaclub -- you are not the only one with Disney blues! Being home with a sick daughter is taking its toll on me.

Today the younger one asked me when she would get to go to WDW. I told her that we are doing the cruise and I asked her if that counted.

I am really eager to start my trip shopping. (Okay, I'm always eager to shop, but this is shopping with a purpose.)

OK I know you've all been waiting for this!

49 DAYS TO GO!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I just picked up DH and DS tux from the cleaners. I have my formal dress, but I still need one for DD.

Jul...next years cruise is already planned! 10/11/03 which will be the first cruise for the Magic after dry dock. Several of the cruisers we meet last year have already book. I am waiting for the 11 mo windo so I can book with my DVC points.

I would like my kids to get involved with posting, BUT then I would have to share my puter!!!

Shirley...looking forward to meeting you and Norm!

Dennis , my DS is crazy about fishing. He would rather fish then do almost anything else. He catches more fish the DH! We have tried before to book the bottom fishing trip at CC but were not able to. This year however it is BOOKED! DH and DS are going to be on the 9:15 fishing trip.

Hi Everyone, It's been a very busy week. It was my turn to "open and close" which means first one there, last one to leave. Plus DD started middle school (6th grade) on Thur. She was so nervous.;) I've been checking out the Starfish page, tried to order, but it wouldn't go through. I'll try again this weekend.
We've got our 2 nieces visiting from Conn. this week. They are staying with DH mom, but we are taking them out on our boat this weekend. And going to Billy's tonight for crabs!
(For you newbies and vets with senior moments, Billy's is the Best oyster bar in PCB)
I am excited about the Shuttle Launch. But don't want to get my hopes up too much. I'm not even going to tell DS about it until the last minute.
Well got to run and get dressed down for Billy's. LOL Later

Hola Ave! Eat some steamed crabs and raw oysters for me! I sent ERD our "shoe sizes" tonight. I also changed our time from 11:00 to 11:30 based on the arrival time of the Magic.
The way I look at the Shuttle launch is this....It "MIGHT" be launched during a time period that I will be in SE Florida 3 times.Sept27,28,and Oct 5. The chances of me seeing a launch are better then they have ever been in my entire life!!!!!
I've got my fingers crossed!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Ave and Mary when Kathy and I were becoming certified scuba divers we used the treasure ship dive shop on thomas. There was a restaurant that we went to called the bridge tender just before you went over the bridge to panama city. Don't know whether or not it is still there.

Way to go with the green bouncies Mary. Mike

Mike, they are building a new bridge to replace the Hathaway Bridge. In order to build it, all the buildings from the brige West (The bridge Tender, the shopping center, the Wendys) have all been torn down.

Billies is just up the road from the Treasure Ship. When were you there?

Did everyone see??? TinkerbellMagic might have someone to help her! I am so glad. I've been following that post since it started! I KNEW one of these great Dis'ers would help. Also way cool it was a child (middle school aged) who stepped up to help. I just brings tears to my eyes!

I went to cruise chat tonight. "Saw" Dave (CheesePlease") there Hi DAVE..I know your lurking!

Rellingtwin - Glad DS is an avid fisherman. Had thought about the fishing trip but opted not. Was thinking about bringing a flyrod (4pc) but decided to pass on the idea. Too much gear for a "maybe". Besides, I love to snorkel too. There is a Yukon Territory Elder who says "catch & release is an insult to the spirit of the fish" Since I heard that two years ago, I have not been able to fish without wondering ...

Old Boss (frustrated) once asked me "what makes you happy?"
Response - Contented elders, happy children, respect of my peers, work that leaves me pleasantly fatigued & a loving wife"
Of those, I have one and I work to perpetuate the others.
Talking with your DS can help my efforts...

GoofyNut - Disney Cruise in Alaska? Please tell me it will be so!!!
I will cast my rod up to the stern and you guys can tow my kayak!
Unlike Rellingtwin - I have DVC points available now!!! Although Chrystina wants to go on Safari - So we been saving points

Good morning everyone,

On the undies thingy, last year someone on the boards said they were going to just bring all their old undies and as they wore them one last time they were going to throw them away and that way they would have more room for souveiners. (sp) Mike and I thought that was a fine thing to do. We didn't do it however.;)

Mike's dad is doing wonderfuly well! He is amazing to watch. However he told one of his daughters that under no circumstances would he ever have it done again! And while he was in his right mind (Who else's would he be in?;) ) that he did want to make it known that he was not going to.

Mike just got home from the State Guard. He is feeling poorly. He snapped his back yesterday and has been moving like an OLD man. I just may have to take him to the ER. this morning. I guess I am going to have to trade him in on a younger model. His parts are wearing out faster than we can replace them.:teeth:

We loved the Bridge Tender resturant and that was the first time we had ever eaten crabs! We didn't know how to peel or eat them and what you could and couldn't eat. They brought us a huge bowl of all kinds of seafood out with boiled potatoes and corn on the cob. It was delicious. We gave away our raw oysters though. Mike just couldn't get around the look of them and I hadn't had enough beer. ;)

Gotta go, Katie is getting fussy and needs her bath and bottle. Take care everyone. Kathy

  What are you talking about? Please clarify for me so I can go return to my more normal lurker state. Thankie very much!

KATHY - Tell MIKE we wish him health and healing. He's gotta be more careful, please! We wish to see him again in 14 months and one day!!!

Confused AND CONCERNED lurker now leaving the thread.....

I just did a little investigating and found out what Mary's post regarding TinkerbellMagic was all about. How neat is that!! I guess I should pay attention to the rest of these boards instead of just this and the 10/11/03 threads!

BTW - I got a dress yesterday for my 10/2003 cruise. How's that for advanced planning, Mary? (Don't tell anyone but it was a hundred dollar dress I got for 17 bucks!!! Are ya proud of me, Mary, or what!?

Lurker now leaving the thread....

Rosemary, TinkelbellMagic wrote a post asking for help. She needed someone to allow her daughter to be reistered in their room for the 8/17/02 cruise. Her daughter is sick and needs nightly injections of medication. The friends who were going to watch her had to back out and if unable to find someone to help she was going to have to stay home with the child. The cruise was a gift to her family who has been some very hard times, but being a family of 6 and the cabin for 4 caused some problems.Their have been many people who wanted to help, but until just yesterday, no one was able to help. Then she got a message from DCL AND from a cruiser who is on her cruise and had less then full occupancy cabin.
So it looks like the DIS ( the WONDERFUL people on this board) has struck again!
I just love this board!

 Rosemary. I started to do that awhile ago in case you were on the board. Way to go on the dress thing. I need to go shopping for clothes but I just hate shopping. I know, I know I might as well hand in my membership to the female club but I just hate it. I however, love Home Depot and can spend hours in there and Lowe's. I am like Vonda, someone shrunk my cruise clothes. :( :) So..... it is shop, make them or stay at home and I ain't agonna stay at home!

Mike and I are getting ready to go to the ER and see about his back. Wish us luck.

Take care, Kathy
